To think Sil's present makes her a cheeky f**cker!

Sil got DH a family photo package present for his birthday. Nice present because we have a young dc. But it's in the city thats near to her and mil and an hour and a half away from us. She also has said to arrange it with her when we go because she wants to be in the photos. AIBU to think that's quite cheeky of her?

Not really no. I think it's a nice gift. You can all go out to dinner after.

WorraLiberty · 12/08/2019 12:58

I think that's a lovely gift to be honest. It is a 'family' photo package after all.

Plus she doesn't have to be in all of them.

WendyBagina · 12/08/2019 12:59

I think it's a bit shit.

PuppyMonkey · 12/08/2019 12:59

Not so much cheeky as a bit, erm, weird.Confused

Maybe she means just one or two shots, but mostly it will be you, DH and DC?

RandomeUsername · 12/08/2019 13:01

Even though its near to her and not us? Isn't it cheeky to dictate terms of a present? She hasn't given dh it yet, just told him that's the gift. I assume as a way to make sure she is in the photos?

A bit cheeky and rather self centred for someone else's birthday.
Could of been worse she could have said that you weren't invited

Bbang · 12/08/2019 13:02

Get the photos done without her 😂😂

HollowTalk · 12/08/2019 13:02

It's a really rubbish gift if you have to make a long trip to receive it. Also you might not want her in the photo!

Butchyrestingface · 12/08/2019 13:02

Not to my tastes but “cheeky fucker” is a bit strong.

I gather you don’t like this woman?

WorraLiberty · 12/08/2019 13:03

I don't know, is it available nearer to where you live?

WorraLiberty · 12/08/2019 13:04

It's not the OP's gift so it'll be up to her husband if he wants his mother and sister in the photo, which he could well do.

hidinginthenightgarden · 12/08/2019 13:04

I would think this was weird. A family shoot to me is the family unit- if it was for the wider family why would just she be in your photos? It’s a bit third wheel!

RandomeUsername · 12/08/2019 13:05

Can't get the photos done without her, she hasn't given it to dh. She's still holding onto it

OP posts:
isabellerossignol · 12/08/2019 13:05

Well she's his family too I suppose. And he does get to benefit if she is paying for a set of photos. And if it's in the city near her I'm assuming she thought you would enjoy visiting.

I don't think it's all that awful but you sound like you don't like her anyway, so if that's the case then it's obviously going to annoy you. If you got on well with her you'd be thinking 'great, a chance to get some family photos and we can socialise afterwards'.

Bornfreebutinbiscuits · 12/08/2019 13:05

Well it's supposed to be his photo package and in the nicest way maybe he doesn't want photos with his sister in?

Maybe you don't op 😂😂.

It's not a great gift when it's fully dictated like this

Youmadorwhat · 12/08/2019 13:05

I think it’s weird and I also suspect she won the package! And that’s why she has to be in it and it’s with a local photographer 🤣🤣🤣😬🤔

RandomeUsername · 12/08/2019 13:06

She does have a form for being quite cheeky, entitled, self centered and demanding. So yeah I'm not her biggest fan

OP posts:
AutumnCrow · 12/08/2019 13:07

I think that's a shit present, too.

But it's your husband's crap gift, and his to organise.

ohdearwhatdoido · 12/08/2019 13:07

Does it bother your DH that it's so close to her? Does it bother him that she wants to be in the photos?

You'll have to let him lead on this one I think.

mordecaithomas · 12/08/2019 13:07

Looooool what if she just wanted in the photos?!

FlapAttack23 · 12/08/2019 13:07

You’ll have to pay for the prints I guess too 😂😂

mordecaithomas · 12/08/2019 13:07

Isn't wanted in the photos*

FlapAttack23 · 12/08/2019 13:08

She will insist the free one is hers

NotAgainKen · 12/08/2019 13:08

Er, she's given herself a family photo package with you in it.

Isn't that like giving an Oxfam goat and keeping it in your own garden?

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 12/08/2019 13:08

What is the gift? Is it the cut price photo shoot and then you’re expected to shell out for the overpriced prints?
