To wish fab Nicola was our PM

Her thoughts this morning

My first thoughts this morning are with service personnel called to action. Syria’s use of chemical weapons is sickening - but the question that the PM has not answered is how this action, taken without parliamentary approval, will halt their use or bring long term peace. #Syria

Sorry I know this misses the point but who is Nicola?

Absolutely agree the events in Syria are devistating Sadthose poor poor people it's never ending he'll

ElasticFirecracker · 14/04/2018 08:19

Sturgeon.

abiveve · 14/04/2018 08:20

A) The PM has answered how action will halt the use of chemical weapons.

B) have you seen the state of Scottish schools and infrastructure right now? Nicola Sturgeon is not the answer.

ForalltheSaints · 14/04/2018 08:22

Whilst I think Nicola Sturgeon would be better than either Theresa May or Jeremy Corbyn, the record of the SNP led governments in Scotland makes me think I wish we had a better choice than all three.

FleurDelacoeur · 14/04/2018 08:23

Jeez, no.

Horrid, divisive woman who is a one-trick independence pony.

She is disagreeing with bombing Syria because that is what she does - disagrees with anything the UK government does to show just how different the SNP is, Scottish opinion is and why we should be independent. it's ALL she is about. If Theresa May said everyone was getting a free kitten she would disagree with that too.

She's not "fab Nicola". I think you can probably add another word starting with F instead.

Could not imagine anything worse than having Nicola Sturgeon as PM.Currently living with the consequences of having her as first minister.

EmmaC78 · 14/04/2018 08:26

God no. I live in Scotland and she is making a right mess of things up here.

Shenanagins · 14/04/2018 08:27

Hmm fab Nicola. Maybe have a look at Scottish politics in particular hee party. It’s worrying how every single one of their msp/mp always toes the party line without question. That doesn’t happen in any other major political party.

Somethingveryrandom · 14/04/2018 08:27

Nope nope nope!

Angrybird345 · 14/04/2018 08:28

God no ..... no no no ...... vile vile vile woman

jnfrrss · 14/04/2018 08:28

Scottish schools maybe not perfect, but neither are English ones. She's head and shoulders better than may, corbyn, trump and Johnson.

May had a very weak answer as to how this would help.

Kissmycousinkate · 14/04/2018 08:29

Awful woman, you want to live here where schools and hospitals are poor. My local hospital maternity unit has closed meaning labouring women are travelling two and a half hours on terrible roads.

She is only interested in independence so will disagree with anything Westminster does.

Greymisty · 14/04/2018 08:29

Always liked her but I don't live in Scotland, always comes across as having her head screwed on straight and as if she just might have a soul.

RJnomore1 · 14/04/2018 08:30

Aw god take her if it gets her out of our hair.

Catspaws · 14/04/2018 08:30

I have a lot of personal admiration for Nicola Sturgeon as she's an incredibly competent and effective politician but the SNP have done a terrible job in Scotland. Our schools are failing, hospitals oversubscribed and in crisis, councils underfunded due in part to council tax freeze etc. I would never vote for her to be in government.

Agree with PPs - wish we had a better option than Sturgeon, May or Corbyn

SaucyJane · 14/04/2018 08:31

Have you actually talked to anyone Scottish or looked at what she's doing there?

YANBU to want someone other than the shower at Westminster.

YABVVVU to want that to be Nicola sturgeon.

LizzieSiddal · 14/04/2018 08:31

That’s your opinion but not others. I wouldnt vote for any of them at the moment but I’m glad May is in charge.

EmmaC78 · 14/04/2018 08:32

Everyone is head and shoulders better than Trump!

Overall I don't think she is better than any of the others.

Weezol · 14/04/2018 08:34

The Prime Minister in not required to seek Parliamentary approval for this decision.

Nicola should know this, and should also know that international military operations against dictators are not opportunities for trying to score cheap political points.

lettuceWrap · 14/04/2018 08:38

YANBU.
She’s an astute and skilled politician and is still pretty young (as far as political careers go she could easily have 20-25 years in her), so we may see her as PM yet - of an independent Scotland.

FleurDelacoeur · 14/04/2018 08:39

Nicola should know this, and should also know that international military operations against dictators are not opportunities for trying to score cheap political points

She does know this. She's a career politician and not a stupid woman. She knows exactly what she's doing, and with what end. Don't fool yourself that she is bothered in any way about Syria. She's bothered about independence for Scotland. End of story.

borlottibeans · 14/04/2018 08:39

I haven't heard what she said but it's very easy to make pronouncements about foreign policy when you don't have any means of following through so can't be held accountable if it turns out you're wrong.

Incidentally (since we're talking about Scottish education) the proportion of the poorest kids attending university is lower in Scotland than in England, partly because the schools are a mess and partly because our Nicola would rather continue to defend free uni fees (which would be paid back later by those earning enough) than provide enough funding for poorer students to pay their rent and bills while at uni (who need it now and are dropping out because you can't work the hours some of them need to work and still do well). So "it's worse in England" is not only a shoddy set of expectations for Scotland but also inaccurate.

Yogafailure · 14/04/2018 08:39

Oh dear God, I can't think of anything worse 🙈 I'm having a hard enough time sleeping just now without the thought of wee Nic as the PM 😫

ItsASairFecht · 14/04/2018 08:40

No to Nichola! Please never let it be! Unthinkably awful!
