To think Johnnie (Boden) is a Brexiteer?

And to be rather upset about it if he is? The new collection features a lot of union jacks and the words "forget staying in" next to a pic of a mac with a wild union flag lining in the catalogue. And have you see the girls union flag dress? Feel I am in receipt of propaganda and where will I shop now?!?!

I noticed this too, very tacky. Simple, no more Boden for my household.

TeenageAngst1 · 04/01/2019 08:09

Wouldn't be surprised if Johnnie was at Eton with Boris!

Noooo Boden is the only place I can get jeans for 12 year old skinny long legged ds that don’t fall down and reach his ankles.

Itinerary · 04/01/2019 08:24

I'd say it makes a refreshing change for someone in a creative field, after all the luvvies and celebs who have put forward pro-remain views.

Madmarchpear · 04/01/2019 08:24

Euurgh. I've just retrieved the catalogue from the bin to have a look. I wouldn't buy it even if I was a Brexiteer, very Next circa 2002. Will struggle to buy from them again and I'm not a particularly passionate remainer.

Augusta2012 · 04/01/2019 08:33

Oh for Christ’s sake. Pull yourself together. Maybe burn some Biden catalogues on a big fire? Smash the windows of any business you suspect might be owned by a leaver? Apparently this is more fun if one wears a brown shirt to do it.

TeenageAngst1 · 04/01/2019 08:34

This one is a corker m.boden.co.uk/en-gb/girls-dresses/day-dresses/g1340-nav/girls-navy-union-jack-mini-jack-dress

Yeah. No thanks..

TeenageAngst1 · 04/01/2019 08:36

And who is going out in this one on 19 March? m.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-dresses/shirt-dresses/w0302/womens-charlotte-shirt-dress

Augusta. I see you are the target market for that lovely Boden women's dress.

ShatnersBassoon · 04/01/2019 08:44

Why the surprise? He doesn't present as a liberal-thinking man of the people.

paintinmyhairAgain · 04/01/2019 08:50

what does it have to do with anybody else what he may/may not support ? ffs.

Madmarchpear · 04/01/2019 08:51

It's the image of his smug toff face mumbling about sovereignty and brand Britain if I contribute to his profitsGrin. The quality has declined anyway.

LittleDoritt · 04/01/2019 08:53

Tack-o-rama.

planespotting · 04/01/2019 08:54

Not buying anymore if this is true. I would not be surprised.
His clothes are made in China though...

paintinmyhairAgain · 04/01/2019 08:54

thank god, no more sniffy 'well, i shop at boden' comments on threads

kenandbarbie · 04/01/2019 08:54

I don't see why that is anything to do with Brexit. It's just a design. There have been Union Jack patterns on Biden and other clothes for years, what about ginger spice?

TSSDNCOP · 04/01/2019 09:01

Silly Jonny. If he’d had those designs in last years catalogue he’d have cleaned up at the Royal Wedding.

I really like the lining of the raincoat.

Shockers · 04/01/2019 09:06

I thought it wasn’t called a Union Jack unless it’s being flown on a boat. It’s a Union Flag.

If that’s true, your child may only wear the Mini Jack dress whilst sailing Wink.

TeenageAngst1 · 04/01/2019 09:20

Yes to the union flag but if it's windy sailing in a dress is unadvisable, unless wearing your union flag matching pants!

Re ginger spice that was 20 odd years ago and the whole Blair Cool Britannia movement was about Britain being great. Not being great only if we leave the EU. Times have changed. Wearing the union flag now is more likely to make you look like a member of UKIP.

Johnnie 'Bodger' Boden is an unwelcome pen friend here. I'm sorry to say that all his handwritten letters go in the bin (along with his little books).

He went to Eton (Bodger being his Eton nickname) then Oxford and became a stockbroker. His old Eton pals are still his friends.
I would not be at all surprised if he is making a political statement pro BREXIT.

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 04/01/2019 09:27

I don't buy from boden anyways but I've never thought to base my shopping decisions on whether the owner of the business is a brexiteer or a remainer.

BrexitDestruction · 04/01/2019 09:30

Fairly sure he is a Brexit. They don't get my money anymore.

arethereanyleftatall · 04/01/2019 09:31

Stop being so bloomin silly.
Just because the leavers in your own circle of friends/social media news feed/neighbourhood voted brexit for dishonourable reasons, there are many who voted leave for perfectly valid reasons. (No, I'm not going to list them for the umpteenth time, google it).
To boycott someone based on your own ignorance is embarrassing.

Itinerary · 04/01/2019 09:33

"Wearing the union flag now is more likely to make you look like a member of UKIP"

Time to reclaim it then 🇬🇧 Smile

Blair or Boden? Boden every time.
