Parking wars - on my own drive !

I know the rules, diagram is attached. 😉

I'm on half days this week and have just got home to find a car in my driveway. As we are a corner house we have two driveways, big enough for one car each. Parking is really tight around here and permit only too. Opposite us is 8 terraced houses with no allocated parking, so quite often they either park in their garages or in the handful or visitor bays opposite my place but in front of theirs. My front drive is VERY clearly my driveway.

Cheeky Fucker Neighbour (CFN) runs a business from home which involves a lot of clients coming and going from her house throughout the day (pet groomer) and he employs two people to help.

I came home today to find a car in my drive which was not DHs. So I park down the side (pink section) of the house on the road where neighbours park their cars. I go and knock on several doors to find out who it belongs too, turns out it's one of the employees who is staying for a little while longer (P/T). "But I'll only be another hour, so I'll move it then." I reply "No, move it now please as I have to unload my car." Person refuses and I end up leaving telling them to move it within 30 minutes.

That was an hour ago and when I knock on the door there is no answer.

My next door neighbour has just told me that this car is on either my front drive or rear drive each morning ! When he questioned them about it, apparently CFN has said it's OK for them to park there and they have cleared it with us. No they bloody haven't!

Thing is this went on last year but after words it sooner stopped but obviously they are doing it again.

I'm sat here glaring out my front window waiting for the fucker to move his car then we will have words. I would block it in, but the road is only wide enough for one car so would block the road.

Oh my god that is super cheeky!!

Anyway you could block it in with other stuff? Stuff obviously they can move but it will help make a point?

And hoping I get in there first......for the future maybe penguin bollards?

Lovely colours on the diagram. I think you need to invest in those penguin bollard things.
But bloody cheek and I would be having words with your neighbouring. Is it all legal them running the business from home?

SheSaidHeSaid · 26/07/2017 14:39

Cheeky buggers.

Definitely get yourself some drop bollards.

FunSizedNinja · 26/07/2017 14:40

Oooh I have been needing one of these threads! Settles in with popcorn to await!

Bollards... bollards.... bollards! Are you allowed to clam people anymore who are parked on private property?

Report

NapQueen · 26/07/2017 14:40

Block them on your drive and either go out or turn off your doorbell.

Report

saveforthat · 26/07/2017 14:41

Block it anyway. Then when you have effectively blocked the road, enlist the blockee to knock on CFN door with you.

LemonBreeland · 26/07/2017 14:41

I would be moving the car to block the end of the drive and when he wants to move don't move your car for a looonng time!

Penguin drop bollards all the way OP. This will continue whenever they believe you not to be at home, even if they don't do it when you are home. Can't believe the cheek of some people!

A bit confused. You say there is room for 2 cars on your driveway, can't you get your car on your driveway at the moment with this other one there?

If not then they need to remove it right away surely? If you can still park your car then obviously they are really cheeky for parking on your drive, but it hasn't stopped you parking there aswell and so maybe give them a bit of time to move it as well as a stern don't do it again please. Rather than just sit by your window glaring, go and make a nice cuppa. or have I totally misunderstood this!

OP I've got the RAGE on your behalf!! This sort of thing really properly pisses me off. If I were you, I would be investing in chains or bollards or something anything to stop the cheeky fuckers parking on YOUR DRIVES in future Angry and in the meantime, I'd leave them a very sweary note telling them to fuck the fuck off!

Go and lean on their doorbell

Report

TheMerryWidow1 · 26/07/2017 14:44

empty your garage out in front of blockee car so they can't get out for an hour. Ooooh I'd have so much fun!!

I might be checking the title deeds to see whether running a business is allowed.

I might be suggesting to CFN that unless he ensures his employees don't park on your property, I would be informing the council that there is a business being run from a residential property.

DingDongDenny · 26/07/2017 14:45

Do they have a doorbell? I would just go round and keep my finger on it until they answer and then I would say I'm going to keep doing this until the car is gone

Or continuously blast your car horn... can car horns run out of horniness?? inconsiderate parking brings out my inner Hulk Envy deffo notenvy!

I'd have covered the car in something sticky by now!

FooFighter99 · 26/07/2017 14:48

Or, ring the police and tell them you think CFN might be a drug dealer, what with all the coming and going.... Grin

Block it in. Cheeky fucker. Please keep us updated. Haven't had decent parking porn in a long time.

Gingerandgivingzerofucks · 26/07/2017 14:48

They refused to move? Fucking hell, I'd have gone ballistic, screaming banshee! Definitely report them for running businesses from a residential property. What wankers. Drop bollards, yes. Penguin bollards too cumbersome and not designs to be moved regularly. Google child bollards, even scarier!
