Apologies if this thread has been done before!

Currently in hospital having DC1. Had an examination and was told my cervix had already softened and midwife could feel baby's head.

I've had the first propess so now just a waiting game Sad

How long did it take for you?

I was induced with my first baby and my last, it took two hours for me to go into proper labour, and i gave birth to them a couple of hours after that.

incogneto · 27/04/2019 13:13

@Mabellavender ahh amazing! I can only dream of that

About 14 hours from first pessary to birth, and i had the first one before i went to bed for the night Smile

Good luck op Flowers

NightCzar · 27/04/2019 13:19

8 hours from second pessary , both times.

Littlemissdaredevil · 27/04/2019 13:20

6.5 hours from start of induction to baby. Bishops score of 5 so had Propess to soften my cervix. Turned out it didn’t need softening as contractions started immediately and I got to fully dilated and pushing within 3 hours. DD was b2b and got stuck so the other 3.5 hours were pushing, prep for theatre and forceps.

I would insist on an epidural if I ever had to be induced again

Mamamiais · 27/04/2019 13:23

It was 20h to the baby but was given drip in the end. They said to walk a lot and bounce on the ball to speed up the process.

ChocolateAddictionIsReal · 27/04/2019 13:25

About 11 hours from pessary insertion to baby being born!

Flatwhite32 · 27/04/2019 13:25

7 hours from pessary going in to DD being born. I had Mysodelle though, not propess. All the best OP! Smile

purplereindeer · 27/04/2019 13:25

30 hours from pessary to labour. Labour was three hours, but he was my fourth baby (induced due to ROM).

CatchingBabies · 27/04/2019 13:28

It depends if they’ve used propess or prostin. One is 6 hours apart and the other is 24 hours apart. Can usually have 2 or 3 depending on hospital policy. Some people react quickly and that’s all they need and they labour. Others need the max dose of prostaglandin, then waters breaking then the hormone drip which can take much longer. Very hard to predict but if you plan for 3-4 days anything less is a bonus. Good luck!

elliejjtiny · 27/04/2019 13:29

Drip at 9pm. 4cm at 1:30am baby born by emcs at 1:53am

mrs2468 · 27/04/2019 13:51

98 hours from first pessary (four attempts) ended in emcs

Llareggub · 27/04/2019 13:53

DS2 was induced 10 years ago today. His birthday is next week!

incogneto · 27/04/2019 15:19

Unicornshopkeeper · 27/04/2019 15:23

Same as merryoldgoat 5 days, 3 goes, 1 emcs

3rd baby too, other two were vag

Nat6999 · 27/04/2019 15:29

2.5 days, ended in EMCS, they offered me a section at the start but I wanted to give birth & get out of the hospital asap, plus I was terrified of surgery. If I had my time again I would have taken the section.

SparklesandFlowers · 27/04/2019 15:32

An hour after the gel I went into labour and he was born three hours after that.

BrillyPribble · 27/04/2019 15:34

I was induced on the drip, they'd already broken my waters and nothing happened and I was being induced for foetal distress so they moved on pretty quick.
From contractions starting to baby was 2 hours.

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 27/04/2019 15:37

Induced at 3pm was born next day at 1pm by emcs as brow presentation, worst labour of the 3 I’ve had, the other 2 were spontaneous labours but was induced because of age and blood clot

1sttimeunicorn · 27/04/2019 15:38

Went in on a Saturday and had him early on Tuesday morning.

lily2403 · 27/04/2019 15:38
