I know I know. We should enjoy it but oh my god, I am so uncomfortable.

I've hardly slept for that past 3 nights. I feel irritable and headachey.
My living room is currently a toasty 29 degrees and that's with a huge fan and all of the windows open.

Please tell me I'm not alone with not loving a hot UK!
And before anyone says about all of the snow we had, I would much rather have that. Much easier to warm up than it is to cool down.

I feel like I'm the scrooge of summer!

Not at all unreasonable, 6 months pregnant with fingers like sausages and feet like hams. This sun can fuck right off!

Danceintherain2018 · 08/07/2018 20:24

Yanbu!! Bring on lots and lots of rain!

ForgotwhatIcameinherefor · 08/07/2018 20:24

Yes it’s gone on for too long now!

9amTrain · 08/07/2018 20:24

Yanbu. I actually thought I had heatstroke today, even indoors. Everything feels hot. The fan is blowing hot air. My arse is sweating. My eyelids are sweating. It's like Satan himself is breathing fire on me.

Zebraantelopegiraffe · 08/07/2018 20:25

Noooo don’t scare it away!!!

ilovesooty · 08/07/2018 20:25

Unlike the snow we had, this weather doesn't cause difficulties with commuting and getting to work.
I hate cold and snow in particular. For me it can stay like this indefinitely.

guccihandbag · 08/07/2018 20:26

Loving this weather!

canuck43 · 08/07/2018 20:27

This is the summer we deserve, hope the sun shines like this until about the end of November.

Notcontent · 08/07/2018 20:28

i am really enjoyijg the days but not the nights - i have trouble sleeping because of the heat and also there seems to be a lot of noise from other people being outside late into the night!

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 08/07/2018 20:28

Yes 9am the fans in this house feel like hairdryers at the moment and yes yes to everything sweating. Eurghh

We were at the beach on Friday and it was glorious with the sea breeze and ocean.

This isn’t weather for for anywhere but a beach or at a push a pool.

LanguidLobster · 08/07/2018 20:29

I'd love a good rainy grey day

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 08/07/2018 20:30

Yes I'd imagine a sea breeze would be amazing. I'm landlocked sadly. Heading to the coast next weekend if it's still like this.

It is totally and utterly unbearable and exhausting.

Theworldisfullofgs · 08/07/2018 20:31

This weather makes sense of my north east facing garden (and all our windows open that way). House is coolish.

WorldWideWanderer · 08/07/2018 20:32

I don't enjoy any of it, I love the cold. Hot weather is my worst hell. And to those who say heat doesn't cause problems for travellers and commuters....well, you haven't been on the London underground in the heat then!
Signalling meltdowns on trains, roads losing their tarmac, farmers losing crops, gardens parched, livestock desperate....water shortages, threatened hosepipe bans.... How is all this lovely?
I simply HATE a hot summer....

ThorsMistress · 08/07/2018 20:32

YANBU 7 months pregnant here and totally fed up 😩 I can’t seem to move a foot without breaking into a sweat!

Boulshired · 08/07/2018 20:33

I do think I need to start saving for a decent air conditioning system if this type of weather is going to be the norm in the future. My fans are just not working and I hate the noise of them.

Seasawride · 08/07/2018 20:33

Love it but I am not pregnant. I had my first baby Grinin 1989 and that summer beats this completejy. Boiling from June to sept so beware.

SinglePringle · 08/07/2018 20:33

I absolutely adore it. It’s glorious after one of the longest winters I can remember.

Long may it continue!

LanguidLobster · 08/07/2018 20:33

@Menarefrommars I hate to shatter your dreams but I'm on the coast and it's pretty still...! No discernable breeze, just heat.

And noisy belligerent gulls (I snickered a bit earlier when I heard some neighbours joke about 'roast seagull')

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 08/07/2018 20:34

All you pregnant ladies get my total sympathy. Horrific weather for pregnancy.
I remember it well.

welshweasel · 08/07/2018 20:34

It’s hideous. My bedroom is currently 31 degrees. Toddler has had to have aircon as otherwise wont sleep. Too hot to walk places, unpleasant to get in the car.

mellongoose · 08/07/2018 20:35

I love it, love it, love it. It'll be rainy and cold soon enough. As with every season, I'm happy to embrace what it offers 👓
