To ask what your dream car is?

I'm bored and dreaming about being ridiculously rich able to afford a Bugatti Chiron so I thought I'd ask what everyone else's dream car is to distract myself.

Realistic? A Golf R. Unrealistic? A Lamborghini. Any Lamborghini.

Alexandra87 · 26/08/2017 16:20

Audi R8. The v10

Andrewofgg · 26/08/2017 16:22

Top of the range Lexus for me.

cowgirlsareforever · 26/08/2017 16:24

A Bentley 4x4. It would have all the add-ons too, including a swanky picnic basket in the boot.

whyareusernamessodifficult · 26/08/2017 16:24

I did drool over a Rose Gold Aventador recently. Is that tacky?

Omg yes the Bentley Bentayga is gorgeous 😍

Jaguar F-Type coupe. The proportions are basically perfect, to my eye.

Glittertwins · 26/08/2017 16:27

Definitely an Audi R8!

Lanaa · 26/08/2017 16:27

I really want that 4x4 Bentley. Realistically I think I'll get an X5.

RedRosie · 26/08/2017 16:30

An original, tiny, Fiat 500. So cute. Grin

Greenkit · 26/08/2017 16:33

My current car an MGF VVC love it

boringrobot · 26/08/2017 16:33

I don't drive but I love the look of the Fiat 500. Otherwise purely based on looks the Nissan Figaro.

whyareusernamessodifficult · 26/08/2017 16:34

We nearly bought an X5 but decided on a Q7 instead.
We do have a 5 series that I love though.

I'm not keen on actual driving tiny cars but they are adorable to look at Red.

The fab1, but I guess if I had to settle I'd go for a pink Cadillac eldorado

Maybe not quite dream car, but three years ago I was willing to spend up to 35K, which is a lot for me as the most expensive of my previous five cars cost me 7K. I decided that 22K worth of VW Golf was objectively better than anything else I could buy in that price range. I rejected all sorts of BMW, Audis and Mercedes because I couldn't have the interior in a colour other than black, grey or brown. I rejected Jaguars because too long, I rejected a Range Rover because it wasn't available with adaptive cruise control. I rejected a Golf GTI because the interior colour options were worse than the cheaper version I chose.

I'm still slightly bemused that a medium-spec Golf somehow won my personal "dream" car competition. (Some of the special features/options that helped it win: beige/cream interior, adaptive cruise control, can steer itself for parallel parking.)

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/08/2017 16:39

A Jenson Interceptor or a mid-60s Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray

UnaPalomaBlanca · 26/08/2017 16:39

Anything driverless.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 26/08/2017 16:40

Golf driver here, they are great. I would love a brand new high spec one. Mine is old and basic.

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 26/08/2017 16:41

California XXL- I'm planning a road trip with dh Grinwhen the dcs have all left home

Firesuit · 26/08/2017 16:42

If I had to pick again, I would get another Golf, except this time I would go headquarters of VW UK and demand to have it in a custom colour. I didn't know it last time, but apparently in Germany Golf buyers can pick a custom colour from the same vast range of colours that are only usually available on Audis in the UK. I might go for purple, turquoise or even just yellow (though I'm not sure that last is compatible with a cream interior.)

I'm not sure if this is true, but I think I read somewhere that VW headquarters in the UK can put through special orders (i.e. specifying a custom colour) that can't be ordered via the dealers computer systems.

Lanaa · 26/08/2017 16:42

@whyareusernamessodifficult I'd love a Q7. Is it practical with Dcs? We've got a 5series which I adore. And oldish E class coupe and a Beetle. Currently looking to sell the Bug and Merc and get something a bit bigger for planned DCs.

IndianaMoleWoman · 26/08/2017 16:42

F-Type.

If I had that kind of money to hand though, I'd spend it on travel. It sounds so hippy-dippy but I'm becoming more about experiences and less about things as I get older.

UnaPalomaBlanca · 26/08/2017 16:42

This caused a sensation outside school last term.
