Sure he probably was lying. Maybe he wasn't and should have had the maturity to handle it differently, who knows, but for a random stranger to handle this KID in this way is horrific!

AIBU?

That was awful.

MeltedAdventCalendarChocolates · 11/12/2011 23:22

I want to complain or something but am not sure how or if I can.

Catsdontcare · 11/12/2011 23:22

He was old enough to get up and leave unescorted though. I kind of think he got what he deserved.

Ripeberry · 11/12/2011 23:23

The 'kid' was being arsey and answering back. He brought it upon himself. Community spirit. That's what's wrong with this country, letting people think they can get away without paying their way.
He only got thrown because he tried to get back on. If he had half an ounce of respect for authority and his elders he would not have even bothered trying again.

MeltedAdventCalendarChocolates · 11/12/2011 23:24

He deserved to be taken off the train sure, but not by a stranger, and not so aggressively. No one has the right to handle another human like that unless in defence or it is part of the job.

MeltedAdventCalendarChocolates · 11/12/2011 23:25

Ripe - he didn't see his stuff thrown back on and once man handled would surely have been in a bit of a dream like daze. I know I would have been at that age.

OP posts:
crazycrackernanna · 11/12/2011 23:26

Isn't it assault?

Ripeberry · 11/12/2011 23:26

Complain about what? They should prosecute the 'kid'. He knew what he was doing and was not happy about being found out.
Good on that bloke, he deserves a medal. Lots of people are fed up with jumped up youths who think that the world owes them respect, they have to earn it and start with knowing to respect your elders.

TysTheSeasonToBeJolly · 11/12/2011 23:27

That is awful Xmas Shock

MeltedAdventCalendarChocolates · 11/12/2011 23:28

It is assault. I don't think the kid should have got away with it, but they should have called police and waited and he should have been escorted off by them.

crazycrackernanna · 11/12/2011 23:28

Learning respect by being body slammed onto the platfrom of a train station? Confused

jasper · 11/12/2011 23:28

so would you all have been happy to sit there all night on the train while the stroppy swearing kid refused to move?

NoOnesGoingToEatYourMincePies · 11/12/2011 23:29

I don't think he deserved that though.

Okay he hadn't got a valid ticket and he was a bit mouthy but for an adult twice his size to just haul him about like that and push him to the ground at least three times, once on the train and twice on the platform (and one woman does say "there's no need for that" the third time it happens) is terrible.

It was humiliating and it looked painful. Why not just call the transport police to charge him as a fare dodger?

As with Emma West and her racist outburst on the Croydon tram, I hope that "Big Man" is arrested for assault now.

Ripeberry · 11/12/2011 23:30

Maybe the bloke just had enough, at least he did not punch him. If anyone needs to complain it's the kids parents. They have proof on video. Let the police deal with it from now on. Just because a bloke just wanted to get home and was trying to sort things out the only way he knew how. He might lose his job over this if he gets procecuted.

All because of a bloshy kid.

crazycrackernanna · 11/12/2011 23:32

Is all they had to do was call the Police. Then nobody would have been in danger of losing their job or being arrested for assaulting a minor.

saladsandwich · 11/12/2011 23:32

i noticed the family with young kids on the train, i wouldnt want my kid to see that. he could have just carried him off withought throwing him surely?

MeltedAdventCalendarChocolates · 11/12/2011 23:33

It doesn't matter if he had had enough. He is a grown man 'the big man' he calls himself Hmm and this was a KID.

OP posts:
squeakytoy · 11/12/2011 23:33

He should have just got off the bloody train. He didnt have at ticket, he was being arsey, and swearing at the bloke who was trying to do his job.

He didnt look like a kid, he looked in his late teens at least.

Pity nobody did the same to the gobshite on the croydon tram the other week when she was spouting her racist stuff really.

OldGreyWassailTest · 11/12/2011 23:33

I so agree with you Ripeberry. There is no respect left in this country and kids think they can get away with anything.

You seriously think people would have been happy to sit on the train for a few hours while the Police were called and tried to sort it out? I don't think so, somehow!!!

crazycrackernanna · 11/12/2011 23:34

I also feel that the message of the kid being a little twat was lost the minute the adult put his hands on the kid.

MeltedAdventCalendarChocolates · 11/12/2011 23:36

Agree crazy. The kid was a shit, he deserves to get in trouble, but it was not for a radom 'big man' to do. Of course people would get annoyed and not want to sit there, but they HAVE to. He assaulted a kid.

Squeak, he is hardly an adult if late teens...

OP posts:
hairypotter · 11/12/2011 23:36

Maybe they were too heavy handed but he should left when he was caught fare dodging instead of getting mouthy and holding up the train for all the other passengers.

Why should everyone else pay and not h

WorraLiberty · 11/12/2011 23:36

He brought the entire situation upon himself...I have zero sympathy for him.

He was repeatedly told to get off the train and refused to do it.

Another case of "You can't touch me, I'm a teenager"

Well guess what? Someone did and it's his own bloody fault.

IneedAChristmasNickname · 11/12/2011 23:36

I also think it was assault! they should have called transport police and let them deal with it!

RaraGigglePixie · 11/12/2011 23:36

I hope he does lose his job. It was not his place to do anything, never mind assault the boy like he did. I hope he doesn't work with the public because I sure as hell wouldn't want to deal with him after that. He was an adult, if he felt the need to get involved he should have done it in a far better way than being all "Big Man"

Of course the kid should have had a ticket, of course he should have been more respectful and got off when asked but he didn't deserve that how ever you try to justify it.
