Apparently Americans should support their President because it's what Americans do Grin

(online tweeting with someone who was an Obama supporter but is now a Trump supporter)

Go figure

MsHooliesCardigan · 25/01/2017 14:37

Stripey Tell me you're not serious. If this past week is 'good', I dread to think what your definition of 'fucking terrifying' is.

TheFilthiestPersonAlive · 25/01/2017 14:38

He's working at breakneck speed, isn't he? It's actually quite terrifying how quickly he can unravel the years of good work done before him, eg, regarding the environment.

amispartacus · 25/01/2017 14:39

And apparently what happens in the USA is none of our business..

Because the economy, climate, Middle East politics, Russian relations, NATO, a lying politician and his lying team is totally nothing to do with us.

TheFilthiestPersonAlive · 25/01/2017 14:43

Nope, neither do the rates of illegal abortions (many of course resulting in death) that will undoubtedly happen now he's banned foreign aid being spent on anything to do with abortion.

BestIsWest · 25/01/2017 14:45

Beautiful.

amispartacus · 25/01/2017 14:45

that will undoubtedly happen now he's banned foreign aid being spent on anything to do with abortion

Seems like the Dutch want to create a global fund to provide the lost funding.

What's happened is that Trump is uniting people who disagree with him. His actions have an equal and opposite reaction.

What will May do? I hope she does not sell us out.

TheFilthiestPersonAlive · 25/01/2017 14:47

Yes, that's the most positive thing to come out of it. People are united in their disbelief and horror. And we are ALL watching.

That is amazing about the Dutch, heartened to read that.

PausingFlatly · 25/01/2017 14:49

Grin at your post amispartacus at 14:26:17 being followed by StripeyCover's post at 14:27:45.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/01/2017 15:00

Another Best Thread ever. Sad.

BigChocFrenzy · 25/01/2017 15:01

Trump hasn't just banned US aid being spend on abortion:

If any aid worker even whispers advice about where else to go for abortion, then all US aid for womens' health services will be stopped for that agency.
Regions in receipt of aid are often so poor that they cannot fund services themselves

  • so no more condoms in high HIV areas, maternity, care after rape.

This will cost the lives of women and babies.
Aid as a emans of bullying the most vulnerable
A great first week for Trump Hmm

MsHooliesCardigan · 25/01/2017 15:03

I've got a horrible feeling that Stripey is serious. He/she has just said on another thread that all of us criticising The Orange One are just virtue signalling Hmm

Lweji · 25/01/2017 15:04

Yes, it's great that people who can't afford "Medicare" aren't fined. It means they will go without insurance. And will have to pay through the roof for when they get medical bills or even better when they can't get insured due to a previous medical condition.
I presume they'll be able to get Medicaid when they get poor enough.
It's great.

That's exactly how you solve the US health system problems.

Spudlet · 25/01/2017 15:05

Disenfranchising of BAME voters coming right up... it's the American way Confused

Voter ID laws deprive many voters of their right to vote, reduce participation, and stand in direct opposition to our country’s trend of including more Americans in the democratic process. Many Americans do not have one of the forms of identification states acceptable for voting. These voters are disproportionately low-income, racial and ethnic minorities, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

"Having balls" is NOT how I would describe someone with an ego as fragile as Trump!

Whining about the size of his crowd, and the popular vote, 4 days after becoming president? Erm...

And turning up to the CIA with a rentacrowd to cheer?! WTAF?

Donald Trump, the first week is BAD. What next? Come all ye Beautifuls!
Lweji · 25/01/2017 15:05

I wonder if the Clinton Foundation will be able to offer advice on abortions. Isn't most of their funding from other Governments? Wink

amispartacus · 25/01/2017 15:07

If you apologise as a Government but then delete the apology, did the apology ever happen?

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01/25/trump-administration-removes-apology-historic-mass-government/

Lweji · 25/01/2017 15:07

There was a typo there. Instead of having balls, it should be having ballsed up.

PausingFlatly · 25/01/2017 15:09

Well, MissHoolie, clearly Stripey thinks to criticise Trump is virtuous.Wink

Lweji · 25/01/2017 15:09

Trump administration removes apology for historic mass government discrimination against LGBTI employees

Oh, yes, go LGBT for Trump! He's your guy.

squishysquirmy · 25/01/2017 15:09

Bore: That Cabaret clip you posted sums up the danger of blind optimism, and getting swept up in "people's movements" perfectly.
(not placemarking because I have nothing better to add. Oh no, not I. Definitely not.)

amispartacus · 25/01/2017 15:12

I feel for Theresa May. She will be the first foreign Minister to meet Trump. I do wonder what she has been thinking this week - and what the Sir Humphreys of the civil service are advising her.

Lweji · 25/01/2017 15:14

And turning up to the CIA with a rentacrowd to cheer?! WTAF?

That actually makes more sense than anyone in the CIA cheering up for him.
Unless he waterboarded them.

I wonder who he got as warm up person. That queen of comedy Kellyanne?

MoonriseKingdom · 25/01/2017 15:15

I totally deny that this is a placemark. It is an alternative post and anyone who says otherwise will be in bigly trouble.

amispartacus · 25/01/2017 15:17

I love the Dutch. I'd love to move there...except that's a bit harder. This video is the best. So good.
