To not be happy with my tummy tuck ??

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 18:15

So...I had a full tummy tuck with muscle repair and Lipo to my love handles in Istanbul.. 6 months in and even though my huge apron of skin has gone it's not at all what I thought it would be like. I still have a huge upper abdomen as apparently they could not do Lipo to this area.

I'm thinking of going back to have Lipo done to my upper abdomen and vaser Lipo to get my figure looking better.

Look at.my pics and let me know what you think. The first 2 pics are before and after and the final pic is from the side.

I would definitely give it your all to get the excess weight off that you want first before considering any more surgery, asses how you look once you have got to goal weight. You may find once you hit it that you are happy with how you look.

Reallyevilmuffin · 18/02/2019 18:53

You can't expect to get harley street results from a Hiya everybody cheap doctor from turkey...

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 18:53

I'm quite short. I'm only 5'2" and used to be a size 6. I'm a size 10 and all my fat seems to be on my belly. I am going to stay focused on my weight loss and see how I look after that. Shirleyphallus thank you for that kind comment.

I really do find it hard to believe you're a size 10 at nearly 11st. I'm 9.5st and I'm a 10/12. If you were a size 10 you wouldn't need to lose 3st

I have a bigger than average frame so my absolute thinnest without being ill is 11 st and a small size 10. I am just heavy, so it is perfectly possible. However I am not sure it is with 3 stone still to lose....

Schuyler · 18/02/2019 18:54

It looks ok to me but I’m not too knowledgable about these things. I do think you were screwed over by the surgeon who should not have performed surgery on someone who had 3 stone to lose. Hopefully you don’t go back to him!

Tomtontom · 18/02/2019 18:55

Perhaps a US size 10?

This is bizarre!

Iltavilli · 18/02/2019 18:55

OP, I mean this in the kindest possible way, but I’m not sure you’re being fully honest with yourself about your weight.
If you are around 11 stone and a size 10 then you can’t also need to lose 3 stone.

feelingverylazytoday · 18/02/2019 18:55

Are you very short? I don't see how you can be a 'tiny size 10' and still be 3 stone overweight.
I'm a big believer in exercise, I carry most of my excess weight on my abdomen, it's mostly gone now through years of exercise. Do you have a personal trainer who could advise on this?

TaimaandRanyasBestFriend · 18/02/2019 18:55

Yeah, I'm 11st and have 2st to lose and I'm definitely a 16! After giving birth to my 3rd I never was able to get lower than a 12 and one point I was 2st lighter than now.

slipperywhensparticus · 18/02/2019 18:55

I'm 11 stone and a 14 depends on your height? I'm 5ft 4 if I was 8stone I would be drastically underweight

Prisonbreak · 18/02/2019 18:56

I think you should have reached your goal weight before the surgery. You would never get the flat tummy result with a fair amount of weight left to shift

PersonaNonGarter · 18/02/2019 18:56

Oh OP, I feel so sorry for you. Of course you should have got better results from surgery.

It was completely irresponsible of the surgeon to do it. You are far too overweight. Your arms, chest, breasts and thighs tell a story. You should have lost weight FIRST and toned up a bit. Then your results would be better.

It is obvious you will need to do the whole thing over again. Only this time commit to weight loss. And exercise. Don’t cut corners and save for the job here.

With respect OP are you sure you are a comfortable size 10?

I'm 5ft 2in, just had my 2nd baby 4 months ago, and despite losing quite a bit of weight, I still have a large upper and lower abdomen and am not able to fit in to my size 12 Jeans. I'm 9st 3lbs.

Dowser · 18/02/2019 18:57

I’m 5 feet 6 , weigh 11 stone and I’m a 14-16

I’d expect someone weighing 8 stone to be a tiny size 10

Your tum does look really bloated I’m afraid
Sorry op.

WorraLiberty · 18/02/2019 18:58

Drastically? Why? Confused

if you can feel something hard poking through, could it be a hernia? I would go to your GP

SaucyJack · 18/02/2019 19:00

“all my fat seems to be on my belly.”

Yes, you’re an apple shape. I am too. My gut looks like yours did prior to surgery.

I am also a long way from being tiny. Post pregnancy fat carried on the belly is still just fat, and you won’t achieve your dream figure while you have 3st to shift.

Sorry to be blunt. Diet and exercise will give you much better results than surgery. Good luck!

TaimaandRanyasBestFriend · 18/02/2019 19:00

I'm 5ft, 4in. I'm stocky in build and have a lot of muscle, but yep, my fat's all around my middle and at 11st I ain't no 'tiny size 10'.

kmc1111 · 18/02/2019 19:01

A tummy tuck is just about removing excess skin and in some cases repairing muscle damage. It won’t make your tummy thinner unless your tummy is actually thin under the excess skin. I think you got exactly what you paid for, sorry.

People having it done for cosmetic reasons usually get down to their goal weight or lower first, but some overweight people get it done for health/comfort reasons. It sounds like the surgery assumed you were the latter, which isn’t an unreasonable assumption given you needed muscle repair and came to them without first losing the weight. It sounds like they only told you to lose enough weight to make surgery safer. If they’d known you wanted huge results they’d have told you to lose much more weight first.

Lipo isn’t a miracle worker. It should really only be used to ‘sculpt’ the body. I’d be very, very wary of any surgery that agrees to remove pounds of fat from one area. Aside from being unsafe, the results of that usually end up looking very weird. Also a lot of your weight in that area will be deeper fat, surrounding organs. There’s nothing any surgery can do about that.

TaimaandRanyasBestFriend · 18/02/2019 19:02

Sorry but I still don't see a 'tiny size 10' even in that photo, looks about a 14-16.

BookwormMe2 · 18/02/2019 19:02

The scar seems awfully high up. I would consider seeing a plastic surgeon in this country just to check everything's okay underneath.

MissLadyM · 18/02/2019 19:03

You paid for that?! You'd have been better off concentrating on losing weight and exercising. What did you expect? Now you have a scar as well. Don't get it.

DizzyBeeme · 18/02/2019 19:03

My upper tummy does feel more bloated and I can definately feel something. I'll book an appointment with my go. Im Currently wearing size 8 jeans from apricot and a lovely size 10 top from Next. Goodness knows what is going on with my sizes then lol.

Either way OP, can you go and at least get a private consultation in the UK?
I think some companies do this for free?

Hopefully you can agree a target weight or size before surgery so you fobt have to face this disappointment again.

It's awful the surgeon abroad went ahead when you were clearly going to be disappointed with the results.

So sorry for your losses too
