Has anyone watched this?

basically it goes - Morning! here's some BASSSETT'S MULTI VITAMINS.... look how my children never squabble. They play nicely and share with each other and other kids. They don't smoosh chocolate cake all over their pretty dresses. We all go for wholesome walks by the river without getting a spot of mud on us. And look, they go to bed without a fuss too (after arriving home at approximately 7.02pm Grin)

Now, who recognises that as a typical day with two under fours???

I skipped through the video before I vommed……..Summernights1986…..mmmmm nice comment !!

Why would watching an articulate video, with a pretty young mum, with a lovely family make you VOM ??

Few jealous witches commnenting I reckon,

00100001 · 07/12/2015 18:56

Hmm

Because it was so sickly sweet and fluffy and tinkly-voiced, with the cutesy music theme tune.

It gave me the same feeling as I get when I see over the top PDA's in public or a couple staring into each others eyes and professing their undying love. Nice for you (the subject). Cringey and vom-inducing for me.

I have no problem in admitting my envy for people I am actually envious of. I'm fairly secure in myself, my life, my choices and all the rest of it. Good bits, bad bits, I have it pretty good overall though IMO.

I didn't feel envy watching that video. I felt disbelief, slight...derision?...and an almighty cringe coming on. I'm sure she's lovely and all the rest, but I stand by my opinion of - 'Typical' day - My arse it is.

ninared · 07/12/2015 22:58

I know of mrs m and other mummy youtubers because of my job (being careful what I say as cannot out self) and I think she is one of the better ones out there.

No doubt about it that everything is curated including the bits where she does show herself with no make up (done to 'normalise' the perfect bits) and even these parts of the show are thought through ie here's me with hair in a messy bun (a nice one) and my pjs (matching and on trend), here's me eating chocolate because I'm just like you, here I am with a big bag of Primark gear while wearing my Joules boots.

We have meetings on how to curate and edit their videos and content ideas to make them appeal by balancing it all lookng fab with a bit of 'reality' thrown in - all the mummy tubers do this.

They WANT to be famous and work hard to make that happen - getting 5k followers on YouTube doesnt happen by accident - tho they all want you to think it's all just grown organically and it started as a 'hobby'.

Everything is done for views and SEO - the daily video, the blog posts, topping up Instagram and Facebook posts, all portraying her brand (her family) using calls to action to get interaction and therefore more reach.

What I'm trying to say is that she is working very hard portraying being a stay at home mum and clients like Bassetts buy this reach which is where the irony is.

Oh and being mentioned on a busy Mumsnet thread will be gold for traffic and SEO which of course is all very convenient for the brand too.

MissFitt68 · 07/12/2015 23:41

Hi nina are you from 'channel mum'?

Wagglebees · 08/12/2015 03:22

Never heard of her so did a quick image Google search and I'm EnvyEnvy at her bouncy, perfect hair and perfect teeth and gorgeous wedding dress and adorable children and her general shiny-ness. Bitch Only thing I'm not Xmas Envy a is her DH. His forehead's too big.

Wagglebees · 08/12/2015 03:28

RTft now. Blimey everyone's so serious these days. Confused I'm sure Mrs M doesn't give a shit if someone starts a LIGHTHEARTED thread about her on MN. Have a ☕️ and chill out.

00100001 · 08/12/2015 07:56

Ahhhh, should have pit "lighthearted" in the title Grin

'Sure' are you wagglebees?

Her latest video as part of vlogmas is about THIS thread amongst others. She's a real person. She's a bit upset already but now you are having a go at her husbands physical appearance?

00100001 · 08/12/2015 08:02

Oooooh, My thread made it to a blog???

Did it mention my joke??? Grin

OP posts:
LittlestLightOnTheTree · 08/12/2015 08:04

No but you made her cry. Happy now?

00100001 · 08/12/2015 08:11

What did I write that made her cry?? Confused

The bit about not getting chocolate cake on their face? Or something else just as terribly upsetting???

I have not attacked anyone here. All I have said is it is NOT a typical day with twonfour year olds.

Confused

I haven't clicked on her blog/vlog because I refuse to entertain all this sort of crap.

I've yet to read a mummy blog that has been interesting all well written. And I take a dim view of parents who don't value their children's privacy.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 08/12/2015 08:27

ah she actually seems sweet, but look - people do the blogs and videos to make MONEY- moolah, cash, $$$$$

you tube and instragram generate hits , and you know what credit to her- its a very modern way of making money, and a brand

but if you put yourself out there, its inevitable that you will get some feedback that's not to your taste, and its a huge risk to be honest

I mean first of all the mental health/self esteem aspect of getting nasty trolly criticism

and really? this thread is light and vanilla!- I have seen some of the shit that people say about other posters and its absolutely vile and nasty

and unfortunately having your life and the kids on the WWW is a bit risky

Like I said I think she seems like a sweetie, but I think is some mild criticism on MN is upsetting she should speak to an external advisor on some of the security aspects,I mean that sincerely as there are some evil twats out there

People who do this desperately want to be famous and must be prepared for negative feedback.

Epitome a bad parenting sweets with added vitamins.

I'm not going to cook dinner tonight, I'll just give oreos with added vitamins and we had belvita for breakfast this morning also with added vitamins. Winning.
