And to be rather upset about it if he is? The new collection features a lot of union jacks and the words "forget staying in" next to a pic of a mac with a wild union flag lining in the catalogue. And have you see the girls union flag dress? Feel I am in receipt of propaganda and where will I shop now?!?!

I’m sick to bloody death of Gary Linaker and Richard Branson telling the UK how they should have voted but it doesn’t mean to say I won’t watch Match of the Day or fly Virgin Atlantic Hmm

surferjet · 04/01/2019 17:54

Actually - I’ve stopped buying Delia Smith books because she’s a very vocal remainer.

JuneFromBethesda · 04/01/2019 17:59

I'm boycotting Wetherspoons. We had a copy of 'Wetherspoons News' put through our door - what a revolting piece of propaganda that was. One long rant in favour of Brexit, poking fun at those who supported Remain. I posted it back to them (no stamp) with a note telling them to keep their offensive rag to themselves.

Sadly I'm teetotal and almost never go into pubs anyway, so they never had my custom to lose in the first place, but it made me feel better!

JuneFromBethesda · 04/01/2019 18:01

Must go out and buy a Delia Smith book or two.

surferjet · 04/01/2019 18:05

She probably needs the money so good on you.
😂

BishopBrennansArse · 04/01/2019 18:06

Ah fab need more cookbooks, I'll get Delia's now, thanks for the heads up!

HollowTalk · 04/01/2019 18:09

He's three years older than Boris, but they were at Eton at the same time. Good guess, OP!

surferjet · 04/01/2019 18:10

My pleasure.
Although I doubt Delia is the celebrity chef of choice for remainers.

Buddytheelf85 · 04/01/2019 18:14

I see what you mean and also, as a PP observed, he hardly presents like an enlightened thinker.

Still, it would seems surprising that someone in his industry would be a Brexiteer. His business completely depends on selling cheap imports at a vastly inflated price. Surely the weak pound combined with dented consumer confidence is a disaster for those sorts of fashion businesses.

Perhaps he’s already got enough money that he doesn’t care. I suppose his mates will probably have voted for Brexit as well.

Littleoakhorn · 04/01/2019 18:15

Oh dear, how off-putting. The flag is the flag regardless of how you voted, but if it’s paired with references to Brexit he won’t be getting my €s.

I wonder if the catalogue is the same in other countries.

paintinmyhairAgain · 04/01/2019 18:15

ffs, so some people are boycott certain companies, god i bet the owners are getting really worried about that, not.
some pp on here need to stock up on more knickers as they seem to be getting them in a right twist Grin

LadyWithLapdog · 04/01/2019 18:20

Actually, boycotting with your £ has always been a legitimate way to go about things. Best to be informed beforehand so you know what you’re doing. It can be disheartening to think you’re making a minuscule dent, if any, but when your purchasing power is all you have, that’s better than shrugging and not caring.

LadyWithLapdog · 04/01/2019 18:22

Does anyone remember the Ratner example?

Mrskeats · 04/01/2019 18:24

paint patisserie Valerie is struggling in part because they are being boycotted.
I won’t support companies whose owners support a policy that is damaging my husband’s business. Sorry if you feel this is is Hmmunimportant.

PersonaNonGarter · 04/01/2019 18:27

This is ridiculous. Are you giving up your vacuum because James Dyson campaigned for Brexit? Hmm

BishopBrennansArse · 04/01/2019 18:27

I've boycotted Tesco due to their employment practices for ten years. Yes I'm one person and they may not miss my money but I feel better that my money hasn't gone to people who will happily see me confined to bed because I can't get my meds. And I consider myself luckier than those who will die without their meds, I'll just be immobile, vomiting and suffer horrendous withdrawal.

So yeah, I'm not giving those people my money.

BishopBrennansArse · 04/01/2019 18:29

@PersonaNonGarter I did, to start with I repaired the one I had with pattern parts so Dyson wouldn't benefit financially and used an EU immigrant to do the repairs but when it became terminally fucked I researched and bought a non brexit brand, yes.

ElonMask · 04/01/2019 18:34

I know lots of SNP members...

yeah, me too...Brexit is the result of small minded English nationalism in their eyes. their nationalism is quite different etc, joyous civic etc..vom.

MattFreisCheekyDimples · 04/01/2019 18:36

Ugh, I hate Boden clothes anyway, but this is an ugly new low whatever your politics. I think he may have misjudged his customer base though. I look forward to a huge dip in Boden's profits.

Mrskeats · 04/01/2019 18:40

Why is it ridiculous to consider where you spend your money?

DippyAvocado · 04/01/2019 18:40

Are you giving up your vacuum because James Dyson campaigned for Brexit?

I had a Dyson. It needed replacing. I didn't even consider looking at another Dyson because of his views on Brexit and bought another make instead.

PersonaNonGarter · 04/01/2019 18:41

‘An ugly new low’ in politics: Do you have any grasp of history? And a Boden catalogue qualifies?

Seriously, the hyperbole on here is just stupid. Spend your money where you like but don’t make out that this is anything other than low key tittle tattle.

Mrskeats · 04/01/2019 18:42

Me too dippy
They are so overpriced as well.

Mrskeats · 04/01/2019 18:43

Now the economy is tittle tattle.
The sort of thinking that got us in this enormous mess.

LadyWithLapdog · 04/01/2019 18:51

It’s not tittle tattle. Whether individuals, CEO of companies etc are Tory donors or Brexit supporters is easy to find out. There was a time, when my kids were much younger, when I was boycotting Nestle and their products. Interests change over time and it’s ok to use your consumer power for that.
