To wish fab Nicola was our PM

Her thoughts this morning

My first thoughts this morning are with service personnel called to action. Syria’s use of chemical weapons is sickening - but the question that the PM has not answered is how this action, taken without parliamentary approval, will halt their use or bring long term peace. #Syria

I agree with you. She’s the strongest leader this country has bar none. She’s make an excellent PM.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 14/04/2018 09:12

First reply who’s Nicola - What a brass neck
Anyhoo, I’m mixed about Nicola sturgeon, she has some good qualities but can have skewed priorities too. The cuts to FE sector
I Like her passion, she’s principled and clever. Background as solicitor who supported DV organisation
BUT compared to the cadaver in a dress that is Theresa May, Nicola is genius and decisive

FleurDelacoeur · 14/04/2018 09:12

Fleur That was my point. A savvy politician would have supported the troops and left it at that. Carrying on and making it an issue of party politics supports the view that she is a one trick pony.

Maybe "clever" was the wrong word. Calculated might be a better one. And backed up with her snivelling minions who unlike politicians are not allowed to express any dissent with the glorious leader. And what about our former First Minister? Oh yeah, he's best buddies with Putin and hosting a chat show on his telly station.

Wonderful.

SaucyJane · 14/04/2018 09:13

Her desperation for Scottish independence above anything else reminds me of what Rhett says to Scarlett about Ashley Wilkes in "gone with the wind" - that she's like a child crying for the moon.

"And what would a child do with the moon if it got it? What would you do with independence?" ??!

FleurDelacoeur · 14/04/2018 09:13

who unlike politicians - meant unlike politicians of any other party.

BMW6 · 14/04/2018 09:15

You have GOT to be kidding OP Hmm

QueenoftheSilverDollar12 · 14/04/2018 09:16

She's the elected head of a devolved administration so has no powers whatsoever, although she thinks she's on a par with May/Corbyn etc. She's made an arse of stuff up here and continues to divide the country with her delusions of grandeur. What @FleurDelacoeur said - much more eloquently than me.

CackleCrackle · 14/04/2018 09:17

Oh yes, a leader of the UK that wants to destroy the UK...erm no thanks.

And you’re mistaking populist sound bites for real leadership. See how NS has treated the votes of the Scottish Parliament in detail.

QueenoftheSilverDollar12 · 14/04/2018 09:18

Do you live in Scotland OP?

LucilleBluth · 14/04/2018 09:20

Fab....fab...cringe.

Delphinius · 14/04/2018 09:21

I moved to Scotland from SE England 5 years ago. I've found a much better healthcare system (from my personal experiences), a more progressive tax system (I pay more but I'm happy to for a fairer society), I have one child in local primary and don't have any issues with education system. The political landscape is different (more aligned with my own views - not one single area of Scotland voted in favour of Brexit), elections not based on FPTP and consequently there's a greater influence of smaller parties leads to increased focus and actions on things like renewable energy.

I can't see myself ever moving back to England.

lettuceWrap · 14/04/2018 09:22

Igneococcus, I hope you hear about your treatment very soon. You shouldn’t have to do this, but get proactive, chase up your appointment by phoning GP, Consultant’s secretary etc.

The NHS is being (quite deliberately) starved of resources (both money and staff), it’s on its knees. DH is a Dr with several management roles which encompass a number of health boards in Scotland. Things are dire.
He’s no fan of the SNP but he is very certain that the SNP’s policies have protected NHS Scotland (and therefore it’s patients), from some of the worst things that are happening in NHS England... the situation is worse there.

moreDetails · 14/04/2018 09:22

FleurDelacoeur

And today's the day the former Dear Leader lost his case with the press regulator after he read "tweets from viewers" which a paper called fake news.

He insisted he was not guilty of fake news - but the watchdog found against him, ruling that it was fair to apply the term to the row over his show.

When Mr Salmond's chat show began on RT, Russia's global propaganda channel, he read out several tweets which he said had been sent by members of the public. But two of the tweets did not appear to exist - while another was only sent AFTER the show went out, and a fourth was from the programme's director.

the watchdog ruled against him and said that it was justified to describe the claims against the show as "fake news".

No wonder she's trying to divert attention away from the SNP and using British troops as a pawn.

MaggieMagpie1 · 14/04/2018 09:23

I couldn't think of anything worse. She doesn't care about Syria or anything other than the disastrous thought of an independent Scotland.

BrashCandicoot · 14/04/2018 09:25

Nicola doesn't give a shit about anything other than SNP party line so YABU.

Scotland is not the land of milk and honey.

CackleCrackle · 14/04/2018 09:25

It’s not magic though is it, the reason that some things in Scotland are better (I disagree about education) is the Barnett formula, Sturgeon has more money to put in than RUK does, and more money than Scotland could raise on its own.

Scotland may be better because it is subsidised. People forget that in their clapping at NS’s sound bites.

WickedGoodDoge · 14/04/2018 09:26

Gosh. I just might vote for independence if it meant the rest of the U.K. getting Nicola Sturgeon instead of us. Grin

TheSassyAssassin · 14/04/2018 09:28

No....no....no....no....no...just say NO!

TheEgregiousPeach · 14/04/2018 09:30

Good grief, 'fab' Nicola? No thank you.
My favourite Nicola Sturgeon moment was when Ruth Davidson told her to 'SIT DOWN NICOLA!' in parliament. I fell a little bit in love with Ruth that day...

CackleCrackle · 14/04/2018 09:30

I’m with you wicked except that the first thing she’d do would be about dismantling the UK and making sure that Scotland had no part of the national debt whilst departing it on the most advantageous terms possible for scotland.

BawbagWilbury · 14/04/2018 09:31

Same here only I have 3 dc in School (one high school), no issues at all. Oh and they all have gaelic so can read the 'waste of money' road signs!

Weezol · 14/04/2018 09:32

Wicked If that happened I'd be gathering the DIY SOS lot to round up volunteers to rebuild the bloody wall. She's your problem, you deal with her. We've got enough idiots already.

TheEgregiousPeach ohh good another ruth Davidson fan.

RedDwarves · 14/04/2018 09:41

Perhaps you should listen to the Scots on this because, you know, they're the ones who have experienced her politics firsthand.
