Has anyone watched this?

basically it goes - Morning! here's some BASSSETT'S MULTI VITAMINS.... look how my children never squabble. They play nicely and share with each other and other kids. They don't smoosh chocolate cake all over their pretty dresses. We all go for wholesome walks by the river without getting a spot of mud on us. And look, they go to bed without a fuss too (after arriving home at approximately 7.02pm Grin)

Now, who recognises that as a typical day with two under fours???

That sounds about right to me - apart from the one shiney new poster!

LittlestLightOnTheTree · 11/12/2015 13:40

How many more subscribers did she get nina?

DyslexicScientist · 11/12/2015 14:17

Basically we've helped her become one of the most influential people on children's vitamins. I would like a car hun.

Kr1stina · 11/12/2015 14:38

Have they gone away now ? < looks around >

What a shame, I was quite enjoying

" You ladies should all be nice to everyone and not have any opinions . Because. "

You'd think they would be more at home in Net Mums

This is going to be the Thread That Never Dies Xmas Grin

No more!

Omg I cannot believe I live in a society where we actually give a shiny shit about some people's faked up existence. I'm genuinely disappointed in my fellow humans that some of them are in awe of people who have achieved nothing special beyond operating a camera and some editing.
It's totally different to art, films, books etc and it's so weird.

Good luck to the chancers that make it through the crowded vloggers to d list fame and fortune.

GeordieBadger · 11/12/2015 18:51

some people's faked up existence

lol

MM is still banging on about this thread in her recent vid. "Mean people" and "mean poems" were mentioned. Also apparently if you criticize her, that means you don't understand Youtube.

"People are slagging off what I do for a living" she laments, like we're unreasonable in criticizing profit-making that involves exploiting one's children (whose privacy is non-existent).

LittlestLightOnTheTree · 11/12/2015 18:56

Lol nouef what's 'art, films, books' got to do with it?

SouthWestmom · 11/12/2015 18:58

Good luck to her. If she's seen an easy way of making money, why not? I am just stunned that people buy into this stuff.
Makes you think though - maybe I should ask for a video camera for Christmas and sell my kids' lives to the world along with my perfect parenting.

SouthWestmom · 11/12/2015 18:59

Because a pp referenced people following dramas or something - just stating that I don't think it's the same.

You don't have to involve your children to be popular on YouTube and make a living from it tho

Dontneedausername · 11/12/2015 19:09

Aw I quite like her! But i know it's all edited, the bad bits are chopped out and it's a business.
Although the part about "loads of threads" and people slagging her off was a bit of an exaggeration and obviously made her more "involved" fans come and post in here.

iPaid · 11/12/2015 20:32

How does she actually make a living from it? Other than Bassett bunging her some money for plugging their vitamins, where does the rest of her income come from? She only has about 5000 subscribers.

SouthWestmom · 11/12/2015 20:47

Possibly the prominent labels are a clue? No idea I just looked at the landing page to see whether I needed some support to improve my life.

LittlestLightOnTheTree · 11/12/2015 21:40

Interesting post. Used to enjoy a bit of youtube but have unsubscribed frm mrs m owing to issue of editing.

The prime example being the DM
incident. All wk mrs m flooded social
media with I'm going to be in the
paper! type posts, photos of
photoshoot etc then THIS was
published

mustthinkofabetterusername · 12/12/2015 00:42

Bv mrs m didn't like it!!! And neither the article, or previously heavily featured lead up to it, were featured in that week's vlog! I found this hugely incongruos with her hashtag of "honest face" of parenting.

Not sure if I believe her closing sentence in the article anymore

Apologies re typos, am on a mobile device.

mustthinkofabetterusername · 12/12/2015 00:48

Would love a proper chat in RL with ninared about all this!

DyslexicScientist · 12/12/2015 09:20

I do understand YouTube, twitter, Facebook and all that I just choose to be private. Have a YouTube channel is just part of being a teenager these days.

I doubt she does make ila living out of it, she has what 5 sub's and I've now watched two of her bids for a few mins and no adverts play. At best they earn about 1 pound per 1000 views. So she could make 1-2 pounds a vid.

GretchenBeckett · 12/12/2015 22:25

So are there any other mum vlogers out there's who are a bit more realistic?

mustthinkofabetterusername · 13/12/2015 00:49

Oooh, that sounds like a question from a researcher from a certain channel 5 morning tv programme ... guarantee it!

Depends how you define realistic

katie&baby
early 20's, engaged, dd 2yrs, ?essex, I imagine lower income household than mrs m. Seems consistently honest in vlogs, although less formal (doesn't have posting schedule etc)

Depends on how you w
