Parking wars - on my own drive !

I know the rules, diagram is attached. 😉

I'm on half days this week and have just got home to find a car in my driveway. As we are a corner house we have two driveways, big enough for one car each. Parking is really tight around here and permit only too. Opposite us is 8 terraced houses with no allocated parking, so quite often they either park in their garages or in the handful or visitor bays opposite my place but in front of theirs. My front drive is VERY clearly my driveway.

Cheeky Fucker Neighbour (CFN) runs a business from home which involves a lot of clients coming and going from her house throughout the day (pet groomer) and he employs two people to help.

I came home today to find a car in my drive which was not DHs. So I park down the side (pink section) of the house on the road where neighbours park their cars. I go and knock on several doors to find out who it belongs too, turns out it's one of the employees who is staying for a little while longer (P/T). "But I'll only be another hour, so I'll move it then." I reply "No, move it now please as I have to unload my car." Person refuses and I end up leaving telling them to move it within 30 minutes.

That was an hour ago and when I knock on the door there is no answer.

My next door neighbour has just told me that this car is on either my front drive or rear drive each morning ! When he questioned them about it, apparently CFN has said it's OK for them to park there and they have cleared it with us. No they bloody haven't!

Thing is this went on last year but after words it sooner stopped but obviously they are doing it again.

I'm sat here glaring out my front window waiting for the fucker to move his car then we will have words. I would block it in, but the road is only wide enough for one car so would block the road.

people all the say the same thing when they help themselves to your allocated parking space with a number on! "oh I will only be ten minutes" as if that makes it alright, its infuriating you pay for the space and its not for public use like cab drivers, delivery people, postmen or neighbours visitors it belongs to me after kicking people out for twenty years it does get a bit tedious....

Just go balistic! You come home to find "abandoned stuf"f on your OWN property". I would, with GLEE pay a tow truck man, to come and fetch the car, to take to the local impound. Pretty sure the police and the council will back you up. People CANNOT "dump" stuff on your private property. Clearly no point in wasting your time and energy speaking with these people any longer. You have tried that before, but they are back to their old tricks. GET IT TOWED! that WILL BE the last time ever you suffer this! Good luck. DO let us know how you get on! xxxx

Sparklyglitter · 27/07/2017 17:47

That is so super rude! I bet it's not a criminal offence so you won't get any support from the police they might go and have a word with them for you though??? They've kindly done that for us in the past. Xx

tygarugby · 27/07/2017 17:48

I wonder if they need planning permission to run a business

Madwoman5 · 27/07/2017 17:53

Running a business from home involving staff and visitors that impacts on the neighbouring properties due to lack of parking is of interest to the council. Write and lodge a complaint. This cf needs to not have more than five minutes to shift their car. Any longer and this is what happens. Tell the neighbour and their employee that parking on your property is not acceptable, is trespass and will result in police action. Each and every time it happens call the police and lodge a complaint THEN go over and ask them to move it immediately....and get a crime number. If bollards are not an option and lockable gates are out then a solicitor's letter is needed. Your house insurance may offer legal services within your policy. I want to punch the cf for you!

Hodnett32 · 27/07/2017 17:59

Power wash your drive around the car - the muck goes everywhere. . . . . .

teabagsrus · 27/07/2017 17:59

There is a 2nd thread

TeresaEdPsych · 27/07/2017 18:01

Call the police it's trespass, you have asked nicely, tell the police there might be blood shed. Also does that person actually have the right to run such a business from his property? Bet you the council would have something to say about that. Tell them what he's doing with the parking. Photograph the car with the date so you have proof.
How dare they refuse and how dare your neighbour tell people to park there. I feel the rage because the only way we stopped it was drop bollards padlocks and chains.

niccyb · 27/07/2017 18:12

I would llet them know that each time they park on your drive you will keep knocking and ringing until it's gone! Geeky bastards. I wouldn't dream of it.

Wheelycote · 27/07/2017 18:14

I've missed all the goings on!!!!

I've got that the car is gone now (CF)!!!
But did someone Nick the tyres??????
