When transactivists threaten a woman organising a clothes swap on Facebook and get the venue to stop the event just because they don't like the views of the organiser.

Not in my name

When transactivists threaten women on twitter and tell them to 'suck my lady penis'.

Not in my name

When transactivists threaten women with hate laws and call in the police because they express their opinions.

Not in my name

When transactivists demand access to single sex spaces despite not bothering with thinking about how the women might feel.

Not in my name

When transactivists shut down venues and silence people who have their own concerns over what is going on.

Not in my name.

Flowers Thank you.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 02/04/2018 11:42

They aren't you.

These are displays of classic male aggression and mysoginist behavior. They do the want to we women (no matter how much they say they actually are).

It's very confusing as they seem to really dislike women and have a free pass to say/do what they want.

yetanothertranswoman · 02/04/2018 11:46

I've seen a real change in the press recently and I really worry about personal ramifications as life is generally ok now - after a really tough time transitioning. I generally slip under the radar and don't get noticed which is fine by me.

But then the push to self ID and the complete denial of any possible issues from prominent trans activists and the mantra 'transwomen are women" being used to silence women is just creating an environment that is going to explode sometime.

Our lives are different. There are real concerns but trans activists are silencing women.

One of them decided to target a pub that was hosting a clothes swap organised by a prominent critic of self ID. The clothes swap was just a clothes swap but because the activist was targetting this person, the pub stopped the event.

Not in my name.

I feel this is all so unfair to all those trans people who have happily lived their normal lives for so long, being encompassed into the extreme and radical trans agenda.

One of the instructors at my (women only) gym is a trans female - she doesn’t really pass, and is treated with respect, politeness and courtesy by everyone. But after all this trans idiocy blew up I found myself feeling resentful towards her as being “one of them” and had to give myself a swift talking to that although she has “invaded a women only space” she doesn’t get changed in the changing room, I’ve never seen her use the shower etc. I feel sorry that the actions of some trans activists made me change my view (in the short term) about a perfectly nice person going about their business.

puckingfixies · 02/04/2018 11:54

Thank you yet, I hope those who won't sign the petition because it's 'anti trans' read your post and rethink. If they really want to support trans people they need to stand with you against the Trans Rights Activists.

MyAuntyBadger · 02/04/2018 12:02

puckingfixies completely agree, I wish people could see that being concerned about self id is not the same as transphobia. Genuine trans people are as worried as women are.

AlpacaLypse · 02/04/2018 12:03

Some Flowers for you @yetanothertranswoman and Chocolate too! I'm having a real falling out with dd2 who has only so far ever encountered genuine trans people and can't comprehend why I am so worried about the shouty TRAs. I'm worried sick that she's going to meet them the hard way.

Floisme · 02/04/2018 12:12

Thank you so much for speaking out yetanother. Have some more Flowers

MsMcWoodle · 02/04/2018 12:14

Yet - Flowers Cake.

BettyBaggins · 02/04/2018 12:16

The person you mention in regards to millwall appears to run workshops for young people. As she encourages violence I am not sure her employers or funders would be very impressed to learn of such behaviour. There are far worthier trans artists and educators who spread love not fear.

FencingFightingTorture35 · 02/04/2018 12:17

I feel for you so much OP along with all other trans people who have experienced distress and who just want to live a quiet life. The current aggression from TRA's is only going to harden people against you and you don't desrve that.

As a woman who is frightened by the direction everything is going in I can't say how grateful I am that you are speaking up. It will make people stop and take note. Your voice does have weight. You are an important part of the debate.

Tistheseason17 · 02/04/2018 12:17

Nice to see a supportive trans post.
Well done, OP. I cannot imagine having to live with this daily, just because my inside and outside did not match my apparent gender when I was born. Flowers
I do hope the a**holes are in the minority.

When yet another anti-trans thread is started on MN.

Not in my name

Terftastic · 02/04/2018 12:19

When has Venice Allan encouraged violence?

yetanothertranswoman · 02/04/2018 12:20

When yet another anti-trans thread is started on MN

Can you explain how a transwoman can start an anti-trans thread?

OP posts:
Terftastic · 02/04/2018 12:20

YANBU, OP, obviously.

yetanothertranswoman · 02/04/2018 12:21

When has Venice Allan encouraged violence

I think that post refers to one of the vocal critics of the clothes swap.

OP posts:
Terftastic · 02/04/2018 12:23

@BettyBaggins, can you confirm you are not suggesting Venice Allan "encourages violence" ?

Terftastic · 02/04/2018 12:25

That "Liv" person? AH, I see what you mean.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 02/04/2018 12:27

@yetanothertranswoman we completely understand, and stand by you, as you stand by us. Thanks

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 02/04/2018 12:32

Flowers for you OP. I can’t imagine how frustrated you are by being represented by the idiots trotted out and honoured in the press, who constantly push their misogyny.

I totally agree that this could well lead to attacks on trans people like you. 1. By generally prejudiced idiotic members of the public who will lump you all together and 2. By TRAs.

I stand with you here OP, I have so much respect for what you’re dping. Thank you.

MermaidHead · 02/04/2018 12:32

Well said OP!👏

catgirl1976 · 02/04/2018 12:32

Thank you OP

It must be horrendous seeing this current wave of TRA's (many of whom are not event trans themselves) hijack your life and experiences and cause division where there didn't need to be any.

I believe we can support trans people and be inclusive without self id, without having to proclaim that people can change their biological sex and certainly without the violence and misogyny that the TRA's are spouting. I am sorry they are doing this.

pigsDOfly · 02/04/2018 12:33

It's a brave person who feels able to stand up and speak against these transactivists, so many people seem afraid to challenge them.

First and foremost always keep yourself safe OP.

Rachie1973 · 02/04/2018 12:33

yetanothertranswoman

I've tried to keep my head low and keep out of all this. But no more.

Please don't. I want to hear your voice, and your opinions.
