AIBU to not wear panty liners every day?

Tbh this is a complete new one for me. Was having a conversation with a friend yesterday who wears panty liners every day and has done since she was 15. I’d never heard of this before and told her so. She told me I was a manky minge Grin and that everybody wore them. Is this true? Thoughts please ....

I wear them but don't expect everyone else to do the same. I don't feel fresh without them

RiverTam · 07/11/2018 14:23

waste of money, bad for the environment. Why would you?

Haworthia · 07/11/2018 14:23

God, I can’t imagine being so scared of my vagina I’d need to wear panty liners every day.

flapjackfairy · 07/11/2018 14:23

I always do I must admit. I don't feel properly dressed otherwise !

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 07/11/2018 14:23

MIL does and thinks it's repellent that by the end of the day a woman's pants might smell as though they've been worn.

I think it's madness.

bruise · 07/11/2018 14:23

Nope. I only wear them if I'm right at the end of my period and it doesn't warrant using a tampon. Tell her to grow up, calling you manky lol.

ElBandito · 07/11/2018 14:24

Imagine how many she’s used and sent to landfill. And how much it’s cost her.

100% this

jusdepamplemousse · 07/11/2018 14:25

God that is so much rubbish info landfill.

No, not normal, although I have heard of this before.

YreneTowers · 07/11/2018 14:25

Some women need them every day. Others don't. Some women don't realise other women don't have the same experience as them.

Aquamarine1029 · 07/11/2018 14:25

I've never worn panty liners. How bizarre and sad for your friend. I wonder if this was something banged into her head by her mum, because I have never known anyone who wears panty liners in a daily basis.

ThistleAmore · 07/11/2018 14:25

No - I just wash my underwear after I've worn it, like a ... normal person.

@idontbelieveinthemoon .... you did make me chortle.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I thought I was being odd.

Maybe some people are more moist than others. I don't wear scented ones but I do wear them daily.

Littlefrog99 · 07/11/2018 14:28

I wear them every day but my 2 sisters and close female friends don't. They think I must have a dribbly foof if I have to wear them Grin

UpstartCrow · 07/11/2018 14:28

If I didn't I would never be able to laugh or sneeze without consequences.

hungryhippie · 07/11/2018 14:29

I never do, I just change my underwear.
I couldnt be bothered with the faff!

Stuckforthefourthtime · 07/11/2018 14:29

Horrific for the environment and not much good for her body (or wallet) either.
That said, I've had persistent thrush before and did wear washable liners until it was sorted, especially if wearing tight trousers - perhaps she actually has a medical issue and doesn't realise that most people don't need this level of absorption? Perhaps add Thinx period pants to her Christmas list?

Mari50 · 07/11/2018 14:30

Bad for the environment for a start.
Can’t fathom how anyone perceives panty liners to be hygienic or preferable to just pants, I always find that they ‘draw’ me (for want of a better expression) and make me feel less clean.

Some women need them every day. genuine question here- why ‘need’? What are other women experiencing that I have no concept of? Excess discharge? Constant spotting?

bonzo77 · 07/11/2018 14:30

I used to. But stopped. It’s healthier for my minge, my purse and the world. I use a cup for periods and might use a liner as back up but don’t even do that normally.

Sammysees · 07/11/2018 14:30

Is it an age thing do you think? I thought she had trouble with incontinence but she assures me it’s not. Maybe she’s just moist Grin
