To not be happy with my tummy tuck ??

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 18:15

So...I had a full tummy tuck with muscle repair and Lipo to my love handles in Istanbul.. 6 months in and even though my huge apron of skin has gone it's not at all what I thought it would be like. I still have a huge upper abdomen as apparently they could not do Lipo to this area.

I'm thinking of going back to have Lipo done to my upper abdomen and vaser Lipo to get my figure looking better.

Look at.my pics and let me know what you think. The first 2 pics are before and after and the final pic is from the side.

No pics.

MissGiddyPants · 18/02/2019 18:17

You look great. Have you got the clinic's number?

OurChristmasMiracle · 18/02/2019 18:19

Don’t see any pics.

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 18:20

Sorry ladies I'll try posting my pics again

Not sure there's a tactful way to say this, but have you tried losing weight?

HavelockVetinari · 18/02/2019 18:25

That's definitely not what you should expect from a tummy tuck. They can and should have performed liposuction on your upper abdomen, you were scammed I'm afraid. Unfortunately Turkey is not part of the EU and it will be very very difficult to get restitution.

If I were you I'd get an appointment with a UK-based surgeon and ask them what they think, then take it from there.

fattymumslim19 · 18/02/2019 18:25

The tuck looks great and is healing well. Maybe trying to loose weight and tone up your tummy area would help.

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 18:26

Tomtontom I lost the required weight necessary and have lost another stone since. I am aware I am overweight..it's made worse by the medication I take.

A tummy tuck won't get rid of actual fat. So the apron has gone but you've been left behind with the fat that lived above the apron. I'm surprised they didn't suggest losing weight before the surgery so you'd get the best results.

GlitterPixie · 18/02/2019 18:26

YANBU I dont think I’d be completely happy with that result either - just going by some friends results Ive seen. Id definitely get back in touch with them. It’s a big improvement but for the money and pain I’d expect more of a result

Horsemenoftheaclopalypse · 18/02/2019 18:27

What did you expect it to look like?
(Genuine question)

FWIW I think you got a really good result just woneserong if your expectation are out of kilter...
surgeons are constrained by the material they have to work with ie body fat % and genetic shape

Tennesseewhiskey · 18/02/2019 18:28

In all honesty, I am not sure what you would expect when you still have weight to lose.

They can't just suck it all out of your stomach and make it flat.

Horsemenoftheaclopalypse · 18/02/2019 18:28

Woneserong = wondering

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 18:29

I've seen ladies with huge bellies who have got lovely flat tummies after a tummy tuck. I'm on the Cambridge diet and go to the.gym every day. I am losing more weight but my upper tummy is very hard and feels like it has something poking through it almost.

slipperywhensparticus · 18/02/2019 18:29

Do they cut into your muscles for a tuck or just the skin? Genuinely curious I've no idea

LaurieFairyCake · 18/02/2019 18:29

Well I think it looks dreadful unless you were actually a Weeble before Shock

And I don't mean you look dreadful, I mean the scar and the fact it looks like nothing has been done.

wontletmelogin · 18/02/2019 18:30

they've done a really shoddy job, I say this as someone who works in plastic surgery. They've managed to remove the excess but they definitely could've performed more lipo and trimmed the fat on the tissue and pulled tighter. You do need to lose quite a bit more weight though before looking into a revision.

Tomtontom · 18/02/2019 18:30

I think of lipo as something to define what's left after weight loss, it's definitely not designed to remove large amounts of fat (and it can be very dangerous if they do).

What result are you looking for? Have you had any consultations in the UK?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 18/02/2019 18:31

I think you have had the tummy tuck to early, perhaps it would have been better to be at your target weight first?

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/02/2019 18:31

I think you should have lost another couple of stone before surgery. Sorry.

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 18:31

Yes slippery they do a muscle repair as well as removing the apron of fat and Lipo.

Floralnomad · 18/02/2019 18:31

I unfortunately agree with pp that you needed to lose much more weight before you had the operation , an unscrupulous surgeon isn’t going to tell you that though , they will tell you that they can work wonders because they just want your money . I hope it was cheap .

SmashedMug · 18/02/2019 18:32

I've seen ladies with huge bellies who have got lovely flat tummies after a tummy tuck.

Or you've seen pictures of them at their largest before they lost loads of weight and had the tummy tuck to clean up their skin afterwards. I think it's sad that there's surgeons that feed into people's hopes like this.

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 18:33

I need to lose another 3 stones to get to.my target weight. I'll try and reach this and them will consider more surgery. Thanks all.
