basically it goes - Morning! here's some BASSSETT'S MULTI VITAMINS.... look how my children never squabble. They play nicely and share with each other and other kids. They don't smoosh chocolate cake all over their pretty dresses. We all go for wholesome walks by the river without getting a spot of mud on us. And look, they go to bed without a fuss too (after arriving home at approximately 7.02pm )

Now, who recognises that as a typical day with two under fours???

this has worked just as hoped by the PR machine running this show (look at who is behind Channel Mums and you'll work out pretty quickly that all this is a highly tuned PR exercise to gain exposure and in turn clients ) - in a so called 'crisis' like this followers defend and comment on all social media outlets and sites such as this one and interact which means more reach via the social media algorithms and more traction on all of Brand Meldrum

because of this thread and the corresponding facebook and youtube 'warts and all' vlog today all interaction is hugely increased - just look at the massive increase in comments on her youtube channels and Instagram and the Facebook page of mrs m which is what was hoped for which all means it's working well to gain publicity and more ROI for the brands involved.

it's no accident that there is also a competition running at the moment which went live just before this all kicked off

also note the staged 'shit bits' vlog today right on the heels of this thread - we suddenly see the bottles in the utility room, the supposed no make up (look closely and you'll see there is make up) and the low key housework normal day after the last lot of seriously curated perfect Christmas happy sparkly videos

I agree that if you're putting out YouTube videos of yourself and family you've got to take any feedback on the chin. Although I can't tell from the posts on here if she has been upset by it or turned it into an opportunity?

I googled her name after reading this thread - and this thread did not come up when I searched at all!

She states that there are "sooo many threads" on here about her and giving her abuse well that is simply not true! I have only ever come across this thread and I certainly wouldn't say its abusive in fact I'd say compared to many threads I've seen on AIBU it's pretty tame.

I've seen her videos before after watching the bassetts one on here, and this new video showed washing piled up, giving her kids beans with no toast and her youngest screaming at her feet...it is so obviously different to the other videos where her children have eaten beautifully crafted prawns with chilli, her kitchen is immaculate as "she does it as she goes along" and the children sit nicely at the table, it's almost laughable. The video comes across a bit odd and too defensive tbh and I don't think she's done herself any favours calling mumsnetters trolls.

Seems like a nice sweet wee girl but best to stop putting your life laid bare on t'internet if you're going to cry everytime someone disagrees with you.
And as for some of the comments about mumsnetters underneath the video....

Some of the comments underneath that video are utterly vitrolic compared to the posts on this thread which for the most part have been pretty reasonable.

It is very much a Pinterest-perfect, ideal life kind of blog/vlog that she has, but sometimes I like watching that kind of thing. Then I get back to writing my own blog about how DD's latest habit is trying to break the world speed record for getting herself naked wherever she is, be that in bed or at the shops.

Well, I'd never heard of Mrs Meldrum before today so whether it was deliberate or not, it has raised her profile by one.

I won't be looking though, I'm not comfortable with the idea of exposing childens lives like this. This could be very unfair of me as without looking I have no idea how it is structured but Supernanny always made me wince for this reason. How can the children consent and what happens when they get to school - how do their peers react?

I could be out of touch and OTT about this though - I'm not even on Facebook.

I think this has all been blown massively out of proportion the OP only made a tongue in cheek observation about the bassets video!

Someone apparently linked this thread to her facebook page - the comments about the posters on here and on Mumsnet in general are awful, far worse than what has been said about her vlogs.
