I'm cross that the clean bed luxury has been ruined

I've changed our bed today and it was overdue. I put the sheet and pillow back on but the duvet cover is a bit damp so has stayed on the airer.
I just went in to find DD lying on our bed, on the sheet in her outdoor clothes. Angry

As if people lie on their beds in outdoor clothes Envy

I’m a complete slattern but if someone laid on my fresh bed with outdoor clothes on Angry

fikel · 06/07/2019 14:08

I have bedspreads that solve that issue

BiscuitDrama · 06/07/2019 14:09

Do you get back from the park, rolling around on the grass and then sit on your bed, on the bottom sheet, to read a book?

If the duvet wasn’t pulled up, then yes, of course.

Are you worried about contamination from outside? What if you came in, sat on the sofa in your jeans? Is that allowed?

And then what if later you changed into pyjamas, are you then not allowed to sit on the sofa? Or would you need to change into fresh pyjamas before getting into bed?

Gorse · 06/07/2019 14:09

I get where you're coming from, I'd be pretty hacked off too. Fresh sheets, fresh PJ's on freshly showered, hair wash and all, self - sheer luxury!

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:09

Nammie apparently they do!

Never heard of this in my life Confused

Bagadverts · 06/07/2019 14:09

Unless they were shoes or really dirty clothes I can’t see the problem, certainly on her own bed. I agree with that lovely feeling of new sheets but she’s obviously not bothered. It’s naughty but I’d find it ott for my own bed.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:10

Biscuit, I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I love a nice clean bed, I can see I'm not alone but plenty do disagree. Fair enough :)

Thrupennybrit · 06/07/2019 14:11

No, I get the lying in clean sheets feeling but I wouldn't think it has been particularly compromised by a brief loll on the bottom sheet. And I think being told off for lying on your own bed is unusual.

MysweetAudrina · 06/07/2019 14:12

I change my bed every Friday and yes I do like to get into a fresh bed but I would have no issue going for a nap on Saturday in whatever I was wearing which would normally be either yoga pants or leggings. My kids are always lying on their bed in whatever clothes they are wearing. Obviously if they are in mucky sports gear they would have a shower before changing and then lounging.

BiscuitDrama · 06/07/2019 14:12

I still can’t get my head around the rest of the house/clothes issues though, you haven’t answered my questions.

EdWinchester · 06/07/2019 14:12

I lay on my bed in my sweaty gym gear earlier.

WhereForArtThouBray · 06/07/2019 14:13

My mind is actually boggling at this and I didn't think I was a particular scruff.

If I come home from work I happily lounge on my bed or watch a film on the bed with the DC or whatever. Never occurred to me not to.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:14

I felt it was a bit convoluted. Yes we sit on the sofa in both outdoor gear and pyjamas if that's the question. That isn't the same as sitting directly on your clean bed sheet in your jeans. Does that make sense?

FriarTuck · 06/07/2019 14:15

My cat is lying on my bed in his outdoor fur the bastard
My eldest cat deliberately lies (in his outdoor fur which he then leaves behind) on every clean bed in turn before I've had the chance to even finish cleaning the house! It's like Goldilocks with fur....

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:15

On or in where? My autocorrect on this did not help my case!
On is fine imo. In is minging.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:15

Cats are exempt. As are dogs.
Not that I have animals

TheWernethWife · 06/07/2019 14:18

Lady love that image, my 3 try to lie on my bed in their outside clothes but start fidgeting and messing about so I have to shut the bedroom door.

c75kp0r · 06/07/2019 14:18

sorry but the animals are considered cleaner than kids - I know cats do constantly clean themselves, but they are also flea magnets

Hopefully, even after being OUTSIDE your kids do not have fleas...

Chewbecca · 06/07/2019 14:19

I do love clean bedclothes but wouldn’t tell someone off for laying on a sheet (clean or otherwise) in their clothes. That’s quite OTT.

BiscuitDrama · 06/07/2019 14:19

I just can’t understand why you are picking and choosing your contamination boundaries Grin
But if it makes sense to you then that’s fine.

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:19

How are animals cleaner then?
Small babies would also be allowed :)

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2019 14:20

Biscuit but surely we all do it to some level. Presumably you'd draw te line at muddy clothes in your bed?

OP posts:
TheWernethWife · 06/07/2019 14:20

Meant outside fur not clothes ha ha

Bluerussian · 06/07/2019 14:20

Kids don't always think about such things. The clothes probably wouldn't have hurt but shoes would.

I'm interested in you putting same bedclothes, washed, back on bed. Do you only have one set?

Good charity shops sell beautiful bedclothes.
