When transactivists threaten a woman organising a clothes swap on Facebook and get the venue to stop the event just because they don't like the views of the organiser.

Not in my name

When transactivists threaten women on twitter and tell them to 'suck my lady penis'.

Not in my name

When transactivists threaten women with hate laws and call in the police because they express their opinions.

Not in my name

When transactivists demand access to single sex spaces despite not bothering with thinking about how the women might feel.

Not in my name

When transactivists shut down venues and silence people who have their own concerns over what is going on.

Not in my name.

Love your posts op and I second every one of them.

Amazing how ‘anti-trans’ us good old fashioned transsexuals are isn’t it 😂

The latest I was getting on sm was that I’m a traitor because I..erm...don’t believe I was born a woman.

PleaseDontGoadTheToad · 02/04/2018 22:53

Seriously though, can someone please explain how exactly this thread is anti-trans? How exactly is the OP being transphobic here?

Or am I wasting my energy even asking these questions because nobody is going to bother to answer me...?

#transrightsarehumanrights

I’m taking that hashtag. It’s true.
I’m just adding

#transrightsarenotthesameaswomensrights

It’s clunky, but hey.

I think because “transphobic” means “shut up, I’m offended”.

circle has it...

waterlego6064 · 02/04/2018 23:26

The latest I was getting on sm was that I’m a traitor because I..erm...don’t believe I was born a woman.

It’s one thing to demand that others go along with one’s own gender identity, but quite another level of batshittery to try to convince someone they have their own identity wrong. Gaslighting taken to extremes! 😂

Truscum · 03/04/2018 00:01

It’s getting quite tense out in social media land waterlego.

All I have to do to send a gaggle of TRA’s into fits of apoplexy is to say ‘No, I’m not a woman. Even if I no longer have a penis. I am biologically male.’

They lose their minds! How dare I say that about...myself. Hmm

I previously mentioned my surgery very little as a) it never seemed relevant and b) it was uncomfortable for me. I’ll happily shout about it now to get my point across though. And it seems to be a strange fixation point for these people.

Surely they say I must believe that I was born a woman, that I am exactly the same and have the same experiences as a woman? And they say that repeatedly. Even though I repeatedly say ‘No!’.

Terftastic · 03/04/2018 00:27

If you are who I think you are, Truscum, I follow you on Twitter, and you really do get some abuse thrown at you...

I'd say the outrage by TRAs (people like Helen/Mermaids, Guiliana, Sarah Brown/LGBTLD etc) has ramped up a fair bit recently - it's gone up a notch with each of:

The meeting in the HOC - Man Friday - The Guardian articles this weekend - Kiri Tunk's appointment. Plus a few more.

I really think they are trying to sneak this legislation in - and are raging that word is getting out - that people are beginning to say 'hang on a minute...'

Mumsnet will be targeted - it's driving them crazy that we can talk here, and they can't block us, or control our conversation. I don't think they'll come and talk on the boards though - they'll target HQ.

Hey Tru, over the last couple of months I have been reading your posts out to DD who has trans friends that she worries about with all this hoopla. She just told me to tell you that she loves you and your postsSmile.

As a member of this next generation, she really appreciates all of you on MN who are stepping up and fighting for real equality and safety.

Not all of the young have drunk the Kool-aid, and they are afraid of the future. So please know that there are still some that are very grateful to all of you, and your efforts are not going unnoticed.Flowers

Have only read about 2/3rds of thread but blood boiling about Major Twatface. FOTTFSOFATFOSM.

As you were. Big born female/happy to welcome genuine trans/definitely not CIS hugs.

Ereshkigal · 03/04/2018 01:07

I don't agree with you on everything OP but I'm sorry you're caught up in this shit Thanks

YY. They are all about control.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 03/04/2018 01:17

Yes it will be targeted.
They show themselves more and more as men who want to keep women in their places as each and every day passes.

EverlastingLove · 03/04/2018 01:41

Most under the radar men and women with a certain past who have lived quiet unassuming lives have stopped posting mostly on here and even reading the posts

due to the personal attacks I gave up all my charity work , and I am not trans per say ,

I worked in G& O medicine until retirement , I have spoken to a number or surgeons with a certain past , perhaps you don't realise by upsetting people its going to affect many en and womens health !

the sad thing I know most of the feminists , I spoke to a number of out well contacted Men with a certain past , who tell me they have been cut dead by some of the feminists , whom they have known 30+ years

we have tried being polite , we have tried to engage , but all we have got in return is abuse !

so when your G&O services get cut , or your Orthopaedic unit closes that's because us oldies left opposing cuts , have walked away due to abuse on this platform and a few others , don't blame us we are now doing what we should have done ears ago , enjoying our retirement

Oh yeah?

Women, specifically feminists are abusing doctors, gynae in particular?
Can the RCOG confirm this?

SecretsRsecrets · 03/04/2018 03:41

*@EverlastingLove * I've read a couple of your posts before and I have to admit to being a bit confused by what you write.

It sounds like you believe MN is not welcoming transpeople, do I have that right? Are you aware that you are posting on a thread written by a transwoman? This is also a thread full of support for all of the transwomen who have posted on it.

Are you bringing the narrative that you are reading in the media and assuming that is how MNers really think?

I do sympathize with you as I remember the history that you detailed, but I also think that you have misunderstood what is being discussed here.

Please have a read through the threads yourself. You will find that transphobia is not welcome in the debates on MN. The posters here are concerned with women's safety and spaces.

Transpeople are welcome in the discussions as you will see. We all want transpersons to have their rights to equality and safety as well. It is the violent trans activists (TRAs/MRAs) that people here are against and the erosion of women's rights.

nooka · 03/04/2018 03:58

That was a really incomprehensible post. What are "men and women with a certain past" and ''out well contacted Men with a certain past'?

You are arguing that the posts of gender critical women on Mumsnet are somehow responsible for cuts to medical services as well as your personal decision not to engage in charity work - why? How is this related to yetanothertranswoman's feelings about transactivists?

TheMythicalChicken · 03/04/2018 04:26

Thanks for posting yet. I cried when I read your post, I feel so sorry for you and other trans people like you. I knew quite a few trans people and drag queens when I was growing up. They were all without exception lovely, stable, interesting, funny, NON-AGGRESSIVE people. I just don't understand where this new breed of trans person has come from. It's like they're not 'proper' trans people, they're just entitled blokes hitching a ride on the trans bandwagon in order to intimidate women and benefit from the privileges that women have.

Floisme · 03/04/2018 07:32

Thank you again for this thread Yet and also to Jenny and Truscum. I guess I already had a fair idea of what you were up against but this thread has been most enlightening.

I also agree with Pencils (previous page). I hope we can support each other.

AnotherQuoll · 03/04/2018 08:45

Yes, that's it, majorP. Your posts are exactly like those from the militant, activist-trans we're discussing. If only you could upload an anime avatar here, for added effect.

Nevermind the majorP in the thread, YetAnother, everyone else is genuinely here to hear what you have to say. Thank you for saying it.

JennySelf · 03/04/2018 09:07

EverlastingLove I am sorry to see you write this.

But I understand how you came to feeling that way.

I've lurked on some of the threads you've posted on, and I've stayed lurking even when unpleasantness has been directed at you and others.

I'm sorry for my silence. And I will be silent no more.

In my opinion that is exactly who the ‘nu-trans’ are. I don’t think they actually believe this farce any more than we do, but it serves their purpose (and seems to garner them support from easily impressionable and desperate to be ‘right on, burn the establishment!’ youngsters)

SecretsRsecrets thank you Flowers

EverlastingLove so you aren’t trans ‘per say’ but gave up charity work because of gender critical feminists? Have I got that right?

I too am worried about the cutting of services and a proper, actual, real far right backlash. But all of those things aren’t going to happen because of gc feminists, it’s going to happen because of the TRA’s insisting their rights, sexual thrill seeking and feelings trump everybody else’s, even reality itself.

And I don’t particularly think trans surgeons being upset by gender critical people is going to close down any units.

Presumably a surgeon would have a good grasp on the difference between male and female biology, one would hope Confused

Tomselleckhaskindeyes · 03/04/2018 09:23

I just want to give my support for you OP. Your needs are being overshadowed and I feel genuinely sorry for people who have made the difficult decision to transition. I also feel sorry for children who are exploring who they are and their own sexual identities and have trans issues shoved down their throats. I am of the opinion that their can’t be all of these people who have body dysmorphia and it is making it harder for those who do. ❤️
