I can't be the only person who does this...

Help settle something for DH & me. DH is laughing at me again (before anyone jumps on accusing DH of emotionally abusing me - this is lighthearted!) because when I get out of the shower or bath I like to sit wrapped in my towel until I'm dry. I hate rubbing myself dry with a towel and would rather sit for 10mins until I dry naturally. DH thinks I am utterly odd for doing this and thinks that everyone else in the world dries themselves with a towel "the normal way".

Tell me I'm not alone in this!

I prefer to dry sat in the towel. You are not the only one.

No you are not alone! I always do it. If I rub myself dry I itch terribly, so badly that I use a hairbrush with sharp bristles to scratch myself sometimes until I bleed. Drying naturally minimises or eliminates this!!!!!!

My dh does this and I don't get it. He will sit there for 20 minutes just 'drying'
I think it's an excuse for him to sit and do nothing

I'm with DH, though I wouldn't laugh at you - I'd be more and wondering if you were getting whatever you were sitting on damp through the towel (ever practical)

OMG. I thought I was the only person in the world that happened too. It's awful isn't it!

You are not alone op! I do exactly the same, towel wrapped round and sometimes a towelling robe over that. Never thought about this before.

But what do you do in the 10 minutes you're sat there in a towel? Isn't it really boring - and cold? I'd much rather get dry quickly and get on with things.

I use it as an opportunity to read a book with a cup of tea for ten minutes!

Haha I do this too! If I'm really naughty I get into bed damp! Hate going swimming or something where I have to dry myself and put my clothes straight on.

I also never feel that I dry properly by rubbing

I dry in my towel but I don’t sit. I do my make up, make a brew, sort the baby etc.

I sit on my bed wrapped in a towel too.

And as others have said, I do it for the avoidance of itching too as the heat from the shower or bath makes my skin itchy (itching also to do with my MS though) but Anyway, it helps so I think that's why I do it.

Yes Jeffers - that is the low point of swimming for me too! I never feel quite fully dry afterwards either! Drip-drying is much more successful at actually getting dry I feel!

I am ever so glad I am not the only one - haha! Now I shall laugh at DH and his insistence that he is normal and I am not!

I like to sit with a nice warm towel wrapped round me, but not until I'm completely dry. It would be a really boring world, if we all did the same, so you do whatever makes you happy, Jed

Totally with op! I usually put my makeup on or do my hair whilst I dry in my towel and sometimes robe over the top. Much prefer it

I thought that everyone ends up sitting on their bed, wrapped in a towel, staring at the wall for a good almost hour unless you’re motivated to actually do something else
