Death Penalty for Bellfield

Charlotte48 · 09/01/2019 19:42

Having watched Manhunt about the investigation into the evil paedophile; child killer; woman killer; woman abuser and beater, Levi Bellfield, I was just wondering if, after Brexit, we should restore the death penalty. Surely Bellfield should be executed.

OP posts:
RJnomore1 · 09/01/2019 19:44

Absolutely not. He should never be released but state sponsored murder is still murder.

Fatasfook · 09/01/2019 19:44

Might as well, let’s bring back public hangings! Bring back the good old days! Ffs

zenasfuck · 09/01/2019 19:45

What has brexit got to do with it ?
But no, we shouldn't restore the death penalty, a return to the dark ages is not the answer

But yes, Levi bell field probably deserves to die

BreakWindandFire · 09/01/2019 19:46

Everyone convicted of murder who was later proved innocent was originally convicted beyond reasonable doubt.

And Brexit makes no difference. We're signed up to the ECHR through our membership of the Council of Europe, not the EU.

AutumnCrow · 09/01/2019 19:46

It won't happen. Wouldn't get through Parliament.

Isn't Bellfield sitting on a minefield of information about other horrendous crimes and perpetrators?

Pontingss · 09/01/2019 19:47

I think that’s too merciful for him. I want him to suffer. I wish these people were made to do hard labour and live on basic rations rather than just sit in prison. I can’t think about him and others like him too much, I get too upset and it haunts me.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 09/01/2019 19:47

Oh stop!

Who benefits from him dying? I’ll tell you who- him!! Yes him. Because he gets an early release from life in prison and gets to stop living with everything he has done. He doesn’t suffer by being put to death, he gets released by it. Think smarter.

Smoothyloopy · 09/01/2019 19:47

You do realise the UK abolished the death penalty before it joined the EU!

User758172 · 09/01/2019 19:47

I agree. Rapists and murderers should be hanged.

Iooselipssinkships · 09/01/2019 19:47

Murder, because that's what the death penalty is, should never be legalised.
An eye for an eye makes us all blind etc.

IncomingCannonFire · 09/01/2019 19:48

It really does the job in America and the other countries which have capital punishment. Barely any crime at all in those places. Hmm.
Ya know what, even better let's give everyone a gun. Job done.

FamilyOfAliens · 09/01/2019 19:48

He has two whole-life tariffs. He will never be released. Unless you think revenge has a place in the justice system of a civilised society, why would you want him executed?

halfwitpicker · 09/01/2019 19:48

He should just be jailed for life in somewhere like Thailand or somewhere

Madders45 · 09/01/2019 19:48

“If you take a life when a life has been taken, that’s revenge, not justice.”

HollowTalk · 09/01/2019 19:49

All this does is confirmed my suspicion that so many people voting for Brexit didn’t know what the hell they were doing.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 09/01/2019 19:49

No.

There's no place for that in civilised society.

Hedgehogblues · 09/01/2019 19:50

No. You can't move towards building a humane society if you treat people inhumanely regardless of what they have done

LowbrowVictoriana · 09/01/2019 19:50

Why Thailand, halfwit ?Confused and why would they want him?

Ellisandra · 09/01/2019 19:51

Can we give a prize for “most nonsense with tenuous a Brexit link” thread of the day?

joanmcc · 09/01/2019 19:51

Great job OP, use Bellfield's victims in a hamfisted attempt to gather support for Brexit.

Coralnails · 09/01/2019 19:52

What the actual fuck has Brexit got to do with the death penalty?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the sheer stupidity of some people.

TerriTummyTowels · 09/01/2019 19:52

Oh believe me, nonsense like debating the death penalty is going to happen in parliament within 5 years the way things are going. The nutters are taking over "democracy".

PotteringAlong · 09/01/2019 19:52

Being in the EU has nothing to do with the death penalty in the U.K...

And no, we shouldn’t bring it back.

FuzzyCustard · 09/01/2019 19:53

No. The death penalty has no place in a civilised society (Brexit has nothing to do with it) and de-humanises us all.

Lindy2 · 09/01/2019 19:53

I'm pretty sure we abolished the death penalty without any reference or connection to the EU.
Also despite me agreeing Levi Bellfield is absolutely utter evil scum, reinstating the death penalty is the right thing to do and is not a step forward.
