I'm cross that the clean bed luxury has been ruined

I've changed our bed today and it was overdue. I put the sheet and pillow back on but the duvet cover is a bit damp so has stayed on the airer.
I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes. Angry

Either way, it's not something that I could get worked up about. I sometimes find dd in bed, fully clothed. It has never crossed my mind to care. Actually, if I have nap then I just ge tin bed with my clothes on.

MrsDimmond · 06/07/2019 14:34

So Stealth, would you never get under the duvet when reading to your DC? I loved that. Always in my day clothes, never contaminated dd Grin

Ravingstarfish · 06/07/2019 14:35

Outdoor clothes 😂

Socksontheradiator · 06/07/2019 14:36

I love getting into a crisp clean bed. I'd be miffed too. It's a tiny little luxury. I know you know it's not the end of the world.

MyCatHatesEverybody · 06/07/2019 14:36

I agree with RedSkyLastNight's post. This is the kind of thing my brother used to think, he has full blown OCD now when it comes to "germs" in/on/around him.

Userplusnumbers · 06/07/2019 14:36

Oh! The first world problem police are out again I see - @Decormad38, can you provide the name of the person who is having the absolute worst time in the world today and is therefore the only one allowed to complain about anything ever to make sure the Internet doesn't get too full of frippery?

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:36

I don't think so, think I used to snuggle up on their beds in dressing gown or blanket.
Tbh it's dressing gown on as early as possible in this house so the issue rarely arises :)

OP, you are batshit

OldBeans · 06/07/2019 14:37

You sound a bit highly strung, OP. I can’t imagine telling my child off over something so petty.

MrsDimmond · 06/07/2019 14:37

Still do, when we watch TV together in her room Wink

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:37

Thank you socks. I've not cried. I've not beaten her. I've not sent her into care (wtf?!)
I've just been a bit miffed and told her off. Perspective regained.

Can anyone read? Anyone?
I have admitted iabu and apologise multiple times. And still they come.

OP posts:
katewhinesalot · 06/07/2019 14:38

I used to sit on the bed with them.

WindsweptEgret · 06/07/2019 14:38

in your bed though? On the bed, sometimes on the quilt, sometimes on the sheet, sometimes on the mattress protector if the sheets are on the line, quilt over me if I'm cold.

JustTwoMoreSecs · 06/07/2019 14:39

I’m with you OP, no outside clothes on the bed!

Reallybadidea · 06/07/2019 14:39

I don't think I know anyone who would do this.

How do you know though? It's never come up in conversation before with any of my friends and acquaintances Grin

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:40

Mine both have high /midsleepers now so no chance :)
Actually when they were tiny putting them into a clean bed in a clean sleepsuit after a bath was one of my favourite things. I tried the other day but my 12yo refused the onesie
(that was a JOKE before anyone reports me)

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:40

What's the point of a mattress protector if it's just as dirty as the sheets then?

OP posts:
Ladybird909 · 06/07/2019 14:41

OP I completely get where you're coming from.

In my opinion (and appreciate that others don't agree but wanted to give you some support) beds are for sleeping in not lounging around on. And only bed clothes to be worn in bed never outside clothes.

I would be really annoyed as well if I had a clean bed with lovely fresh sheets and someone went on it in outside clothes!

PolkadotLollipop · 06/07/2019 14:41

I love clean bed sheets but often sit/lie on my bed in my day clothes. YY to the gym wear too, @EdWinchester, usually whilst I’m waiting for my bath to fill. As for telling your DD off for lying on her own bed in her own clothes, surely that’s up to her? Telling her off for lying on her own bed seems as controlling as hell, to me.

PolkadotLollipop · 06/07/2019 14:42

Lol @ ‘can anyone read’.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/07/2019 14:43

It's the Clean-Bedness that has been spoiled and corrupted for you OP.

I am on your side - on bad-change day I make sure that I am the first one in and get to bed early because there is nothing like pristine sheets! (Mr Schaden has NO CHANCE of any hanky-panky on clean sheet day - I just want to enjoy their purity. There is nothing like it)

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:43

Re her own bed, I didn't tell her off as such, just said "get out of there in your outdoor clothes"
Which until recently I thought was normal

OP posts:
MrsDimmond · 06/07/2019 14:43

What's the point of a mattress protector if it's just as dirty as the sheets then?

I thought the mattress protector was to protect the mattress from spills and stains ....not to offer protection to the person from the dirt of the mattress (really confused now Grin)

grumiosmum · 06/07/2019 14:43

methinks OP is a bit bonkers
