Good grief.

GoringBit · 10/01/2015 19:31

Swans? Teeth? Really? Well, isn't that just a nightmare waiting to happen?

ArsenicFaceCream · 10/01/2015 19:32

What do they eat? (apart from kids' packed lunches outside the RSC at Stratford upon Avon)
On which note I would like to publicly apologise to the RSPB for the packed lunches I fed to swans between approx 1989-1995.BlushGrin

maybe they could just be muzzled. better be careful they might get a bad name like staffs etc

Username12345 · 10/01/2015 19:34

They don't have teeth.

Hatespiders · 10/01/2015 19:34

They aren't true teeth, just jagged bills which help them get a grip on fish.

GoringBit · 10/01/2015 19:34

They can break a man's arm with their necks, you know. This might be an urban myth, but if we're freaking out about swans, let's go the whole hog.

According to DM, DF went swan-upping with Jon Pertwee once. I'd rather give them a wide berth.

Lweji · 10/01/2015 19:35

And the
petition for swan's teeth

We can do it.

GerundTheBehemoth · 10/01/2015 19:35

Goosanders and other 'sawbill' ducks are the toothiest birds. (Not actual teeth, they're called lamellae, but their function is the same as crocodile teeth - for gripping slippery fish.) Here's a goosander skull.

Lweji · 10/01/2015 19:37

Gerund and hatespiders, I've done that in the thread that was unlawfully deleted and gave up.

sanquhar · 10/01/2015 19:38
