I wouldn't curtsy to ant of them tbh. She is apparently allowed to insist on this now.

OP posts:
Loopytiles · 22/05/2018 22:40

I wouldn’t curtsy to anyone!

Ellendegeneres · 22/05/2018 22:41

I wouldn’t. But only because it’d take me weeks to recover. I think she’s lovely, I don’t see the big deal

Tessliketrees · 22/05/2018 22:41

Anybody is allowed to insist on it.

I always insist on being curtsied to but hardly anybody does it.

Cheeky fucks.

MidnightAura · 22/05/2018 22:41

I wouldn't curtsy to anyone especially a Royal.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 22/05/2018 22:41

No, why would you? What have any of them done to earn that?

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 22/05/2018 22:41

Oh FGS, so what if she 'insists' on it, you wouldn't be thrown in the stocks if you didn't.

I am hoping this Meghan-specific hate isn't entrenched in racism or sexism, as people don't seem to bother to be annoyed by the many many royals who came along before Meghan

brizzledrizzle · 22/05/2018 22:42

I wouldn't curtsy to anybody so no.

See you in the Tower.

SaucyJack · 22/05/2018 22:42

She can't insist on it. What's she gonna do if you don't? Send you to Traitor's Gate?

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/05/2018 22:42

Not to any of them. I'm with Esme Weatherwax. I don't curtsy.

I can though. Ballet. I can do a mean one. I just won't.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 22/05/2018 22:42

She can insist on it all she wants (I doubt she would). I wouldn’t curtsy to anyone under any circumstances.

expatinscotland · 22/05/2018 22:42

I wouldn't curtsy to anyone.

SmilingButClueless · 22/05/2018 22:42

No, wouldn’t curtsey to anyone unless I wanted to entertain them with a comedy fall.

ShatnersBassoon · 22/05/2018 22:43

I curtseyed to a new boss once. So yeah, I probably would.

Bejazzled · 22/05/2018 22:43

I like the royals. I wouldn't curtsy and I'd bet my last dollar Meghan wouldn't expect anyone to do it either.

camelfinger · 22/05/2018 22:43

No. Mainly because it’s a horrible word, and an embarrassing gesture.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 22/05/2018 22:43

No, but I wouldn't curtsy to the Queen either. I'd do the polite head bob thingy when I shook hands.

However, I suspect I'm not due to be seeing any of them any time soon so it's not a major cause for concern Grin

KirstenRaymonde · 22/05/2018 22:43

I doubt she has any desire for people to curtsy to her, but I imagine a lot of people just do it automatically, that nervousness about ‘getting it right’ when the royal on the other really doesn’t mind at all.

Doobigetta · 22/05/2018 22:44

No. I probably would to the Queen, because she's old and it seems polite to hmour her. And I'd do a sort of half-way bob thing to Prince Charles so that no one was embarrassed, but not to anyone of my own generation or younger, and I'd think they needed to get a grip if they were offended.

Littlelambpeep · 22/05/2018 22:44

Nope. Never

UserV · 22/05/2018 22:44

Jesus Christ. So now Meghan is INSISTING on people bowing to her/curtsying ... Don't talk rubbish, of course she isn't! But she is a duchess now, (whether you like or not,) and most people will bloody curtsy. I doubt YOU will even ever meet her so don't worry yer wee head! Hmm

centralwerk · 22/05/2018 22:44

I wouldn't curtesy to anybody.

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/05/2018 22:44

Is anyone else now convinced curtsy isn't really a word. It feels odd in my brain now. Curtsy curtsy curtsy...

DickensianHysteric · 22/05/2018 22:44

I also wouldn't curtsy to anyone. I doubt any of them would actually insist on it, that would be terrible PR!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 22/05/2018 22:44

Despite being a royalist (because I think its better ultimately than a republic), I'd curtsey to no bugger!

LizzieSiddal · 22/05/2018 22:45

I’d only curtesy to the Queen and that’s because she’s an old lady and the Queen.

I doubt any royal “insists” on a curtesy.
