For those who don't know, this is the male alternative to valentines day which is all about women.

I think it's just a fun day. To be offended or perturbed is just that person being a bit too serious.

I'm a tad nervous of peoples opinions when I buy a big steak and some strawberry flavoured durex play tomorrow.

I think that they do it rather better in RUssia - we lived there for several years before returning to the UK.

They do actually have a separate day for women and men.

For women, it is International Women's Day on 8th March - you can even get cards for this here in the UK now as well.

For men, it is 23rd February - officially called 'Defender of the Fatherland Day'.

What I do like is that these days are still very much commererated -sp? -and you will still see lots of women walking about with big bunches of flowers that they have received on the day.
