AIBU To ask that the BBC stops discriminating against men and boys by not allowing them to have a Men's Hour on radio 4.
Women have a woman's hour to discuss and air issues for women, but men do not.
If we want equality shouldn't we ask the BBC to give men the same, after all what harm would it do to us if men had the same arena to discuss there issues.
Equality means the same rights for all.

From the remarks made on this posting I feel that the issue I have mentioned has not been understood and that woman's hour is not listened to by the people making comments.
The reason for asking what peoples opinions were was that I felt that an injustice is taking place regarding the lack of a men's hour on RADIO 4.
It is clearly discriminating to provide a service and platform to discuss issues of interest to one sex, women and girls, and not for men and boys.
There is no programme on the BBC network that provides a regular slot every day at the same time for men to listen to and discuss matters that affect there lives, as there is for women.
A lot is spoken about regarding gender equality, especially on woman's hour, but only for women.
I would like an hour on RADIO 4 where I could here topics discussed by men for men, either before or after woman's hour where the audience is guaranteed.

Again: post the link to the petition you’ve set up. Get some men to campaign for what they want. Stop bleating about it pointlessly on mumsnet. If this is such a concern for you, do something about it.

Every hour is 'Mens hour' that is why women get a 'womens hour'

So I think we should maybe be aiming to get more womens issues spoken about generally and then we would no longer need a womens hour.

Also i deffo think we need a dedicated 'white peoples hour' and a 'heterosexual hour' and an 'able bodied hour' because these groups never ever get to talk publicly without interruption do they?

Farmers do get there own programme at 0545 every day on Radio 4.
Women get there programme at 1000 every weekday at 10, plus an hour on Saturday, Men get nothing of there own.
I have just listened to todays edition of woman's hour, the level of Misandrist content was astonishing.
Woman's hour is constantly going on about equality of opportunity etc. between the sexes, but fails to see that women's hour is the ONLY sexist programme on radio 4, or anywhere I have heard.
Seems to be a case of we are all born equal, but feminist are born more equal than others. To have views about a particular issue is one thing, but to be able to spout them on the radio in such a discriminating way is hypocritical.
The Female correspondent who wrote on this subject in a national newspaper recently was quite right, this inequality needs to stop.
