About the minimum number of bacon rashers per sandwich?

Informed Dh I had bought a second pack of bacon for tomorrow's breakfast, as if we want two sandwiches each 8 rashers was not enough.

He stated that two rashers per sandwich is enough. I claim that three, minimum, is an acceptable amount.

He says I'm wasteful. I say there's no sense in eating a sandwich that is more bread than filling, especially where bacon is concerned.

Who is BU?

Bread then butter, 3 slices of smoked back bacon. Toast then an egg and mushrooms butter than bread. I like sauce on the side to dip in said sandwich which has to be brown.

Three minimum...four if they've been left to crisp under the grill.

2 is perfect but 3 is heaven.. Now i want a bacon sandwich

Grilled bacon. 3 for grown ups, 2 rashers for kids. Back bacon. Who buys streaky??? Then put bread in bottom of grill pan (after cooking bacon) and let it soak up any dripping. Don't do this if you've also cooked sausages

6 rashers in one sandwich??! Madness.

3 I think, but wouldn't have two sandwiches. We agree that 1.5 sandwiches each is the optimum amount so if we had 8 rashers we'd divide it between 3 sandwiches.

One or two slices of Brie tucked between crispy rashers with the fat left on.

I had a bacon sarnie in a coffee shop with pretensions yesterday. DH ordered granary bread instesd of white (LTB). When it arrived, they'd used sliced bread. I think my lip curl would have given Elvis a run for his money. So disappointed.

A bacon sarnie just has to be in white bread cut from a loaf IMHO. Butter - lots of it. Back bacon crisped to within an inch of it's life, 4 rashers is absolute heaven. Optional brown or tomato sauce depending on my mood, the bread and time of day. I want one now!

2 or 3. Medallion part only. Absolutely not a scrap of fat anywhere.

Preferably on an oven bottom with tomato sauce.

I've just cooked dh and I bacon sandwiches. Your dh would have a fit at ours! 4 slices of bacon (cooked double) to 2 slices of bread each. Perfect bacon sandwich. I even cook the supposedly thick stuff double. Certainly stops the meat going too crispy while allowing the rind to crisp to perfection.

2 minimum. Has to be smoked. No point otherwise.
And in a Scottish roll. Those Warburtons people talikng about how soft their bread rolls are have no idea.
Fellow Scots on this thread will understand what I mean.

Minimum three. Smoked back bacon. Cooked in halogen oven for perfect crispness. No fat. Brown or wholemeal toast. Heinz ketchup.

though I just had a sausage sandwich

Sitting reading this thread whilst sting a bacon and egg cob - crusty cob that's been in a bag overnight, so it's chewy not crumbly (I'm a funny bugger with bread!), 3 rashes of smoked back bacon, fat trimmed off, runny egg and red sauce, no butter. Perfect!

Ds has just the bacon with no egg, and has red sauce on one half and brown on the other!

I'd say three but my DH would say two is acceptable. I normally cook the whole pack, give him 2, my girls (they are 2) one slice each and i eat the rest cause I am a greedy fucker

Three slices of back bacon. I assume you are using square white bread and the sandwhich will be cut into almost triangles. Otherwise, there's no hope for any of us.

three here, it doesn't fill the bread otherwise. Bacon has to be well done, i'm not one for chewy bacon that pings back into the sandwich when you're eating it Sauce has to be brown, can't stand tomato sauce.

All these folk who think things are too indulgent! I don't get it... Obvs we Dont have treats every day but that why they're called treats dagnammit!

Oh and i buy smoked streaky! Tastes much better and more fat to mop up afterwards. mmmmmmmmm

Bacon on bread? Philistines.
Even take a trip to ASDA at 8am on a Sunday morning and you will find local delights freshly baked.
Scottish rolls, with options of extra floury, crispy or "well done" ( almost black on top.
Bacon on bread is an absolute last resort.

Minimum of 3 rashers preferably 4, with butter and ketchup hwew in the best white bread you can get.

I lived with a Jewish vegetarian once and she used to eat fake bacon rasher sandwichea for breakfast which I couldn't get my head round as even if she did eat meat she still couldn't have had a bacon sandwich.

4 slices of smoked streaky, fried to almost blackness on white breaded butter with a runny egg and either red or brown sauce. Am off to the caff for one now :o

Did i see someone mention 7-8 rashers in one sandwich?

It makes all those "AIBU to think that it's impossible to spend less than x amount per week on groceries" threads make sense
