I would love:

  1. a pair of dungarees
  2. a baby blue velour tracksuit

but I feel too contrained by society and my arse (which is now decending down the back of my legs).

How about you?

SirDiddymus, dungaree shorts are a different story! I bet they look really nice on you.
I thought you were talking about those horrendous things from the 70's.

A big swishy cape.

A proper traditional men's Japanese Kimono but I'm not rich enough to get away with that sort of eccentricity unfortunately

Leafitout · 15/04/2015 15:52

A bikini but my muffin top and stretch marks totally rule it out. Last wore a bikini twenty years agoSad

StayGoldPonyBoy · 15/04/2015 15:56

60s style swing dresses, high necked tops, lots of layers and swishy things but I have massive boobs and anything that isn't fitted makes me look totally round and anything too high necked gives me the uni-boob effect.

SevTSnape · 15/04/2015 15:57

A really nice suit with a bow tie, with tight trousers and lovely waistcoat. They look so good on skinny girls, but I'd never pull it off. I wish I'd had the confidence to wear one when I was size 8

AnnPerkins · 15/04/2015 15:58

Fabulous, super-high court shoes in the style of Alicia Florrick. Except I wouldn't make it to my front door without wanting to swap to my comfy mid-height wedges.

MorrisZapp · 15/04/2015 15:58

A Fila zip up tracky top.

Fred Perry t-shirt (I do own one but it stays in the wardrobe)

Any other kind of mod/ casual look. I'm too old and too chunky to carry it off.

Love my parka though, that's practically a legal requirement for mums these days.

ChrisQuean · 15/04/2015 16:06

Those Victorian lace up black leather boots with kitten heels and about 100 eye holes for the laces. I've always loved them!

Ginmartini · 15/04/2015 16:20

Oh yes dungarees - and look all 'cute boyfriendy' with flat brogues and a white shirt, a slick of red lipstick and my hair long and tousled a la Kate Moss.

In reality I'd look like a middle aged hippo going to a barn dance themed fancy dress party.

TheListingAttic · 15/04/2015 16:25

I want to channel Labyrinth-era David Bowie in this. But can't. Because I'm neither 22, petite, nor gorgeous, and I think you need to be all three. Or David Bowie.

A pair of leather riding boots and fabulous Autumn clothing.

I live in the tropics and I miss Autumn clothing! I also miss not having the shave to within an inch of my life every day but that's another story...

lastlines · 15/04/2015 17:17

ChrisQuean why not wear them? they suit everybody. You don't have to be tall and skinny to look lovely in Victorian lace up boots. I live in them!

listingattic they sell those at Spitalfields market. Not that I'm tempting you...

OnlyLovers · 15/04/2015 17:18

Chris, just echoing the PP but yes –why can you not wear them?

I used to love them. My style has changed a bit now and they're not 'me' any more, but I still have a faint pang of wanting them if I see a nice pair in the shops!

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 15/04/2015 17:21

I wish I could wear shorts and halter neck tops (not necessarily together!)

AgentCooper · 15/04/2015 17:25

A jumpsuit. I'm too tall and fat and I'm scared of stripping off in the lavvy.

Strapless dresses - big boobs.

A delicate wee cami flapper-style dress (see above).

Mrsfrumble · 15/04/2015 17:36

Definitely dungarees! I'm tall and skinny, I reckon I'd pull it off, but I just keep imagining DH's "WTF" face that he's inevitably pull.

teacoffeesomethingsweet · 15/04/2015 17:41

The list is endless: a jumpsuit (too fat for that), anything strapless (too big boobs), shorts (reasons as above), a maxi dress.
I would also love to fit into my pre-DS clothes

Greenteandchives · 15/04/2015 17:42

Ugg boots. Have always wanted a pair.....!

The80sweregreat · 15/04/2015 17:44

High heels (because i cant wear them) and a bikini, sadly too fat now.

MonstrousRatbag · 15/04/2015 17:52

A kaftan, really 70s one, e.g. coral with gold embroidery. I've no idea when I would wear it, but I want one.

bonzo77 · 15/04/2015 18:00

High heels: they hurt.
Leather leggings: don't have the legs for it right now, though definitely passable when i'm at my lowest weight. might treat myself next winter if I shift baby weight by then (EDD September).
Anything that's best bra-less: I'm only comfortable in scaffolding.

peltata · 15/04/2015 18:15

Love love this Vivienne Westwood corset wished I had one when I was in my twenties. Would be too self conscious to wear it now
