So another theme that's coming out in the tapes is that when he's had to deal with people who really are stronger than him, he appeases or admires.

This is just the journalists' analysis, but they point to how in military school he pretty quickly switched from being the defiant one to being proud of slotting in as high as he could under the greater powers.

And also how Ivana stood up to him and then he married her. (Before she got older and had to be upgraded...)

They posit that, having grown up in his father's environment of constant bullying, meeting a bigger power is homely for him even while he throws tantrums about it.

Although IMO opinion you might also say this is standard fare for bullies: dominate the weaker, ingratiate yourself once someone's been proved stronger.

Anyway, I suspect that will be relevant for his relationships with May and Putin.

Mexico has a higher GDP than Turkey (IMF, UN and World Bank all agree on this one) - I'd much sooner May did a trade deal with Mexico. And possibly with the newly independent Republic of California (I would love that sooooo much).

Though I was talking to a couple of Californians the other day (randomly on the bus) and they assured me that the whole Trump thing was more complex than you might think even in California. There are large tracts of the state which are solidly Republican, and one (who was Hispanic) pointed out that even among non-white ethnic groupings, Trump has non-negligible support.

I can't believe he's only been in power for a week- less really because he didn't really start his dictatorship Presidency until Monday. I've thought this before but it's depressing that it's very difficult for one person to do a huge amount of good - there are exceptions like Gandhi, MLK, Mandela - but one lunatic like Hitler or Stalin or Saddam can do untold damage. Look at the total carnage The Orange One has unleashed in a week.

Melania rejected him or broke it off at some point, didn't she?

No doubt the Daily Mail would have villified a journalist who dared ask Hitler hard questions

  1. I agree its the job of journos to ask hard difficult questions, Trump will have to get used to it.

  2. You do however realize the The guardian and other papers have been just as supportive of Murder and tyranny?

The Guardian called Lenin " pleasant and refreshing" and supported Stalin etc.
I dont know why people keep trotting out stuff about the Mail - when the Guardian etc are hardly innocent.

Sorry for the delayed response BadKnee - thanks.. and I think you're right in that they'll pay as in get fucked rather than pay as in money. The thought of forced labour is pretty Shock

HamletsSister · 28/01/2017 16:45

Sorry for my dodgy link earlier. Need to stop trusting everything that is critical of Pence / Trump. You don't need untruths when the truth is awful enough.

I was looking for a book for DS (big fan of Orwell). Found this... I wonder what school would think if he trollied up with this stuck to his homework book?
