About the minimum number of bacon rashers per sandwich?

Informed Dh I had bought a second pack of bacon for tomorrow's breakfast, as if we want two sandwiches each 8 rashers was not enough.

He stated that two rashers per sandwich is enough. I claim that three, minimum, is an acceptable amount.

He says I'm wasteful. I say there's no sense in eating a sandwich that is more bread than filling, especially where bacon is concerned.

Who is BU? Grin

As a former veggie of 15 years standing you need 3 rashers and an egg. I'd whack some black pudd on the side too.

The bread is there merely as a handle to the bacon. OH makes me at least three rashes and I have been know to not bother with one of the bread slices

I was veggie for ten years too, though, maybe it's a compensatory thing? Making up for the lost years...

I have a strong dislike of 'mean' sandwiches and only eat them if they have lots of filling. I would hope for three or four rashers in a sandwich, if there were on,y two rashers it would need to be padded out with tomato/egg/sausage Grin

Bacon sandwiches are exuberant. They are a breakfast food which is not cardboard based, unlike fucking cereal. They need real butter. Fresh bread. Good bacon. No sauce. A liberal socialist except when it comes to bacon sandwiches. Then I'm dictatorial.

2 sandwiches each? So, four slices of bread? Good lord! 2 rashers works perfectly laid out top to toe so as to maximise bacon to bread contact.

I like your theory, although disagree with the clot bias. You need clonakilty pudding. Then you will be a clot worshipper too.

OMG.. I'd want at least 5.

My DD likes paper-thin bacon and I cook her at least 7 or 8 rashers.

Don't want to live with the 2 rashers brigaders - where's the treat????

Need AT LEAST 4 rashers. I had one with 12 once. Was fucking lovely.

Did someone say they cut the fat off? Shock That's the best bit - all crispy and salty. Actually, I prefer a sausage sandwich and now I want some black pudding for tomorrow.

2 rashers per sandwich really. But I would love a 3 rasher and would get all emotional about a 4 rasher.

If all we had was enough for 2 rashers then that would be grand.

...........of course it's useful to have extra slices so you can at them while making your sandwiches. Whoever grills the bacon and makes the sandwiches has the privilege of an extra couple of slices to scoff while assembling the

He is so bu. Two rashers per sambo? That is not a bacon sandwich! Three rashers per sambo is ideal, as long as it's back bacon and not streaky. Though streaky has no place in a sandwich.

On the bacon sandwich topic though, OP, do you go for ketchup or butter? DP insists that it must be ketchup. I believe that he is clearly wrong, it must be butter.

I'm a former veggie (28 years!) soon to move to the Middle East. So im getting as much bacon in as possible! Cram it in!
