Rainbunny Many still are in the thrall of the Emperor. A family member of mine is one of those rabid "Trump can do no wrong" and is applauding him all along the way. I imagine she probably was in throes of ecstasy over his executive orders tonight. She's all for massive military and hate immigrants/refugees as "they're a drain on the economy and are all criminals on welfare." She's a charmer, she is.

I do worry that if Emperor Trump is unceremoniously dumped and Pence takes over, will people be so relieved that Trump is gone that they sleepwalk into the shitstorm that Pence will then bring. He HATES women.

One thing I am going to do is to confront any Trump supporter on here or elsewhere with some difficult questions.

Trump has put in his order that Christian refugees will get a priority - isn't that religious discrimination??

SanFranBear doesn't it mean that if a worker is an illegal immigrant he/she is not on the books so gets paid very low wages but cash in hand - hence no tax is paid.

It means the USA gets less tax and it hits the job availability for US citizens who want higher wages and better conditions, (and pay tax). Unscrupulous employers treat them like slaves of course.

I mean, I know the whole order is a study in discrimination, really. But doesn't that make it unconstitutional? Who even challenges those things?

SanFranBear I think the logic is that all the illegal Mexicans go home and so all their jobs will be done by legal hard-working Americans who will pay tax on their earnings, (and not need Welfare), thus enabling the State to afford the wall.

The drug money will also not be sent back to Mexico - but I am not quite sure how he is going to do that.

And indirectly the Mexicans are losing jobs, money that goes into their economy from the US now won't therefore they pay!

SanFranBear - I agree the logic is flawed (!) but that's how I understood it.
I am also vaguely remembering something Trump said at the beginning of his campaign - the illegal Mexicans would be forced to build the wall themselves - (forced labour) - but I may have got that wrong.
