I wouldn't curtsy to ant of them tbh. She is apparently allowed to insist on this now.

The Queen has pulled a lot of governments out of a lot of shit. Camilla deserves a medal. Zara is the best eventer in the world unlikely to be equalled in my lifetime. There are a lot of people who are worthy of a curtsy. Zara isn’t royal btw

I have met the Queen and Prince Charles, didn’t curtesy to either and they didn’t appear to care one jot. ( as I would never have got up again they would have had to help me up which would have been fun if I pulled them down on top of me)

Yeah I have met the Queen and Charles too....LOADS of times... Last time was last week in Aldi. I felt embarrassed as I had just farted and I am sure Liz knew it was me.

This has to be one of the shittest compliments I have ever read.

Admittedly I have no idea what this means but I am pretty sure it has something to do with horses so the point stands.

Meghan seems rather nice, but no. I was actually at an event with the Queen a few years back. I thought about doing a curtesy (mainly for my mother's benefit), but didn't. I don't believe anybody is better than me, especially when their worth is based on the vagina they came out of.

we used to have to curtsey (sp?) to the nuns at boarding school, every time we walked past one of them. very tedious, all that bobbing about. I would curtsey to the Queen or Duke of Ed though, just because they are old.

How come everybody has met the Queen? She never shows her face around here.

She is royal. She’s the queen granddaughter. She’s not a royal highness though (hence no expectation of curtsying)

She has no royal title. She is related to royalty as are we all if we go back far enough

I dunno, everyone was pretty fucking awful about “jobless, waity-Katie” until Meghan came along and then suddenly she was up there with Saint Diana

This ^^

UserV we must go to the same Aldi, that’s where I met them. We had a bit of a chinwag about which were best cucumbers or courgettes then went on our way.

Equestrian events are just invented to give toffs a chance to pretend they are athletes.
Wouldn't curtsey, bow or scrape to any of them
.I'm with the French-they knew how to treat royalty. And the Russians

Nope and this is nothing against Megan because I wouldn't curtsy to anyone .

Imagine thinking you are beneath anyone or anyone is beneath you.

No not to a royal, I would however to a war veteran or someone who I had deep gratitude and respect for.

Haha yes I agree they are but yes I do live in the uk . it's just not the way I think or behave . Everyone should be treated with respect unless they behave in ways that mean they shouldn't .!which sounds idealistic I guess but it works for me . Never done the whole star struck by celebs thing either . People are just people !!

I recall an old thread on here about meeting famous people. A poster said she'd met Prince Edward and he said "You can just call me Sir".
Thankfully, she didnt.

I don't mind most of the royal family, but I'd never curtsy. And Edward and Andrew are such useless twats, aren't they?

Zara doesn’t have a royal title because they pass through the Male line and her father refused a title when he married princess Anne. She doesn’t have a royal title but she’s still a member of the royal family, she’s the queen’s granddaughter and she’s 16th in line to the throne! Just because she doesn’t have a title/hrh doesn’t mean she’s not part of the family she was born into Confused

I wouldn't curtsy/bow for anyone.

Salute a rank, nod my head in respect for those I respect. No problem. But there is no reason in my world for a subservience.

I am not British though, and would like your flag removed from mine ASAP.

I'd struggle to feel that I should curtesy. I was in the forces and met royalty twice, we saluted. I was fine with that, but curtsying? Nope.
