To have lost all respect for Leave voters?

It's their fault we're in this mess and I can only see it getting worse.

I don't think you can blame Leave voters for all that we are going through. Not all are the same.

Though 90,000 of them who voted for Mr Johnson and the 20 or so Tory MPs who refused to back the withdrawal agreement should be blamed.

ellzebellze · 04/09/2019 16:39

Well if all the people who didn't bother to vote had voted to remain, then we wouldn't be in this mess either, would we?

SoupDragon · 04/09/2019 16:40

It's not their fault, it's the fault of the campaigners.

There were lies (probably on both sides to be fair) but no one predicted this total shambles.

missfliss · 04/09/2019 16:40

I pretty much exclusively blame Farage / UKIP for spreading bigotry and lies, then Cameron for the arrogance of a referendum where he wasn't prepared for an answer he didn't plan for, then the subsequent lying Tory governments

SoupDragon · 04/09/2019 16:40

My mother voted to leave but she says this is not what she thought she was voting for.

MuddlingMackem · 04/09/2019 16:41

It's the fault of the government, who were so arrogant and did not believe that Leave could possibly win, so they didn't bother to draft any plan in case it did. And then they panicked / buried their heads in the sand.

LatteLove · 04/09/2019 16:42

YANBU but then I didn’t have any respect for most of them in the first place. There were very few that seemed to have decent reasons for voting leave.

FuriousCheekyFucker · 04/09/2019 16:42

I've lost all respect for MPs who will not carry out the will of the electorate.

LatteLove · 04/09/2019 16:42

But primarily I blame DC.

Rowgtfc72 · 04/09/2019 16:43

People had many different reasons to vote leave.
I voted leave and am sick of hearing that its our fault.
Maybe I should blame the remainers who held up our exit from Europe?
Then we can all go round in circles again and nothing will ever be decided.

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 04/09/2019 16:43

The lies that happened during the campaign was awful.
Also. Even some of the MP’s have said they had no idea about all of the stuff that being in the EU meant to the UK. One of them didn’t even know how important Dover was.
Giving this to the UK public was an awful idea. And that was the problem. It was too big for most people to understand or get their head around. I did my research but even now I’m still learning about different things.

KennDodd · 04/09/2019 16:45

But leave voters can see how this is unfolding and STILL think Brexit is a great idea. Most haven't changed their minds and still want to put the rest of us through it. Risking the peace in NI, the economic damage and stripping the rest of us of our rights and freedoms as EU citizens.

Yes, these selfish fuckers, refusing to be bullied by an unelected and unaccountable prime minister, fucking up their own careers and future livelihoods to try and ensure we get enough food, medicines and that the country doesn’t end up going down the shitter economically. Outrageous!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 04/09/2019 16:46

i blame all the MPS!!!!!!!
Said you'd honour the vote
voted through article 50
wouldnt agree on the withdrawal agreement 3 BLOODY TIMES!!

Unwilling to compromise - it is all the MPs fault and Im sick to death of bloody brexit just leave so we can deal with other issues in this country.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 04/09/2019 16:47

@Rowgtfc72 you've just summed up the problem though. You said that leave voters had different reasons, which they did but that's how we're left with this mess.

Leavers didn't vote for a no deal, they voted to leave the EU. Most of the leave campaign that I saw said that there would be a great deal and we wouldn't leave on a no deal. This isn't remainers fault.

SoupDragon · 04/09/2019 16:48

Maybe I should blame the remainers who held up our exit from Europe?

Except it isn't exclusively the remainers is it?

LatteLove · 04/09/2019 16:50

I voted leave and am sick of hearing that its our fault.

But of course it is, at least in part. I voted remain so if the result had gone my way this wouldn’t be happening. It’s happening because the vote went your way. At least own your part in it. I voted remain for a number of reasons, although I fully accept the EU is far from perfect, partly because I knew that the government couldn’t be trusted not to make a complete arse of it. Not that I predicted it would be as bad as this, but I was sure they’d fuck it up

SoupDragon · 04/09/2019 16:52

But this shit-storm isn't what they were sold and what most voted for is it?

longwayoff · 04/09/2019 16:52

Interesting vote share on here. Reflective.

LatteLove · 04/09/2019 16:53

*One of them didn’t even know how important Dover was.i

And not even any MP, the so called Brexit Secretary and now Foreign Secretary! I mean?!

I’ve stood in dogshit with more intellect and acumen than most of the current cabinet. Thick as mince.

LatteLove · 04/09/2019 16:54

But this shit-storm isn't what they were sold and what most voted for is it?

But a lot claim it is

Autumnintheair · 04/09/2019 16:54

Why not blame the causes of brexit?

The eu.

NoddyAndBessie · 04/09/2019 16:55

I didn't have any respect for them in the first place.

LatteLove · 04/09/2019 16:56

Nigel?

SoupDragon · 04/09/2019 16:56

I suspect you mean "some".
