Her thoughts this morning

My first thoughts this morning are with service personnel called to action. Syria’s use of chemical weapons is sickening - but the question that the PM has not answered is how this action, taken without parliamentary approval, will halt their use or bring long term peace. #Syria

Nicola has been abroad in China & HK, and will not have had access to anything like the level of detail about Syria that the PM gets to see.

LifeBeginsAtGin · 14/04/2018 08:41

'Fab' ?????

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 14/04/2018 08:42

Good lord NO!!

ocelot41 · 14/04/2018 08:42

I am not a member of the SNP, but still think NC is a very competent politician. Yes she makes mistakes (we all do) and Scotland is not nirvana. But she has a cool, sensible head on her shoulders, and her heart is in the right place, both of which count for a lot. After the Brexit result, she looked like the only grown up in the room.

FleurDelacoeur · 14/04/2018 08:43

schools are failing, hospitals oversubscribed and in crisis, councils underfunded due in part to council tax freeze etc. I would never vote for her to be in government.

But that's all fine, because we've got a telly ad with Carol Smillie showing us how to do CPR to the tune of the Proclaimers because the BHF "Staying Alive" campaign wasn't Scottish enough. Great use of funds I'm sure you'll agree. Hmm

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/04/2018 08:44

Fab Nicola ???

Jesus H Christ! Is this what well educated, well fed, cossetted, Western politics has come to? Fab?

I may just go out and dig that hole.. anyone got a decent lid?

donniemurdo · 14/04/2018 08:45

I find it interesting because I lived in England for nearly 20 years and moved back to Scotland nearly four years ago. My DC were born in England and now all are in school in Scotland and I work for universities. My experience of education and of the NHS is that it is much better than my experiences of both in England.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 14/04/2018 08:47

She's dreadfull!
Sous May, but no - I don't wish Nicola was our PM at all.

Willow2017 · 14/04/2018 08:49

Please take her, your welcome. She has one agenda and thats all.

elderwand90 · 14/04/2018 08:50

I don't agree however I would like to see ruth Davidson in charge. i think she is better than anyone else at the moment.

Igneococcus · 14/04/2018 08:50

I'd be quite happy for you have her.

Creambun2 · 14/04/2018 08:52

I hate this "cult" that some SNP supporters have around Sturgeon - seems mad to me that anyone who dares criticise the SNP or her is just shouted down - do SNP supporters really want a one party state?

jnfrrss · 14/04/2018 08:53

I really like the save a life advert, It would have cost next to nothing to make anyway.

Another person saying Scottish education is better. Why are people so negative about such a thoughtful and passionate educated women?

OP posts:
QueenLaBeefah · 14/04/2018 08:53

I live in Scotland and everything she touches turns to shit.

RockyBayEve · 14/04/2018 08:56

Horrid woman no thanks

TwitterQueen1 · 14/04/2018 08:57

No No and No again. Her agenda is one of personal power, disruptive policies and slagging off all and sundry all the time.

The PM does not need Parliamentary approval. The service personnel called to action are doing exactly what they've been trained to do. They don't need her patronage.

Yogafailure · 14/04/2018 08:57

Nodding along with @Creambun2 amongst others. I'd say NS was more obsessed and bitter, myself.

And as a teacher, education is turning to shit, it's true. I despair.

Babdoc · 14/04/2018 08:57

Under the SNP, Scotland’s schools have plummeted down the international league tables, well below England. The SNP have wasted £6 million on Gaelic road signs, they give free baby boxes to millionaires, they pay the fees for every EU student at Scots universities but charge English kids full fees, they make us pay higher income tax than anywhere else in the U.K., they cocked up the subsidy payments to farmers, leaving them waiting up to 2 years for their money, they’ve destroyed the Scottish economy so that it grows at less than half the rate of England, they’ve wrecked the property market with excessive stamp duty and they’re obsessed with breaking up the U.K. and making Scotland a poverty struck banana republic, with a 12% deficit, ie worse than Greece!
“Fab” Nichola - my arse. We need to get this poisonous crowd of nationalists voted out.

Oldbutstillgotit · 14/04/2018 08:59

Clearly the OP does not live in Scotland!

QueenLaBeefah · 14/04/2018 09:00

We spend £100 million a year giving middle class European kids free degrees - meanwhile my children's high school can't fill 3 maths treacher vacancies.

moreDetails · 14/04/2018 09:01

but the question that the PM has not answered is how this action, taken without parliamentary approval, will halt their use or bring long term peace

Parliamentary approval is not needed. Explanations of actions are a matter of National Security.

Thanks OP. Brightened my morning. Any more satirical gems?

She's a career politician and not a stupid woman.

You can be both and she clearly is.

Igneococcus · 14/04/2018 09:04

It took 53 weeks from me seeing my GP first with a swelling in my thyroid area to being fully diagnosed and put on a 12 week waiting list for surgery. This week was week 12 on this waiting list and I haven't heard peep from the hospital yet. Maybe the Scottish NHS is better than the English one but it certainly doesn't seem so to me.

lettuceWrap · 14/04/2018 09:04

Creambun, clearly you don’t know what a one party state actually is!

user1474652148 · 14/04/2018 09:06

Wtf?!
Errr no.....the idea of ‘Nicola’ being PM is ludricious!

Weezol · 14/04/2018 09:09

Fleur That was my point. A savvy politician would have supported the troops and left it at that.
Carrying on and making it an issue of party politics supports the view that she is a one trick pony.
