How much do people pay on rent each month

After the thread on how much is your mortgage, just wondered what everyone pays on rent each month and which area?

Why?

It really depends on where people live and the size of the property they rent

South central - 2 bed 2 bath first floor apartment in quiet village, 700pcm which is below market rate for the area, new ones coming on the rental market are 825pcm

around 2,275 2 bed in London

Zone 1 central London, £685 for one bedroom in a 3 bed shared flat. Amazingly cheap compared to what I’ve paid previously in zone 2/3!!

£700 down south, for a small 2 bed flat. It's also on one of the affordable schemes

3 bedroom detached cottage in the countryside with no neighbours for a mile in every direction. South of Scotland. £575 a month. Love it.

425 two bed nw social housing so low rent. 600+ private for area

£380 pcm. 2 bed terrace.

NE Scotland.

1256 for a 2 bedroom terrace in London zone 5, two of us here

It really depends where you live. Where I live rent for a standard size 2-3 bed house is probably around a £1000 a month. About £600-800 for a 1 bedroom flat.

I was renting. It’s ridiculous. A few years ago I moved in with my partner (who owns his house). Our mortgage is less than half the price of what our neighbour pays in rent.

Forgot to add that comes with a large back garden overlooking a huge field, is in a really quiet culdesac and has a drive.

£390pm for a two bed HA house in North Yorkshire.

£1,250 for a 4 bedroom detached house. 2 doubles and 2 small singles, decent garden. 5 minute stroll to a beautiful beach. South Coast.

£840 pcm for a 3 bed new build semi. Affordable rent via housing association, similarprivately would be

I live in a village in cambs and pay £950 for a small 3 bed terrace house

Seeing some of these rents makes me want to weep. We pay £1200 for a 2 bed flat, outskirts of London (zone 6).

Would love to move but don't have the funds to do that anyway and DC are settled in school, all our family are close by.
