Steak and blowjob day

TwittyMcTwitterson · 13/03/2014 22:10

For those who don't know, this is the male alternative to valentines day which is all about women.

I think it's just a fun day. To be offended or perturbed is just that person being a bit too serious.

I'm a tad nervous of peoples opinions when I buy a big steak and some strawberry flavoured durex play tomorrow. Shock

Just wondering what peoples opinions are to this? I've had reactions varying from a giggle to wtf is that? What a stupid idea.

"Differing opinions are fine PP. Being a bit of a cunt about it aren't. Never thought people would get so arsy about a blow job"

You really didn't think your OP through, did you?!

People aren't getting arsey about a blow job, they're telling you why the idea of this totally male-manufactured day is offensive.

Oh, and I'm a bit Hmm about you asking where chat is, and claiming you're newish. An advanced search of your name shows up more than 500 posts.

TwittyMcTwitterson · 14/03/2014 13:32

Where did you get that from ilovesooty?

Katie, he's the one who needs to watch out! Ha!!! Not really, I'm a lady Wink

Tethers, genuinely chuckled. Grin

Biwi, newish. Since I found mumsnet I've been here a lot haha. Don't think any longer than a month. Still don't know where chat is...

Thanks for searching for me tho.

ilovesooty · 14/03/2014 13:35

I understand it to be what FunLovinBunster said.

polythenespam · 14/03/2014 13:35

Nobody is "getting arsey about a blow job" - you're completely missing the points people are making OP

MrsDavidBowie · 14/03/2014 13:37

How utterly naff.
I have never heard of this particular celebration

Are there cards you can order from Moonpig too?

fideline · 14/03/2014 13:38

Is it against MN rules to say that OP seems a bit thick?

It really is the kindest explanation.

TwittyMcTwitterson · 14/03/2014 13:40

Ah yes, I didn't see that post. Yes that's what I take it to mean as well.

Maybe I'm a sensitive soul. I see some peoples point but I do think it's a bit of an exaggerated response to a simple topic and I stand by people being nasty.

OP posts:
TwittyMcTwitterson · 14/03/2014 13:41

Fideline, you prove my point. Bitch.

OP posts:
JenBehavingBadly · 14/03/2014 13:41

Steak and blowjob? Its all a bit creepy and naff isn't it.

What woman in their right mind would 'service' their other half because some bloke decided to have an arbitrary day for it.

BIWI · 14/03/2014 13:42

People disagree with you. How is that exaggerated? Just because it doesn't fit with your view does not make it so.

fideline · 14/03/2014 13:43

Oh you are actually reading what's being said to you then. You haven't engaged intelligently with a single point put to you.

gordyslovesheep · 14/03/2014 13:44

exactly - maybe your view is wrong? or at least not representative of the way most people feel

fideline · 14/03/2014 13:44

A surrendered stripper Jen

TwittyMcTwitterson · 14/03/2014 13:44

I don't think this idea harms anyone. Said it was exaggerated. Not wrong.

And yes I'm sure my previous post will be deleted but is no more childish than saying I'm a bit thick.

OP posts:
ThursdayLast · 14/03/2014 13:44

Always on the wind up OP.
Don't garner opinion if you don't wanna hear it.

fideline · 14/03/2014 13:47

Oh OP has form does she Thursday?

That would also explain it.

CountessOfRule · 14/03/2014 13:47

She didn't say you were a bit thick, only that you seemed so from this thread. You could respond by commenting that that "sounded bitchy".

All these posts giving good reasons not to find it funny, and all you can say is that people need to get a life? That doesn't show off degree-level debating skills.

FoxesRevenge · 14/03/2014 13:48

The whole concept makes my flesh crawl.

KellyHopter · 14/03/2014 13:51

What the...urgh.
This is for people that don't really like sex, right?

Lololol @ somebody up there (probably with a numbername) claiming this is An Actual Thing because there's a logo on facebook.

TillyTellTale · 14/03/2014 13:57
Hmm

How is Saint Valentine's Day only for women? It was originally a saint's day celebrated by Christians regardless of their genitalia. In modern times, last time I checked, women thronged Clinton Cards in the week running up to Saint Valentine's Day, just as much as men. (Perhaps more.) Are the people who thought this up simply too unobservant to notice the aisles of cards emblazoned with 'To my darling boyfriend/fiancé/husband'?

And finally, what the hell with the lazy caricaturing of men as one-dimensional, simplistic creatures who have no deeper desires than fellatio and eating steak. Men are not the Borg. Some are even vegetarian.

fideline · 14/03/2014 13:59

I bet the vegetarian mysoginists are kicking themselves.

LurcioLovesFrankie · 14/03/2014 14:02

I think (at least I hope) sparklymommmy was being ironic when she said "it's on facebook so it must be official".

caruthers · 14/03/2014 14:03

My wife has never heard of this and for the sake of my sanity i'm not going to let her know.

Anyway we're having chippy tonight and she has a lot of vinegar on her chips so it's probably wise we abstain.

LurcioLovesFrankie · 14/03/2014 14:06

Caruthers - OUCH at the mere thought, and I haven't even got a penis Grin.
