This pisses me off!! Just because this isn't classed as a "real" cigarette AIBU to be pissed off when vaping around my babies. Or in any private places such as restaurants, pubs etc.

Ive been to two weddings where a couple where even vaping in CHURCH!!!
And then my niece was making her 1st holy communion and the lady in front was vaping...

I have seen no clinical evidence to suggest its safe.So in the mean time id wish the minority who do it would piss off.

I don't like it either.
Smells horrible, but at least it helps smokers quit!
I think there will come a time when vaping will come with restrictions- where they can do it etc...

Scoleah · 02/09/2017 12:42

I agree with you OP, Mums do it on the School yard where us Mothers with Other children are waiting,
But on the other hand,I much prefer them to Vape than have a Cig next to us!
Can't believe some people would have a cheek to do it in a Church though! Shock

CherieBabySpliffUp · 02/09/2017 12:44

In my opinion vaping is meant to be an alternative to smoking so if you wouldn't smoke somewhere you shouldn't be vaping. Also there is the issue of "normalising" vaping in front of children if you know what I mean.

Sayyouwill · 02/09/2017 12:44

Personally I feel if you wouldn't smoke there, you shouldn't vape there.
If the whole point of vaping is to quit smoking then surely doing it wherever you want isn't going to help encourage you to stop... just do it more! Part of the appeal for quitting smoking is the inconvenience of it

feckoffpeppapig · 02/09/2017 12:48

I agree CherieBabySpliffUp
Im happy there not smoking but your not allowed to smoke in certain places so why on earth would think its OK to vape there.

Even my own mother vapes, frigging Redbull!!!

Vaping in Church is very odd, so you are right to be annoyed at that. In general I haven't come across anyone vaping in a restaurant but I have in pubs. If you are annoyed by that, consider not bringing your babies into pubs, people get annoyed by babies in pubs too you know :). I think you may just have a hangup on it, it's better than having cigarette smokers around you and a quick google leads to plenty of clinical evidence suggesting it is not harmful, which suggests a bias on your part.

Sallystyle · 02/09/2017 12:49

You could join in on the other thread about this which was started yesterday.

I think there will come a time when vaping will come with restrictions- where they can do it etc...

There already is in my area and most areas I have heard of. I can't vape in pubs, restaurants or public buildings. I can only vape where people can smoke.

There is a lot of evidence about their safety actually. There are many threads here with some awesome information and research in them, if you care to find them. It is looking extremely promising for us.

Falconhoof1 · 02/09/2017 12:50

I thought there were strict rules for where you can vape (I'm in Scotland though). It's not allowed anywhere you can't smoke here. My vaper DH doesn't like that though. He tried to vape in a restaurant recently. I was mortified! (He got told to stop by waiter thank God!)

SerfTerf · 02/09/2017 12:51

Is anti- vape frothing the new pearl-clitchera trend?

Someone was combusting yesterday because vapers are (IHHO) insufficiently ashamed of themselves Hmm

SerfTerf · 02/09/2017 12:51

Pearl CLUTCHERS, obvs.

FlandersRocks · 02/09/2017 12:53

I wouldn't vape in a church or restaurant. Plenty of pubs/bars/venues around me allow it though so I've vaped inside in a fair few places. You have the right to be pissed off about it. I have the right to continue to do it in places where the owner/manager allows Smile

feckoffpeppapig · 02/09/2017 12:54

U2HasTheEdge
I wasn't sure of another thread so cheers. My grievance is for this who don't vape in "designated areas" Like in areas I've mentioned.

I have also read research on benefits but fail to find many with concrete clinical evidence that vaping artificial flavours are beneficial to ones health in the long term.

OP posts:
Ttbb · 02/09/2017 12:54

I thought that you weren't allowed to vape in restaurants etc.

FlandersRocks · 02/09/2017 12:56

And for those places that don't allow it, including work, I vape when using the toilet Shock as do many others I know.

Now there's really something you can froth over...vapers break the rules in toilets all the time and there's nothing that can be done about it Angry

SerfTerf · 02/09/2017 12:56

"Beneficial to health"?

I don't think you've quite understood what vaping is all about TBH.

If it's less deleterious to health than the tobacco smoking it replaces, that's a win.

feckoffpeppapig · 02/09/2017 12:59

FlandersRocks
Thats great as my children wouldn't be sharing the toilet with people so wouldn't be an issue

Please show me the link where it states it is please, then will eat my words...

In the mean time, i think a few of you are getting your knickers in a twist.

I couldn't give a fuck about vaping, my beef is vaping in places that you wouldn't be able to smoke, so why do it?
Would you smoke next to a person or child, nah. So why vape.
This is only a minority like I've said.

OP posts:
Orangebird69 · 02/09/2017 13:06

I vape in my house. I have a ds. Clutch away. Then get a grip.

Ttbb, there are no laws about where you can and can't vape. It's purely down to policies of the establishment you're in. You can't vape in Gatwick airport. You can in T5. Wetherspoons don't allow vaping. My local does. Etc etc.

Haint · 02/09/2017 13:07

I've never, ever seen anyone vaping in a pub, restaurant, shop, train, bus or church. I do get out quite a bit. Where are all these neferous vapers?

Orangebird69 · 02/09/2017 13:07

feckoff vaping is not smoking and does not come under smoking laws. Because it's not smoking. Simple.

SerfTerf · 02/09/2017 13:08

feckoff you're not making any sense.

You were saying you wanted studies showing vaping was BENEFICIAL to health. That's not the standard any researcher will be looking for.

Orangebird69 · 02/09/2017 13:08

Haint - we're not all 'cloud chasers'. I even manage to stealth vape on planes.

feckoffpeppapig · 02/09/2017 13:10

Orangebird69 But that is YOUR choice to vape in front of your children

Its not my children choice if you vape near them in a restaurant....

Like I've said. I don't give a shit about vaping. Just the "minority" who do it in places where they wouldn't smoke because its banned.

OP posts:
TronaldDumpy · 02/09/2017 13:11

You see this is why smoking cigarettes was banned - because selfish smokers couldn't "police" themselves/didn't know how to behave.

Ignorant gits. The same will happen to stupid looking vapers.

SerfTerf · 02/09/2017 13:12

Maybe don't let your DC get so close to strangers? Vapour has a range of inches.
