Has anyone watched this?

basically it goes - Morning! here's some BASSSETT'S MULTI VITAMINS.... look how my children never squabble. They play nicely and share with each other and other kids. They don't smoosh chocolate cake all over their pretty dresses. We all go for wholesome walks by the river without getting a spot of mud on us. And look, they go to bed without a fuss too (after arriving home at approximately 7.02pm Grin)

Now, who recognises that as a typical day with two under fours???

Mumsnet doesn't appear to have a very good reputation does it!? The 'vipers nest' seems very apt

Oh well

( in her 'thumbnail' she does appear to be wiping away a tear, and her voice wobbled a bit) glad she seems to have moved on now

BuffyTheSpikeLayer · 08/12/2015 18:16

I'm afraid I'd have to disagree with you there Lights It's one of the biggest parenting websites out there and one of the longest running Confused
Don't get me wrong I've been on the wrong side of a poster or two but with as many users as it has you are never going to find everyone likes the same thing/agrees with you etc. it's just impossible.

I stand by the fact I think the comments on here have been far more well measured and polite than the ones on her facebook page directed at members of mumsnet and this thread in particular.

I too am glad she's over it now. As I said peace and love Xmas Smile

iPaid · 08/12/2015 18:29

Thanks to this thread, I have now watched a handful of the blogs Blush
Mrs Meldrum films herself chatting to the camera whilst driving Shock looks dangerous to me!

iPaid · 08/12/2015 18:30

Vlogs not blogs!

jorahmormont · 08/12/2015 18:40

Oh it's not Mrs Meldrum I like it's a different one who uses 'Mrs' in her blog name.

(I'm sure Mrs Meldrum is perfectly lovely before I get lynched by an angry comment mob on Facebook Grin )

Rightyhothen · 08/12/2015 18:52

Agree buffy.

There have been some posts on this thread after the original lot which have been mean spirited (from both sides) but the original posts were very tame.

My intention was never to be mean which is why in the spirit of self reflection I have read and re-read my first post.

I just cannot see how it could be construed as offensive to Mrs Meldrum. I was jokingly describing my perception of the videos (and clearly this perception is the one that Bassetts wanted us to have for that particular video). When I say 'perception' I'm intelligent enough to know that's not how her life actually is before anyone jumps on me for that!

If nina's interpretation of events is true then it's disappointing but all makes sense.

Anyway, I'm far too invested in this so will
move on as MM has.

beccalou123 · 08/12/2015 19:30

Clearly some jealousy going on here, leave her to it. She an amazing mum and tries her damned hardest for them beautiful girls. She's not always perfect and tbh is anyone? The girls are sometimes grumpy and hard work but again that's life!!
Love keyboard warriors who don't put themselves out there for the viewing of others but then manage to comment about it!

She's free to do as she likes with her videos! It's hardly unique, plenty do it

But you know what I meant.

Youre Making sure mumsnet lives up to its nasty vipers nest image, go you, it clearly fills a hole in your life Smile

I was sad to see some of your negative comments on Rebecca's page, my youngest son alerted me to these today while we were out for lunch. So I thought I would give you my view. Technology such as vlogs and blogs are new to me and I'm not sure about the girls being on you tube, mumsnet etc with their lives portrayed to the public.
Lee and becks are very fortunate in their lives to have 2 beautiful and healthy daughters. They are great parents and devote their lives to the girls, the girls are bundles of joy and I love them dearly. They have there own ideas on how the girls are brought up and for what I see they are marvellous parents and the girls are thriving. You may see everything perfect on the vlogs blogs but the girls have their own characters and often have an off day or aren't well and need a day on the sofa with a cuddle. Just like normal kids they are often hipper, especially when nana is round to wind them up and get them overly excited. Life for some isn't this easy and I can understand the animosity, as a family we have all had our share of misfortune and we know to make the most of the good times. So to all reading this I wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2016.

ps well done daughter in law, Im very proud of you xx

BuffyTheSpikeLayer · 09/12/2015 02:02

Oh I'm sorry but I think this has gone a bit far now Confused

themotherinlaw you sound lovely and supportive and that's wonderful. You have a lovely family and beautiful granddaughters and I am sure you enjoy every minute of them.

I am sorry if any of the comments on this thread upset your daughter in law or yourself, I agree some have been below the belt, but for the most part been well measured and reasonable. In fact the OP was rather tongue in cheek. Unlike I am afraid, the comments directed at people on here on Mrs Meldrums social media pages.

I have said before that I did not particulary enjoy Mrs Meldrums style of blogging, it's not for me and I shouldn't have to justify it any more than Mrs Meldrum should justify her blog. I have said, as have others that Mrs Meldrum seems very nice and wished her the best. I mean that sincerely.

I have to say that I find your comment that "life isn't easy for some I can understand the animosity" incredibly patronising (and I am sure you didn't mean it to come across like that)
Please do not assume that simply because some people do not enjoy Mrs Meldrums style of blog that they are automatically 'jealous' of her life. I can assure you that isn't the case. For me? well I am incredibly happy with my life, I am fortunate and grateful for it every single day.I find the assumption that disagreeing equals jealousy rather bizarre.

I hope this all blows over now, as I am afraid it looks like a bunch or Mrs Meldrums friends and family joined mumsnet just to defend her which seems completley bonkers! I am sure it isn't true but as a blogger I'm sure she wouldn't want that!

I wish you and your family and all Mr Meldrums fans/ followers a very merry Christmas too and all the best for 2016.

BuffyTheSpikeLayer · 09/12/2015 02:10

p.s themotherinlaw I meant to add in that post that I think you sound like a top mother in law!

Rightyhothen · 09/12/2015 03:40

What buffy said very nicely sums up my feelings on this.

This thread in no way started out as malicious towards Mrs M so it's sad that it's being blown out of all proportion (hopefully not deliberately so in order to increase viewers as some previous posters have implied).

As I said before I was a viewer (and subscriber) of Mrs M before the 'Bassetts video' and enjoyed the escapism and up beat nature of the videos. I also have a very happy and fulfilled life (and dare I say it- tidy home!) so the videos in no-way made me feel bad about what I have- If I recorded all the best bits of my day I'm sure it would look very similar to Mrs M's so I do get it.

Perhaps my post and my description of my perception of Mrs M's everyday life was a little cynical for some and I apologise if it did cause offence especially as it was meant to be a reflection on me NOT Mrs M.

It was simply me stating facts (admittedly in a jokey and cynical way) and highlighting the things that people wouldn't (quite rightly) want to watch.

Apologies again for any upset and Merry Christmas. Xmas Smile

WhataRacquet · 09/12/2015 10:01

This thread is just ridiculous now. I think the whole thing should be deleted. Storm in a teacup.

00100001 · 09/12/2015 10:04

You can't delete this thread! [fhsock]

Then the 7.02 joke would be gone, and how would I earn royalties when people like Michael McIntyre or Russell Howard start using it? Xmas Confused
