To ask how I survive a night with a baby and NO NAPPIES?!!!

Partner dropped baby off an hour ago...told me he had bought nappies. Ive been through bags...definitely no nappies...He's working tonight and will be miles away now. I have no one I can ask for help- neighbours elderly on one side, suffered very recent bereavement on the other side. Unbelievably my car is in garage and there are no shops within easy driving distance.
Does anyone have any ideas at all about what I can possibly do to get through night? Only use one nappy in night...usually change at 7pm and again at 6am. I've got swim nappies but sure they wouldn't work.
Got no other nappies in house.
Help!

Deliveroo won't deliver to where I live but will 10 minutes walk from my house :(
I envy those who get deliveroo.

On topic, I'm glad you found a solution :)

taxis in our area will deliver items. If you've got enough cash you could try that...good luck x

Thanks everyone. My plan didn't work brilliantly....there was some leakage. But baby slept well...skin wasn't irritated.......leakage was all on to towel...baby had lovely morning bath then went and got nappies. We now have a very large stash of Pampers. All ok now. Probably best solution in circumstances.
Massive thanks for incredibly kind people who offered to bring nappies and for everyone who contributed. Some of the messages really made me laugh...difficult to say if they were genuinely funny or I'm just sleep deprived. :-).
I might a start a campaign to bring Deliveroo/ Amazon fresh/ concierge services to my little back of beyond hamlet.
Night All!

Well done OP, glad it all worked out well.

Another country dweller here who finds the suggestions in this thread a bit hilarious!

dorisdog · 08/11/2018 21:11

ah, i realise you have it sorted. fab.

BrownCowStunning · 08/11/2018 21:15

Are there any local taxi companies that deliver things from shops? Where I live, the local taxi company will deliver things lime bread and milk to older people, and they deliver alcohol too (police usually turn a blind eye!). Obviously you'll have to pay the fare, but it'd be cheaper than you getting a taxi to the shops and home again.

BrownCowStunning · 08/11/2018 21:15

Ah just read the thread haha. Glad you got sorted!

Stockpile is the word of the moment (Brexit related lol).

So always have tea, coffee, milk, bread, flashlights, pasta, rice, drugs and NAPPIES!

Lighthearted, and glad you got sorted.

A towel will do in an emergency.

I once attended a home birth (midwife). 2am, baby safely born, weighed and measured... Asked dad for a nappy.
"Oh, I thought you brought them!"

AlpacaLypse · 08/11/2018 21:59

Grin goodnight OP and OP's LO!

If you have a large size food bag, cut it to open out. Use a towel, place opened out foid bag on towel, line with a tea towel and then use folding like old style terry nappy. Not the best or healthiest nappy but hopefully will do overnight. Do you have a waterproof mattress protector on cot/bed sheet, as that will also help.

Get a taxi somewhere with the baby to the nearest shop /petrol station. Take your debit card. Go back home. Go via uber maybe. Cheaper. Take baby back home. Done

angelfacecuti75 · 09/11/2018 00:46

Or use a towel. I once had a book called something like "how to do everything"& it advised parebts 2 do this.
