Steak and blowjob day

For those who don't know, this is the male alternative to valentines day which is all about women.

I think it's just a fun day. To be offended or perturbed is just that person being a bit too serious.

I'm a tad nervous of peoples opinions when I buy a big steak and some strawberry flavoured durex play tomorrow. Shock

Just wondering what peoples opinions are to this? I've had reactions varying from a giggle to wtf is that? What a stupid idea.

How do you use MN and not know where chat is? You post in lots of other topics.

DH- has flu, too poorly to mn himself- says that he is offended by steak and a bj day too. He- and I quote- is "not an animal, won't somebody think of my feelings".

You don't have to be an animal to enjoy sex on a particular day. Your DH sounds lovely and I hope he's better soon. I didn't think there was any 'deep' aspect to this day.

Oh, and another problem with this day. Isn't it erm, pretty boring? If you switch Google safe search off (or even if you don't Grin), you can find stuff that is really worth trying once a year...

N.B. Never eaten anything from Redwood's cheatin' range, so no idea what it's like.

How do you MN? Seriously, how do you navigate the site? You have posted in all sorts of areas but never found chat?

So how do you find threads to read? Do you not use active convos (chat is the 2nd most popular topic) or last 15 minutes or whatever it is? Do you never look at the topics page when starting your own thread? What about the list of topics under popular forums at the bottom of this very page? Chat is number 3 of 9. I'm genuinely baffled as to how you navigate MN talk?

I should point out that I'm in the 95% of MNers who use MN via Active and TIO. I'm wondering if there's Another Way.

DH isn't being serious about the animal bit btw but he does maintain that all this crap is as belittling to men as it is offensive to women. He said he'd like to buy a magazine about bikes without half naked women obscuring the pictures too.

Chat is hard to find if you are posting using an iPhone. Took me ages to find it, whereas on the desktop site it is easy.

Do you not use active if you're on a phone? I use a tablet and that doesn't use the desktop site and chat's still there in the same way.

I imagine that the DJ who thought it up is a shallow person with a boring sex life who can't comprehend that he can't generalise his own wants to 50% of the population. There's a fair few women who do that to other women too, which just goes to show that each sex has its own share of arrogant twits.

Yes, you can see threads in active but you can't click on the Chat linky from there that let's you into all the other threads.
You have to go to topics, fun and games then scroll all the way down to the bottom, where almost as an afterthought, you will see the Chat section.

Tilly, do you know who originally bought it up then?

I use my iPhone and iPad. I've never once gone in to fun and games section. No I don't use active topics

I've just checked out active convos on my tab and while I can't click on 'chat' as a topic from active convos, I can do so from any of the threads. Which is how I usually start threads. I just click on a chat/aibu/behaviour/whatever thread and 'start new thread'.

I don't think people think she'd find like-minded friends in chat. Somebody asked why you'd post this in aibu, not chat as it's not an aibu. People were surprised Evee had never seen chat before.

I'm genuinely interested op. How do you MN? I mean how do you find interesting threads to read without clicking on Active Convos? Or last 15? Or last hour?

Rax, it's through the app. There is no 'last 15 mins' etc. it's all in sections. The same as it is (well I think anyway) online underneath all the options for talk/last 15mins etc.

I've looked at active topics but they all have a million responses so I'll read a few and never comment as it would just get lost in the melee. Never saw how to actually get to that section.

Tilly, I'll scan through for the link. Another I have missed Hmm

I spend most of my MN time in Chat.

I'm still cooking cauliflower and egg curry this evening.

I will still buy DH a small gift for St Valentin's day next year, just like I did this year.

Seriously, though, just the name of it: 'steak and blowjob'. I think it's he association (conflation?) of food with oral sex. A right turn off.

Bits of steak on his love truncheon. Not good.

Anybody see what I mean? Both (food and sex) are nice but placed together. Yuk.

It puts me in mind of a steak having the texture of bubble gum for some reason.
