I'm cross that the clean bed luxury has been ruined

I've changed our bed today and it was overdue. I put the sheet and pillow back on but the duvet cover is a bit damp so has stayed on the airer.
I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes. Angry

What are us she?

S1naidSucks · 06/07/2019 13:57

I’ll start again. 😳

What age is she?

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 13:58

She's 9. She'd just had a telling off for lying on her own bed in her outdoor clothes.
As I calm down I need to remember she's not naughty, just not thinking.

Blimey. I couldn't be bothered to be bothered.

Lonecatwithkitten · 06/07/2019 14:00

It's bad to lie on your bed in your outdoor clothes because?

S1naidSucks · 06/07/2019 14:00

She'd just had a telling off for lying on her own bed in her outdoor clothes.

That’s not just not thinking, if she’s already been told off. That’s bold behaviour that is in response to being told off.

MyDcAreMarvel · 06/07/2019 14:00

I don’t really understand the issue?

BruceAndNosh · 06/07/2019 14:00

Outdoor clothes?
Or outdoor hiking boots covered in melted Road tar and cow muck?
Unless it's the latter, I doubt they are "ruined"

NoBaggyPants · 06/07/2019 14:00

Do you mean her coat?

S1naidSucks · 06/07/2019 14:01

Personally it wouldn’t annoy me, unless the clothes were dirty or she had her shoes on. It would bother me if she was doing it because she had been told not to.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:02

Sorry she was told off maybe a couple of hours ago. A lot has happened since then and I genuinely believe she just got focused on something else and forgot. She isn't the sort to do something out nof mischief or to wind me up.
Iabu. I just need some perspective. I've had a crap week and the highlight was going to be getting into crisp clean sheets tonight :o

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 06/07/2019 14:02

Yes, she IS being naughty doing exactly what she'd been told not to (albeit on her own bed)

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:02

No just trousers and t shirt she'd been to the park in. Not muddy as far as I'm aware but not her pyjamas either.
Does no one else enjoy the clean bed feeling? Must just be me

Do you have outdoor and indoor clothes? Can you only lie on your bed in pj's? Bit confused.

CharityConundrum · 06/07/2019 14:03

She'd just had a telling off for lying on her own bed in her outdoor clothes

So is she not allowed to lie on her own bed unless she's in pyjamas?

WindsweptEgret · 06/07/2019 14:04

Are her clothes muddy or had she been rolling in the grass or something?

LadyBahBahBah · 06/07/2019 14:04

My cat is lying on my bed in his outdoor fur the bastard 😱

namechanged2000 · 06/07/2019 14:04

I love clean bed sheets but you're being OTT. You're only allowed in bed in pjs?

Thrupennybrit · 06/07/2019 14:05

My own mother was really clean and houseroud but I cannot ever remember being told off for lying on my own bed. Unless you mean in visibly very mucky clothes rather than just her non bed clothes.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:05

Yes I prefer jot to lie on the sheet in clothes I've been outside in. I don't think that's so unusual!
And no we don't have indoor and outdoor clothes. We have our clothes and then we have nightwear which is for lounging around the house and going to bed in.
Do other people not live like this then? Do you just drop into bed in your jeans? Do you get back from the park, rolling around on the grass and then sit on your bed, on the bottom sheet, to read a book?

HirplesWithHaggis · 06/07/2019 14:05

Oh, it's not just you, I love that clean bed feeling, especially if I've managed to get them linedried. Mmmmmmm. Grin

BlueMerchant · 06/07/2019 14:06

Lying on the bed in outdoor clothes is mischief?
Swap DC? I'll show you our mischiefGrin

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 06/07/2019 14:06

Weirdo. I lie on my bed in my 'outdoor' clothes all the time. Doing it right now, in fact.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:07

CharityConundrum

Should have said lying in her own bed, sorry.
Anyway I had no idea I was so houseproud on this issue! I'd always assumed lying in bed in clothes you'd been outside, on the bus, sitting on a park bench in, was a avoided where possible.
I also recall lots of threads about the joy of getting into lovely clean sheets which I've contributed to. Guess those are differ t posters :o

Fair point blue she's usually very good and we're lucky.
