Apologies if this thread has been done before!

Currently in hospital having DC1. Had an examination and was told my cervix had already softened and midwife could feel baby's head.

I've had the first propess so now just a waiting game Sad

How long did it take for you?

Anyone? Smile

OP posts:
tanpestryfirescreen · 27/04/2019 12:13

4 days from induction to baby

incogneto · 27/04/2019 12:14

@tanpestryfirescreen Bloody hell thats lengthy! Shock

OP posts:
Astrid0208 · 27/04/2019 12:15

28 hours

AhhhHereItGoes · 27/04/2019 12:17

I was 2cm within 4 hours but had to have an EMCS (pre-eclampsia) if you are already softened I think that makes your induction a lot more favourable and 18-24 hours seems more reasonable.

Good luck :-)

ElevenOhFive · 27/04/2019 12:18

12 hours from pessary to baby boy!

Applesbananaspears · 27/04/2019 12:19

3.5 hours from start to finish. Absolute dream birth

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 27/04/2019 12:19

38 hours from 1st contraction to production. My cervix wasn't very ready though, and he was in a posterior position, which slowed things down a bit.

incogneto · 27/04/2019 12:21

I'm really hoping things happen faster as my cervix is already softened!

OP posts:
incogneto · 27/04/2019 12:22

@Applesbananaspears wow 😮

angstridden2 · 27/04/2019 12:23

6 hrs from pessary to delivery...very intense but am not a patient person so was v pleased!d

Lauren83 · 27/04/2019 12:24

I had DS 80 hours after the first pessary but that was as they just couldn't get me doing, started at 8am Monday and had a section Thursday afternoon

ny20005 · 27/04/2019 12:24

I had first pessary at lunch time & baby was born at 10pm the following night

Merryoldgoat · 27/04/2019 12:25

5 days, 3 goes, 1cm.

Unsurprisingly I ended up with an EMCS.

You sound like it’s going well. People I know who had more successful time varied between 6hr and 2 days.

Applesbananaspears · 27/04/2019 12:27

@incogneto it was a third birth, waters broken, drip on, epidural in and baby out. No stitches. It was amazing, should add that first and second were less great

Heymummee · 27/04/2019 12:29

Around an hour and 40 minutes. I did not expect it to be so quick and it was essentially just one long contraction.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/04/2019 12:29

I only got to 3 cms. (Failed to progress)
I snored through my contractions (epidural)Grin
I had pre-eclampsia though And need a c/section in the end.
All in all about 2 days.
If they hadn't have gone in and got her she'd have probably still been in there now. The lazy article.Grin

bitchfromhell · 27/04/2019 12:31

A week, ended up with a section.

incogneto · 27/04/2019 12:32

I'm so impatient so I'll be gutted if I'm in here days 😂

Already been on the birthing ball and for a walk but no pains yet. Had pessary around an hour ago

OP posts:
abcriskringle · 27/04/2019 12:34

19 hours on the drip

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/04/2019 12:36

A weekShock.
I wouldn't have thought they could leave that long.
You must have been tearing you hair out.
Good luck, BTW,op. Hopefully it'll all be straight forward.
Do you know what you're having or is it a surprise.

MsFanackerPants · 27/04/2019 12:38

First pessary at 5pm Monday. Baby born 2.30am Friday. I kept starting and stopping with contractions on the Tuesday and Wednesday so they broke my waters on Thursday and I had pitocin too. It was pretty intense by that stage. I was 39 weeks so I think baby just wasn't quite ready to be evicted.

incogneto · 27/04/2019 12:39

@Awwlookatmybabyspider he's a boy and he is very large! I'm 38 weeks so surprised my cervix is already softened. MW said she could also feel his head?

OP posts:
abbey44 · 27/04/2019 12:43

First one three and a half hours start to finish (8lb 4oz), the second one twenty seven minutes (8lb 13oz). They told me the next would be quicker and larger. I booked my sterilisation there and then...

Good luck, hope everything goes well.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/04/2019 12:43

Oh fab a little or rather not so little Prince. Grin. Mind you I was told my dd or rather (baby) at the time was going to be at least 10lbs.
She was only a little 6lb 10oz scrap of a thing. Grin, so They can get things wrong.
