I would love:

  1. a pair of dungarees
  2. a baby blue velour tracksuit

but I feel too contrained by society and my arse (which is now decending down the back of my legs).

How about you?

A sleeveless shift dress.
My arms are like a Sumo wrestler's arms

Pastamancer · 15/04/2015 18:35

I've always wanted a pair of white shiny platform boots with a silver lightning bolt on the side. Also a 50s style dress like this

Actually any boots would be nice, I have massive calves and can't even get wellies that fit :(

Popchik9 · 15/04/2015 18:42

Really high heels but am already tall and haven't got the confidence to carry them off. a Dutch friend is taller than me and she wears them and looks fab though.

minimalisthoarder · 15/04/2015 20:53

A boho style long velvet skirt or maxi dress, in lots of jewel colours. Possibly trimmed with little bells. The Victorian lace up boots mentioned - where can you buy those?! I'd actually wear these (maybe without the bells) if I knew where to find them. I usually look very dull and boring but secretly in a hippy at heart, even if as a teen in the nineties I was told I was doing grunge too neatly.

I'd just love to have normal feet. Size 5, D fitting, just walk into a shop and buy shoes that fit feet. Not my canoes that are too long and narrow for everything.

TiggyOBE · 15/04/2015 20:56

A tiger pattern suit.

Ionone · 15/04/2015 20:58

I wish wish wish I could wear sexy feminine shoes. High heels, strappy sandals, peep toes, kitten heels etc. No. I cannot. All shoes in the world are too wide for my feet and I look absolutely stupid in all the above, like I am wearing my mum's shoes and dressing up at the age of 8. Not to mention the risk of accidentally just stepping out of them while walking. Bah. I have two pairs of high heels and I put them on occasionally, look in the mirror at how ridiculous my legs and ankles look in comparison, and take them off.

Hassled · 15/04/2015 20:58

I wish I'd been young enough to wear the denim shorts over black leggings thing that was everywhere a year or so ago. I am old enough to wear deep red velvet flouncy coats, but lack the guts.

DamFineBeaver · 15/04/2015 21:04

Pleasantly surprised by the number of people sharing the dungarees-love. Does this mean we're bang on imaginary-trend?

Perhaps someone needs to have a what-we'd-really-like-to-wear party just so we can.

Tiggy, is this the kind of suit you're after?

Skin tight jeans, something print on top and v high heels. I do own a leopard print cardigan which I love but DH says it makes me look 'unhinged'!

awfulomission · 15/04/2015 21:08

I have and wear dungarees. I do love deep in the countryside though and mostly use them for pottering and garden centre.

awfulomission · 15/04/2015 21:08

I mean live not love!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 15/04/2015 21:24

I really liked those tutu skirts with jumpers. Was just thinking that I'd got two similar skirts that had been in my wardrobe unworn for 5+ years but actually I did wear one this year with a Christmas (non novelty) jumper. I feel like I did the right thing now.

I would like to wear higher heels and be able to walk in them. Although I saw I woman wearing some strappy platform heels today with socks. Didn't envy that.

CarryOnCramping · 15/04/2015 21:40

I love those tutus!! I didnt know they were a thing. I will buy and wear one as soon as I have somewhere to wear it.

Basically I'd like to be dressed as a fairy princess 24/7 with tutu, wings and a tiara.

xalyssx · 15/04/2015 21:42

I want to wear balconette bras and tops, but my boobs aren't the right shape.

Binkybix · 15/04/2015 21:47

Denim dungarees that have a short skirt instead of shorts/trousers. I'd even like to do the one side unattached thing! Jumpsuits - they just make me look odd. Harem trousers ditto. I find it really hard to find clothes that fit and suit me, although I'm fairly standard size. Odd.

CharlieSierra · 15/04/2015 21:48

loveareading have you tried a strappy top from Bravissimo? They sometimes do halter neck ones too. You don't need a bra, they have a fully functional one built in.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 15/04/2015 21:49

Flared jeans with platform wedges a la 1970s. But am too old

Can't believe how many of you like Dungarees. I think they are one of the most hideous garments known to woman.

RusticBlush · 15/04/2015 21:53

Ooh, a bodiced little gyspy dress with cow-boy boots - its been years.....

BeaufortBelle · 15/04/2015 22:00

A dark, lustrous, full length mink coat. Would I bother with the knickers under it - dunno Grin.

Leather mini skirt, black sheer tights and high heeled patent court shoes - I used to pull that off 30 years ago with a crisp cotton blouse with the collar turned back and a soft tweedy jacked with the sleeves rolled up to expose the silk lining - ha, two stone and any years later Sad.

lessonsintightropes · 16/04/2015 01:49

To whoever wanted cowboy boots: I bought a pair of Tony Lama ones in NYC last year and can honestly say they go with everything, look fabulous and are extremely comfortable. They did cost £350 but I've never invested better in forward. Do it!

I've got no boobs so always have to wear a very padded bra, so no strappy tops or halter necks.
I'd love to wear a maxi dress, I see women on holiday in gorgeous long jersey dresses with jewelled sandals & sigh.
I look like I've got a big nightie on.

Also very high shoes, I'm 5'9'' and look like Lilly Savage in then.

I haven't Ooompa because I don't think anyone could make a silk purse out of my sow's ears Blush
