Has anyone watched this?

basically it goes - Morning! here's some BASSSETT'S MULTI VITAMINS.... look how my children never squabble. They play nicely and share with each other and other kids. They don't smoosh chocolate cake all over their pretty dresses. We all go for wholesome walks by the river without getting a spot of mud on us. And look, they go to bed without a fuss too (after arriving home at approximately 7.02pm Grin)

Now, who recognises that as a typical day with two under fours???

Oh for goodness sake! it is so obvious that fans and family members have been asked to come on this thread and defend her it's embarrassing! Too many new posters only posting on this thread for it to be a co-incidence.
Mrs Meldrum probably needs to toughen up a wee bit if some minor negativity and banter on one thread is enough to cause this furore.

If her mothers sisters brothers neighbour comes along in a minute to post accusing mumsnetters of being the devil spawn and are all jealous huns then I'm reporting. joking but am wondering if that actually will happen next

lucymootoo · 09/12/2015 14:23

What one is the bassets video? I have done a quick look through some of her videos and she seems relatively normal in them.

ilovetoski · 09/12/2015 14:44

Seems a perfectly normal family life to me too !

jorahmormont · 09/12/2015 14:45

PLOT THREAD TWIST

It turns out OP is Mrs Meldrum, creating this thread to send everyone to her Facebook page and to bring out the hunz lauding how amazing she is?

Or have I been watching way too much TV lately? Wink

DyslexicScientist · 09/12/2015 14:53

He kitchen that looks a state, looks like how mine does when I've really tried to tidy it up.

I think her "messy" kitchen was a setup

DyslexicScientist · 09/12/2015 14:57

Nest of vipers is pretty accurate for aibu tbh ladies.

whopureedmypeas · 09/12/2015 14:58

You know what the way this thread is going with friends/fans and family members joining the thread nothing now would surprise me!

The irony is if the fans/subscribers hadn't of suddenly started the thread up again in a rather over the top defence campaign then the thread would have been left as it were a bit of tongue in cheek banter about a bassets video blog!

Now its becoming all a bit odd....

00100001 · 09/12/2015 16:00

Maybe the vipers should have some BASSETT'S MULTIVITAMINS to calm them all down Grin

So a YouTube blogger makes lifestyle videos. Some people have questioned whether they represent reality or not as they seem a bit staged and unrealistic.

As a result of this the blogger (an adult) has been reduced to tears and there have been accusations of bullying.

Have I got that right?

Negative criticism of something deliberately put into the public domain is no longer acceptable it seems. I hope someone has told Charlie Brooker.

00100001 · 09/12/2015 16:15

you missed out the joke... Grin

Findingyfeet12 Yes thats pretty much it
The blogger did a vlog/blog about Mumsnet on Tuesday saying she had seen this and read the " threads and threads of abuse Confused" about her life on here She seemed very upset and a poster actually came on to say it had reduced the blogger to tears.Which I think is a bit of an overreaction. The start of the thread was a bit of a "Oh yes that's exactly what my day looks like with 2 under 4 NOT" Bit of eye rolling generally a jesty tone.

Cue then new posters arriving defending the blogger and apparently comments on her facebook page sum us up as 'well jel' or 'bitches'
Then last night her mother in law came on and it all became a bit batshit. Un-yet I can't stop reading this thread......

DyslexicScientist · 09/12/2015 20:10

I don't think sweeties with smilie faces on are the food if vipers, more like lemons whole.

Don't see the issue with using kids in the videos, nigella has been doing it since hers could talk. Let's face it this vitamin woman has a thousand views, she's no zoella.

LittlestLightOnTheTree · 11/12/2015 07:22

I doubt she even wants to be another 'zoella'!!

00100001 · 11/12/2015 10:06

How is this thread still active????!!!!!

OP posts:
poocatcherchampion · 11/12/2015 10:10

Can someone link the video.I think I might like it.

findingmyfeet12 · 11/12/2015 10:15

I bet this thread has had more views than the video.

Kr1stina · 11/12/2015 10:33

Hi I am Rebecca's next door neighbours brothers dog walker I just want to say how lovely she is and her children are just perfect in every way and she has the right to put her life and her children out there as a product to earn money but none of you have the right to express any opinion on the matter did I mention I don't know how to use punctuation or paragraphs

LittlestLightOnTheTree · 11/12/2015 11:37

There was an aibu thread the other day. Revived from 2008

Why is it still active? It's on threads I'm on.... Sorry, not here 24/7. Guess some of us catch up between living our lives.

00100001 · 11/12/2015 11:42

well, surely there's nothing else to add to the discussion though? Confused

OP posts:
ninared · 11/12/2015 12:15

of course this thread is still active!

It's no accident that new posters came onto this thread as it was slowing down to keep it going - haha to those who believe it's friends and fans commenting on here!!!! Errrrrm really! new first time commenting posters?

And the mother in law chimes in at the eleventh hour. Really?? clever tho to keep it active

All this has been carefully orchestrated as part of a traffic, PR and SEO plan.

Look at the increase in subscribers and views of Brand Meldrum over the last xxxxxx days - duh an active thread on Mumsnet is bigger than ad space in a national broadsheet. And see how the channel has continued to actively post throughout relevant content (day in life 'I am normal') this 'crisis'

No doubt this thread will again be mentioned via her channels today so it's kept live for as long as possible and any mention of it will also prompt more comments on social media which means more reach and all of this is VERY agreeable to the Facebook / Insta algorithms.

oh and yep wanting to be the next Zoella is very loud and clearly documented by Mrs M here

www.mrsmeldrum.com/2015/07/i-dont-want-to-be-next-zoella.html

Being careful not to out myself but this has very much gone to plan - our meetings continually brainstorm getting exposure on mums' websites/forums and this one went like a dream

Kr1stina · 11/12/2015 13:09

So if we all say " I love mrs meldrum and wish my life was as wonderful as hers " then it's good publicity.

And if we all say " who is stupid enough to believe this nonsense is real ? " , we are attacking this wonderful person, lots of shiny new posters join MN to extol her virtues and it's good publicity.

Have I got that right ?

I bet I'd be a lot less cynical if I ate BASSETTS MULTIVITAMINS
