To ask what's for dinner now the weather has changed?

It's wet, miserable and cold today. So, I'm thinking of making a goulash tonight, I'm searching recipes now.

I love a soup or stew for dinner when it's cold, with fresh buttery bread!

What are you having?

@TheClitterati is the sieving to get the sliced onions out? Do you blitz it with a hand blender? Do you double quantity as this is not enough for family meal or do you freeze some? Sorry, lots of questions.....

TheClitterati · 12/09/2019 14:21

I like to keep all the vege in so I blitz it with a stick blender. I'm not sure why recipe says to sieve as why would you want to take all the onions/carrots out? Also I am a lazy chopper and using a stick blender means I don't have to be too fancy on the initial chopping.

It makes enough sauce for dinner - but I always double it and either freeze it or keep in fridge for another meal/lunches. We really like the sauce.

Thanks, I've bookmarked that link and will give it a go.

DH is out for the evening, DD had leftover curry for tea and now I'm fending for myself which means...

Fray Bentos Pie! My favourite lazy comfort food. Haven't had one since about March. It's definitely time.

Hairy bikers sausage casserole and crusty bread.

I made roasted salmon, which I had marinated for 24hrs in a sauce made from whisky, olive oil, soy sauce and minced garlic.

Served it with a green salad. It was lovely.

I made a spiced carrot and coconut soup for me and a pancetta and asparagus carbonara for my DP.

Tomorrow night I'm making a ratatouille for me that I'll have with couscous.

And for DP I'll be doing cajun belly pork slices, roasted with baby potatoes, served with sautéed peppers and onions.

We have VERY different tastes 😂
