AIBU?

To ask how I survive a night with a baby and NO NAPPIES?!!!

Partner dropped baby off an hour ago...told me he had bought nappies. Ive been through bags...definitely no nappies...He's working tonight and will be miles away now. I have no one I can ask for help- neighbours elderly on one side, suffered very recent bereavement on the other side. Unbelievably my car is in garage and there are no shops within easy driving distance.
Does anyone have any ideas at all about what I can possibly do to get through night? Only use one nappy in night...usually change at 7pm and again at 6am. I've got swim nappies but sure they wouldn't work.
Got no other nappies in house.
Help!

How old?

Swim nappy will work.
Use a towel until bed time, then a swim nappy overnight.

Can you ask him to come back with some nappies?

Ring a taxi firm and ask them to drop some off. They do it for beer round our end so dont see why nappies would be an issue.

Swim nappy won't work, it doesn't hold fluids

Get creative with a sanitary towel/maternity pad and a muslin?

A swim nappy won't work. They don't absorb liquids, for obvious reasons.

Do you have any sanitary pads? Put them in swim nappy overnight? I'd go nappy free until bed..

Old hand towel or tea towel or pillowcase that you can throw out afterwards?

Do you have that amazon service that delivers within 2 hours? Or ask if a local taxi firm will pick some up and deliver them to you if you phone a shop and pay over the phone for them?

If all else fails you can fold some towels into terry style nappies and pin them with safety pins. YouTube might be helpful.

Phone a local taxi company. Most will take card payments over the phone so could take taxi fee plus extra for nappies.

What about texting a friend who might be able to drop one off.

Swim nappies don't hold wee... Just poo.

I would make an old fashioned Terry towel nappy out of a baby towel or hand sized towel. Line it with a spare muslin.

You'll get through it. But how annoying!!

Or there must be a friend or someone you can call? I've done emergency nappy/formula/Calpol runs for friends before

Just use a towel and fold it like a cloth nappy and use a safety pin. Its not difficult; and if you don't know how then Google it.

Muslins with cotton balls / roll or sanitary pad - folded hand towel like the old terry towels?

could you make a insert sort of thing with a old towel then put that in the swim nappy then you could take the towel out before you went to sleep and replace it ?

Get a taxi to nearest shop if there’s none in walkable distance

Amazon now - does 2 hr delivery in some areas?

Hand towel folded up into a long pad shape. Use the swim nappy as a wrap for it, to hold it in place. If you have swimming trunks then use them over the top to hold it all in place.

Have you got an old t-shirt you'd be happy to lose? There's DIY vids on YouTube involving tshirts AFAIK

I got a taxi firm to drop nappies to me once after my section. They charge usual fare plus £1 and the goods usually. Call one
