Her thoughts this morning

My first thoughts this morning are with service personnel called to action. Syria’s use of chemical weapons is sickening - but the question that the PM has not answered is how this action, taken without parliamentary approval, will halt their use or bring long term peace. #Syria

I think Nicola is a fine politician and her Scottish government are doing a good job in difficult times. From news reports and articles it seems the heath service, care for the elderly and the education system here in Scotland are fairing better than England. That’s where all the horror stories about failing schools and hospitals seem focused. Anyone coming out with the old clap trap about Sturgeon or the SNP being a ‘one trick pony’ would benefit from actually reading up on all they have done!

AGreatBigPonk · 14/04/2018 15:11

YAB totally U.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 14/04/2018 15:12

That’s not a flattering comparison, snigger
As an aside someone told me the Krankies allegedly were umm adventurous in their sexual proclivities
Eww,just no

CackleCrackle · 14/04/2018 15:14

Any govt would do better thank rUK with more money to spend. The SNP Neely have the luxury of easier choices, and they’ve still made some bad ones.

BlueEyedBengal · 14/04/2018 15:14

No, no , no, never will I ever vote for Nics ever, not a chance everAngry

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 14/04/2018 15:15

no i think she is English hating and divisive,

londonrach · 14/04/2018 15:17

Stuff of nightmares...please dont do that op. What with trump and her...help us someone

5cats · 14/04/2018 15:21

Iamyourequal you are joking are'nt you! In my area we are experiencing exactly the same problems as England is regarding the NHS, elderly care and as for education the Curriculum for Excellence fiasco and lack of teacher uptake, i think we may be in two different Scotlands by the sounds of it.
We call wee Nicola Elsie in this area. Because she always alludes to everything as being somebody elses fault Grin

QueenoftheSilverDollar12 · 14/04/2018 15:22

I heard they were ahem swingers @LipstickHandbagCoffee 😷 if that's not enough to give you the dry boak I don't know what is.... 😕

SilverySurfer · 14/04/2018 15:23

Has April Fool''s Day come late this year? No, she is not better than May. No, May is not required to ask for Parliamentary approval. They aren't bombing miscellaneous locations but specifically the factories where chemical weapons were made which have been used by Assaad against his own people.

As FleurDelacoeur correctly said, she is disagreeing with bombing Syria because that is what she does - disagrees with anything the UK government does to show just how different the SNP is, Scottish opinion is and why we should be independent. it's ALL she is about. If Theresa May said everyone was getting a free kitten she would disagree with that too.

She's not "fab Nicola". I think you can probably add another word starting with F instead.

Fishface?

Hereshopingforimprovement · 14/04/2018 15:24

Yabvu. Scotland is a mess. Healthcare is a shambles as is education. Seeing the state of schools fills me with worry as I have a child with additional needs who I really fear for. He will be railroaded into mainstream school and it's wrong.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 14/04/2018 15:26

" If Theresa May said everyone was getting a free kitten she would disagree with that too. "

Grin i so want a free kitten...

Grilledaubergines · 14/04/2018 15:26

Christ no. I wouldn’t want Nicola Sturgeon as a door stop.

Mari50 · 14/04/2018 15:27

Hahaha, can’t believe posters actually believe the Scottish government are doing a good job re the nhs- it’s a fucking disaster.
As for education- attainment has dropped throughout snp government, curriculum for excellence is a joke.....
The depressing thing is that there is no viable alternative as every party appears to be utter shit.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 14/04/2018 15:29

I am Scottish through and through and live in Edinburgh. Have done for 95% of my life.

I could punch Nicola all day and never get tired.
Don't think I'd struggle to find someone to hold her down either.

BearFoxBear · 14/04/2018 15:29

I'm in Scotland and I think she's doing a fine job under difficult circumstances. I've worked with her and she's principled and good at sorting out problems. Our NHS is in a much, much better state than down south (I work with NHS in both regions). Our schools likewise. As higher rate taxpayers dh and I support the new income tax system. Baby boxes - brilliant idea.

On Syria, she's right. Scotland takes in a large number of refugees, unlike the rest of the UK. May is happy to bomb, but not happy to take in displaced people. She's a disgusting disgrace of a woman, complete charlatan only trying to hang on to her job. I despair of people who support her on this or anything else.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 14/04/2018 15:30

If Sturgeon and Corbyn get together at the next election we will have a perfect socialist distopia that rips the UK apart and begs our EU overlords to rescue us. Grrrr, gives me nightmares thinking about it.

trixymalixy · 14/04/2018 15:32

Maybe if you paid attention to the things that Nicola actually does in Scotland rather than her sound bites you’d have a different opinion of her OP. The SNP are ruining Scotland.

QueenoftheSilverDollar12 · 14/04/2018 15:34

It's posts like this that makes me wish MN had a like button.....

AmIthatbloodycold · 14/04/2018 15:34

Fab Nicola Hmm

Walkingdeadfangirl · 14/04/2018 15:43

Doesn't she fly around in a helicopter with a picture of her face on the side of it. Looks ridiculous, very egotistical.

IamSerena · 14/04/2018 15:49

Agree. She's an excellent politician and would make a first rate PM. She is very astute and is one of the few politicians left in the UK to stick to her principles.

FleurDelacoeur · 14/04/2018 15:49

Baby boxes - brilliant idea

Or alternatively, Baby boxes - massive waste of money which could have been targeted much more effectively into the people who really need assistance rather than giving middle class mums a freebie? Nippy likes to go on about how progressive she is and how Scotland is "fairer" but it's really not fair at all to treat everyone the same.

And don't even get me started on the Curriculum for Excellence and the enforced Scottish-ification of everything. Scottish Wars of Independence are so popular on the curriculum that my kids have been taught it twice. Just in case the "subtle" message doesn't sink in the first time. A whole new system of exams and assessment was pushed through with zero money and zero training for teachers for no apparent reason. Some schools are brilliant - I'm lucky in that my kids are in a very high achieving schools with dedicated teachers who go far above and beyond. But their school is great despite the CfE, not because of it.

And I think it's outrageous that we're giving free Uni education to students from Malaga when someone from Manchester has to pay full whack. But we don't want any of those English people contaminating our Unis anyway, do we? Hmm

CackleCrackle · 14/04/2018 15:57

Baby boxes were yet more about the SNP branding themselves as cool - they could have given vouchers to low income families to buy baby kit at Asda etc so rather than giving everyone the same set of gender neutral clothes - yet more nonsense from them.

I’m glad we just missed them, would have been totally wasted on us.

MrsJayy · 14/04/2018 16:00

Pfft Baby boxes total waste of money while baby clinics are closing mothers are becoming isolated, but aye Nicola give a free box and a vest because thats what gives every Scottish baby an equal start!
