To think Johnnie (Boden) is a Brexiteer?

And to be rather upset about it if he is? The new collection features a lot of union jacks and the words "forget staying in" next to a pic of a mac with a wild union flag lining in the catalogue. And have you see the girls union flag dress? Feel I am in receipt of propaganda and where will I shop now?!?!

If everybody thought I shall no longer support Dyson, or Boden or whatever, then this would make a difference. Our money and where we shop makes us probably more powerful than anything else does so I will not be spending any of my money on these Leaver Loons. Fuck ‘em. The British Treasury has also lost all my tax recently. And I am glad of that, though sad too because I do love my home country.

Helmetbymidnight · 04/01/2019 19:00

Blimey, I’m just leafing through it now. You’re absolutely right. Urghhhh.

How odd that some posters don’t think we should excercise free will over where we shop.

Unfinishedkitchen · 04/01/2019 19:08

Oh dear, looked at the links. How tacky!

ohlittletown0f · 04/01/2019 19:20

So if a teenager wore it in the street - would you lynch her?

Let's attack people over what they wear, read, how they shop, what they watch on telly etc etc - because we are right and they are evil

We decide they must be racist, Brexiteers, fascist - whatever. (Commies, Heretics, Royalists, Enemies of the Party, Papists, - and then we are justified in putting an end to them.)

Do a bit pf research - this only ends one way.

And anyone can shop where they like.

Madmarchpear · 04/01/2019 19:23

I doubt a teenager would wear that. I think they'll sell just one...to Christine Hamilton. And if I saw her in the street I wouldn't lynch her but I would give her a wtf face.

malificent7 · 04/01/2019 19:23

I don't get Boden anyway....its a bit frumpy.

LadyWithLapdog · 04/01/2019 19:26

Violence is a pathetic response. Don’t be so dramatic and ridiculous. If I saw someone plastered with a union flag I’d be my usual polite self. I’d find them pathetic and lacking in taste but that’s another matter.

PersonaNonGarter · 04/01/2019 19:27

If everybody thought I shall no longer support Dyson, or Boden or whatever, then this would make a difference.

Are you suggesting that we all get together to drive solvent businesses to the wall?

LadyWithLapdog · 04/01/2019 19:29

That’s capitalism, baby. Supply and demand.

BishopBrennansArse · 04/01/2019 19:30

Well surely if we're in such a minority boycotts won't affect these businesses? After all Brexiteers are gladly and knowingly throwing our entire economy down the toilet for their utopia, not a few companies.

Mistigri · 04/01/2019 19:31

I had a Dyson. It needed replacing. I didn't even consider looking at another Dyson because of his views on Brexit and bought another make instead.

Same here. Nothing wrong with actively choosing who to give your money to. Anyone paying Dyson or Boden prices has plenty of alternatives.

BishopBrennansArse · 04/01/2019 19:31

Oh and Wetherspoons is another one I boycott. Went in the other day to use their disabled loo and got Theresa May's mug beaming down on me from posters 🤢

LadyWithLapdog · 04/01/2019 19:32

Good point, what’s one thriving company going to the wall now when there’ll be milk and honey for all in 80 years’ time? An almost communist utopia there.

Mistigri · 04/01/2019 19:32

And anyone can shop where they like.

Well, exactly. And I don't like to shop at businesses run by brexiters.

Thanks to the OP for the heads up.

Bowchicawowow · 04/01/2019 19:35

How do some of you function in the real world if you get so incensed by people who hold different opinions to yours?

PersonaNonGarter · 04/01/2019 19:36

That’s capitalism, baby. Supply and demand.

And, er, you don’t feel a bit odd that you are hoping that successful businesses that employ a lot of people go under?

Or have you weird-logic-ed this so other people are the vindictive ones and you are lovely but, obviously, some businesses should die because their owners don’t think like you?

OVienna · 04/01/2019 19:39

I was in a Wetherspoons recently and frankly wondered how it might feel to work there, with all of the pro-Brexit paraphernalia everywhere you turned. I can't imagine coming to work in that environment if you were or had family from Europe. Or just plain didn't agree with Brexit!
It's a listed company too - not one man and his views, so to speak.

It's not okay because it's pubs and not an office. I couldn't put Remain posters all up over our place if I were minded to do so!

LadyWithLapdog · 04/01/2019 19:39

PersonaNonGarter - that was a flippant reply and I have expanded on my reply in another post. I don’t want the economy to tank. It’s brexit voters doing that. They are the ones saying sod workers rights, human rights, the environment, the economy. Do you get it?

Helmetbymidnight · 04/01/2019 19:41

So if a teenager wore it in the street - would you lynch her?

Ummm Grin

In your world is choosing not to shop somewhere the same as lynching a teenager?

How utterly bizarre.

Mistigri · 04/01/2019 19:41

How do some of you function in the real world if you get so incensed by people who hold different opinions to yours?

Perfectly well thanks. I'm not incensed by Johnnie Boden holding different views, but I choose not to give my money to disaster capitalists and right wing nationalists if I can avoid it.

Unfinishedkitchen · 04/01/2019 19:42

Boden PR team will be in overdrive. No Friday night drinks tonight! Boden have done a Ratner and made their brand look cheap and nasty!

Helmetbymidnight · 04/01/2019 19:42

How do some of you function in the real world if you get so incensed by people who hold different opinions to yours?

Incensed? GrinGrin is that what people are? Blimey.

I function very well, thank ye.

Bowchicawowow · 04/01/2019 19:43

Not all Brexiteers are right-wing Mistrigirl.

OrdinarySnowflake · 04/01/2019 19:44

I thought Johnie Boden was a remainer.

The London imagery, is that not more to do with them going international more and trying to push them as this quaint British middle class brand?

But agree, not getting Dyson stuff. Don't want to have to boycott boden though, their petite length jeans are perfect for me and I don't want to have to shop around for another brand. (Mutters darkly about how hard it is to find decent petite ranges these days)
